Abstract: Waste recovery device comprising a container (62) for receiving waste, a radially expansible sheath (19) which is disposed about the container (62) and forms a lining within it, a deflecting member (66, 67) arranged to incurve the path of the sheath (19), a mechanism (73-77, 80-82) for feeding the sheath (19) by holding it under tension so as to cause it to close once it contacts the deflecting member (66, 67), and by displacing as desired the sleeve (19) over a predefined distance so as to cause a new section of sleeve to pass into the container (62), and a mechanism (54) for actuating the feed mechanism.
Abstract: A method and device for welding pipe onto a piping network at a joint comprising introducing an inert purging gas under pressure at a substantially constant flow rate at one end of the pipe away from the weld joint, providing a flow restriction at the end of the piping network away from the weld joint, diverting a minor portion of the inert purging gas flowing through the piping network into and through a constant back pressure maintaining device for maintaining a substantially constant back pressure on the inert purging gas in the piping network during the welding, whereby any changes in back pressure occurring in the piping network cause a greater or lesser amount of the inert purging gas to flow through the constant back pressure maintaining device, thereby enabling production of precise and highly reproducible welds with an orbital welder.
Abstract: A folding saw accessory comprising an elongated body portion, a longitudinal passageway extending into the body portion from one end thereof for receiving the handle of a folding saw therein, the passageway including a cutout formed in one longitudinal side of the body portion and forming a supporting portion, a securing bolt passing through the body portion and through the handle of a saw for retaining the saw in the passageway, a strap for encircling the body portion and the handle of a saw for securing the saw in the passageway, and an axial threaded passageway extending into the other end of the body portion for receiving an extension pole.
Abstract: A protective device for securing to a parachute-carried load to protect the same during landing, comprising a supporting base (2) for the load, a shield (6) extending around the periphery of the supporting base (2) and forming an upside down dome, with the supporting base forming the bottom thereof, a central deformable damping block (28) disposed under the supporting base (2), and a protective shield (29) for protecting the central damping block (28) arranged to support said element and linked to the strap (6) by means of high tensile cables (30) adapted to hold the central damping block (28) held between the supporting base (2) and the protective shield (29).
