Abstract: A flexible molded hanger for removable placement on the top of masonry walls to support Christmas lights and other displays. The hanger is bowed to facilitate placement and provided with a central pediment to receive a stabilizing member. Retention chips are formed on the hanger at spaced locations.
Abstract: A universal camera and flash unit mount having a camera mounting plate to which a handle may be detachably connected. A camera mounting plate is adjustably carried on the mount. The end of the handle, as well as the mount having ball joint to which flash arms may be selectively attached and adjustable to a wide range of lighting positions.
Abstract: A disposable evidence marker of paper, cardboard or like material. The marker is provided in flat, planar condition and is foldable into an inverted V-shape. An integral tongue and tab may be punched out and interlocked for stability. The investigator may mark the panel surfaces with a conventional marker or pen and discard the markers after use with no clean up necessary.
Abstract: A computer-based distance learning system for teaching a student at a remote location. The student communicates with a teaching center. The student's identity and continued presence is monitored either continually or randomly using recognition continuing systems such as web cameras, biometric tags or other means. An audit trail for verification is provided. The student receives instruction leading to a degree or certification and the school district, in the case of pubic schools, receives “at seat” credit for funding.
Abstract: An electric door strike having a keeper rotatably mounted in a fixed strike case for movement between open and closed positions. The keeper includes dual solenoids with a biasing link between the solenoid plungers to urge the plungers to a non-actuated position. Changing the biasing link in the keeper changes the mode of operation. The application of an actuating signal to a solenoid moving the plungers to an actuated position which can be either the fail-safe or fail-secure mode of operation depending on the biasing link employed.
Abstract: The system is a rebate program for the benefit of participating individuals such as wage earners. Participating individuals apply and are approved and are issued a card with an identifiable account number using credit approval systems. The card may include debit, smart card, customer loyalty and security features. The rebate is calculated and transferred to the participant's account in a trust fund. The card may also be used to engage in other financial transactions. The system may include a wide range of retail merchants as well as professional services available to the participant. Funds are disbursed to the participant upon the occurrence of certain specified events.
Abstract: A FM CW cable guided radar for the detection and location of outdoor perimeter intruders. Helically wound outer conductors on coaxial transmit and receive transmission lines provide a slow wave structure to support the propagation of external electromagnetic fields. The two leaky coaxial lines are enclosed in an extruded plastic jacket with the outer conductors in continuous electrical contact along the length of the cable. A chirp frequency modulation provides a continuous target response having a baseband frequency that is proportional to the distance along the length of the cable. After location determination, the amplitude of the response is compared to a location specific threshold to determine if an intruder is present.
Abstract: A semi-automatic, gas-operated shotgun having a side-loading port, lower barrel configuration with bottom shell ejection. Gas exit ports on the barrel operate a piston which actuates a connecting rod assembly rearwardly. The rearward movement of the connecting rod assembly will compress a recoil spring and cycle the next shell into the chamber from a shell space in the carrier above the breech. The bolt assembly has upper and lower bolt members. Locking lugs on the opposite sides of the lower bolt are released by rearward movement of the upper bolt member. Shell guide retainer pins are located on the lower bolt member to assist in removing a spent shell. The modular trigger assembly has a hammer which is rotated rearwardly by the lower bolt and which returns to a “short lock time” position held ready to fire by a sear.
Abstract: A method of printing on composite substrates particularly composite substrates of the type having a matrix impregnated with a resin such as an epoxy. The method is particularly applicable to carbon fiber substrates known as “pregs” or “pre-pregs.” The substrate is maintained in a cooled condition, is sheeted and provided with a carrier. The surface is top coated with a UV curing ink. After curing, an image is applied using UV curable inks. After printing, the substrates are maintained in a cold condition for subsequent processing into items such as tubes, rods or the like.
Abstract: A needle tube lock for a tattoo machine. The lock has a clamp arm which receives a threaded fastener and a needle tube arm which has a bore which receives the needle tab. The arms are integrally formed from stainless steel or other suitable sterilizable material. The lock is positioned about the needle tube and may be rotated relative to the needle tube retainer to a selected position and secured by tightening the fastener against the retainer. In this way, the tattoo machine is usable even if the retainer is broken or damaged.
Abstract: A window shutter frame defining a recess in which various selected decorative strips may be inserted. The shutter frame also carries a flexible flap so the frame may be pre-manufactured and installed in window recess or other installation location which are not dimensionally accurate without the necessity of cutting and trimming. Preferably the frame components are extruded from synthetic polymeric material.
Abstract: A golf training system which utilizes a pair of hinged panels which are placed on the practice surface at a selected angularity in an inverted “V” to provide a reference for club path, stance and ball position to teach the student a repeatable proper swing. Preferably one of the sides of the panels carry grid-like indicia and the opposite sides only a ball position marked. The teaching method employs the panels and the position and angularity of the panels may be varied in accordance with the type of golf shot and physical characteristics of the golf student. For more advanced student, the panels are reversed so the sides substantially devoid of marking are displayed. The system may be used to teach virtually all golf shots including putting.
Abstract: An extendible and retractable apparatus for displaying a flag or supporting an item such as an athletic net. The apparatus has a lower fixed tubular member and one or more telescopic sections which extend and are lockable in an extended position by keyed locking means. The telescopic members are extendible and retractable by means of a cable driven and guided through friction rollers.
