  • Patent number: 6615864
Abstract: A pool cleaner reed valve for a pulsating submersible swimming pool cleaner which has a valve body (22) configured to fit into a pulsating valve enclosure. The body includes a rectangular inlet end (24) and an round outlet end (26) with a pair of fulcrum points (30) and restricting boundaries (32) for retaining and confining valve movements. A pair of opposed rigid valve plates (50) are angularly juxtaposed within the valve inlet end contiguously engaging the fulcrum points and respective restricting boundaries such that each opposed blade rotates inwardly on the fulcrum point until the distal ends intimately engage as influenced by negative fluid pressure applied by a pool pump. A pair of torsion springs (70) surround each restricting boundary and interface with each valve plate returning them to a parallel position when fluid pressure is terminated. A resilient sleeve (72) is positioned on each spring for eliminating a metal to metal contact with the spring to the valve plate.

  • Patent number: 6505752
Abstract: A coffee server for serving brewed coffee is insulated with a partial vacuum pulled in a void (36) between the walls of an outer vessel (20) and an inner vessel (32). The outer and inner vessels are fabricated of metal and have a top narrow neck opening (22) and (34) that are attached together with a hermetic seal (42). The partial vacuum is for minimizing heat loss conducted through the combined vessels permitting coffee placed inside to retain its useable heat content for at least six hours without additional heat being added. A pour spout neck (44) is fitted to the vessel necks and provides a liquid flow path when the server is tilted to pour coffee that is stored inside. An offset brew though stopper (52) including a hinged cover (58), is removably attached to the pour spout neck with the cover pivoted to permit coffee from a brewer to enter the server through an offset portion of the stopper during the filling process.

  • Patent number: 6386431
Abstract: A process for manufacturing a vacuum insulated stainless steel coffee server, which includes the steps of welding an outer shell (32) to an inner liner (34) then placing a ceramic ring (38) in a vacuum base (40) and slipping the vacuum base on the shell with the spacer forming a welding gap therebetween. The next step is welding the vacuum base to the shell at the welding gap formed by the ring and applying brazing powder and flux around a hole (36) in the liner, followed by inserting a threaded coupling (48) through the hole and a mating bore (42) in the base, with a first nut (52) on the coupling acting as a shoulder. The next step is applying brazing powder and flux around the nut and the bore in the vacuum base and then positioning the coffee server in a vacuum furnace and evacuating, while simultaneously elevating the temperature joining the coupling to the contiguous structure.
