Abstract: An illumination system and method for increasing resolution, sharpness, depth of field, and perception of depth for a transmitted light microscope including a condenser lens having an optical axis, objective lens having an optical axis, and an eye piece wherein a light beam path shift enables two or more separate light beams to be directed onto the condenser along paths that are not coincident with the condenser lens optical axis and that produce beam exit paths from the condenser lens which are at maximum oblique angles relative to the objective lens axis which are within the objective lens aperture.
Abstract: A tracker controller system in which a pair of photo-resistive cadmium sulfide sensors mounted in the shadow of a shade pole generate a voltage signal proportional to their resistive values which signal is delivered to a comparator circuit that causes a tracker driver to operate when the voltage signal falls outside of a voltage window established by the comparator circuit.
Abstract: Improvements in the method and apparatus of vacuum deposition of a highly reflective surface onto aluminum lighting sheet wherein a coil of aluminum is disposed within the vacuum chamber, both as it unwinds and as it rewinds, and the water vapor created by heating the aluminum web from the coil is made available to other vacuum deposition processing compartments within the vacuum chamber including a glow discharge chamber normally fueled by argon gas.

Abstract: An illumination system and method for providing real-time 3-D viewing and increased resolution, sharpness, depth of field, and perception of depth for a transmitted light microscope including a condenser lens having an optical axis, objective lens having an optical axis, and an eye piece, wherein a light beam path shift device enables two or more separate light beams to be directed onto the condenser along paths that are not coincident with the condenser lens optical axis and that produce beam exit paths from the condenser lens which are at maximum oblique angles relative to the objective lens axis which are within the objective lens aperture.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for increasing the time that a quartz crystal can sense the rate at which evaporated material is broadcast onto a substrate wherein a chopper employing a disk with a slot is disposed between the source of the evaporated material and the crystal to reduce the exposure of the crystal to evaporated material to a fraction of the time that the substrate is exposed wherein the chopper frequency is not in tune with the dither frequency of the material evaporator. Barrier means prevents the chopper slot from significantly changing dimensions due to the build up of material on its defining edges, while shield means prevents the a crystal from being exposed to evaporated material from a source that it does not control.

Abstract: A self terminating phone plug having a switch armature disposed between the inner signal carrying shaft and the outer ground shaft wherein the armature is biased to electrically ground the inner shaft except when an actuator carried by the armature and protruding through the outer shaft is urged inward toward the inner shaft, as when the plug is inserted into a jack, in which case the armature disconnects from the outer shaft and ungrounds the inner shaft.
