  • Patent number: 4331246
Abstract: A container comprising a container body made of plastic material, with a convex bottom section, and a stand of plastic material, supporting the container body. The central zone of the stand is secured, preferably by welding, to the central zone of the convex bottom section of the container body. The stand has a conical collar surrounding the lower part of the container body. The bottom edge zone of the collar is shaped into an annular support surface, whereas its top edge zone engages into at least one annular shoulder in the container body. After fixing has been carried out in the central zone, the top edge zone is kept in contact with the annular shoulder of the container body by the elasticity of the plastic wall of the stand.

  • Patent number: 4331960
Abstract: A tracking antenna system includes coarse (CEA), medium (MEA) and fine (FEA) antenna arrays symmetrically disposed with respect to a boresight (BST) and controllably connectable to signal processing units (SPU) such that the antenna platform (PTF) is moved to point the boresight in the direction of a target while progressively increasing the resolution of the angular difference between the boresight and target. There are provisions for backtracking to decrease the resolution if the angular difference goes out of selected ranges.

  • Patent number: 4330739
Abstract: A stepping motor system is shown wherein a method is employed for determining the optimum amplitude of the current supplied to the stator winding of the motor. A series of different currents are applied to the motor. First, the stator windings are energized with currents of certain base magnitudes. Then the current in one winding is increased by a small amount and the current in the adjacent winding is decreased by a small amount so that the rotor tends to move towards its new equilibrium position. When the rotor reaches its maximum displacement the current changes in the windings are reversed so that not only will the rotor "hunt" for its new equilibrium position but it overshoots with twice the magnitude. This process continues for certain period of time during which the oscillation magnitudes rapidly grow. In one embodiment, after a maximum amplitude is reached, the current changes are applied out of phase with the oscillations to now try to decrease their amplitude.

  • Patent number: 4329333
Abstract: Method for oral treatment of dogs and other animals comprising administering a composition having slow release to the gums of dogs, the composition comprising a multiplicity of microencapsulated liquid droplets of flavoring material and anti-plaque agents contained in a carrier. The microencapsulated droplets are soluble in the saliva in the mouth to release the flavoring material and anti-plaque agents. The flavoring material is released at a sustained rate for long periods of time in the mouth to mask mouth odor while the anti-plaque agent prevents plaque build-up during release and in the case of chlorohexidine acetate for several hours thereafter.

  • Patent number: 4328584
Abstract: A number of amplitude converters (1) in a telecommunication system are supervised during the normal operation of the system by means of three comparison arrangements (4, 6, 9). The first and the second of the comparison arrangements has its inputs (5 and 7) connected to the inputs and the outputs, respectively, of two of the converters. The third comparison arrangement (9) has its inputs (8) connected to the outputs of the first and the second comparison arrangement and generates an alarm signal if the first comparison arrangement (4) signals a relation between two supervised in-signals, which deviates acceptably from a comparison result set value, and if the second comparison arrangement (6) signals a relation between the two out-signals which deviates unacceptably from a set value.

  • Patent number: 4325063
Abstract: A display system which has a source of blocks of codes representing characters to be displayed and a display device which converts the blocks of codes to lines of visually displayed characters is provided with a buffer memory which connects the source to the display device. The buffer memory includes a random access memory (RAM) with addressed registers for storing the codes and an address generator in the form of a counter. When a block of codes is transferred from the source to the buffer memory, the counter is initialized and as each code is transmitted to the buffer memory the counter is incremented. Each time the block of codes is transferred from the buffer memory to the display device the counter is again initialized and with the reading of each code from the memory the counter is again incremented. The buffer memory includes two identical RAMs and is controlled such that while one RAM is being loaded the other RAM is being read.

  • Patent number: 4322720
Abstract: A display device formed as a multilayer panel. The display is built up of d.c. electroluminescent display elements arranged in cells each containing an array of elements, e.g. for the display of a character. A display element is selected and caused to start luminescing by (a) a flash of light from a cell selector d.c. electroluminescent element which lowers the resistance of a group of associated photoconductors in series with the display elements, and (b) an energizing pulse applied, in the cell in question, to one of the display elements through its photoconductor. Once initiated, luminescence is maintained by an energizing voltage applied through a photoconductor radiatively coupled to the element. The information written in a cell is selectively erased as a whole by a further flash from the cell-selector element, which reduces the voltage applied to the lit elements of the cell to the point at which luminescence ceases.

  • Patent number: 4320868
Abstract: A length of envelope material adapted for being fed to an envelope-forming machine in which the material comprises a succession of envelope units in an unbroken row wound in the form of a roll with a succession of windings. Each envelope unit has a transverse fold line dividing the unit into two halves along which separated units can be respectively folded to form respective envelopes. Each envelope unit has a window opening and a transparent cover on the opening. First strings of glue are provided on each unit for joining the halves thereof together after folding along the fold line. Further strings of glue join the transparent cover to the unit. The strings of glue and the transparent cover are of respective thicknesses to form a uniform elevation at one side of the material of each unit. The diameter of the roll in which the length of material is wound corresponds to the dimensional length of each unit and the thickness of the glue strings and covers so that the roll is substantially cylindrical.
