Abstract: The present application describes total or partial butyric esters of polysaccharides as novel compounds; the number of hydroxyl groups esterified with butyric residues per each glycosidic monomer is preferably higher than 0.001; the application also describes the process of preparation of said esters, their use in therapy as antiproliferative agents, and pharmaceutical compositions containing them.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for homogenizing and micronizing aerosol formulations. The method includes the steps of homogenizing and micronizing an aerosol formulation at ambient temperature in a closed apparatus where the entire apparatus is maintained under elevated pressure. The apparatus includes a closed loop containing a reaction vessel, a homogenizer and a fluid conduit interconnecting the reaction vessel and the homogenizer. The homogenizer includes an interaction chamber and an intensifier pump. The interaction chamber includes a stream splitter for separating a stream of aerosol formulation components into two streams and an impaction chamber for recombining the stream.

Abstract: Composition for coloring ceramic articles obtained from ceramic mass containing TiO.sub.2 as such, in shades ranging from yellow to orange, consisting of an aqueous or hydroalcoholic solution to be applied to the surface to colored before final firing and containing soluble compounds of chromium/antimony or of chromium/zinc or chromium/zirconium or chromium/manganese mixtures.
Abstract: Articles of manufacture are provided with a low surface energy, permanently non-stick, non-fouling and ice-phobic surface by a system of coating comprising applying a primary coating having a surface energy of 22-28 dynes/cm.sup.2 comprising a novel polymeric material having non-stick and hardness properties and then applying a top coating having lower surface energy of from about 18-21 dynes/cm.sup.2 comprising a siliconic polymer and interdigitating means to make the top coating permanent, the means preferably comprising a bi- or polyfunctional organic compound adapted to wet the surface of the primary coating and chemically or physically bond thereto and to couple to the siliconic polymeric substance in the top coating. The coated substrates are resistant to marking by graffiti, to adherence by marine fouling organisms, and frozen ice on the surface is easily removed.
Abstract: A glass-ceramic substrate for a magnetic information storage medium includes, as predominant crystal phases, lithium disilicate (Li.sub.2 O.2SiO.sub.2) and at least one selected from a group consisting of .alpha.-quartz (.alpha.-SiO.sub.2), .alpha.-quartz solid solution (.alpha.-SiO.sub.2 solid solution), .alpha.-cristobalite (.alpha.-SiO.sub.2) and .alpha.-cristobalite solid solution (.alpha.-SiO.sub.2 solid solution) and has a coefficient of thermal expansion of +65 to +130.times.10.sup.-7 /.degree. Abstract: The invention consists of a re-loading device for ink-jet writing head, particularly for three-color ink-jet writing head, which includes a mechanical device (which removes from the body (11) of the ink-jet writing head the original cover used by the producer) and a substitute cover (10) which is connected in a reversible manner to the body of the ink-jet writing head in place of the original cover, where the substitute cover (10) has the same size and shape as the original one and includes at least one tank (3) which contains the ink to be transferred into a tank positioned inside the body (11) of the ink-jet writing head.
Abstract: Described herein is the use of a combination of organic additives that is particularly advantageous for the preparation of cementitious compositions having a high conservation of the degree of white, which contain in mass a photocatalyst that is able to oxidize, in the presence of light, air and ambient humidity, pollutant substances present in the environment, the said photocatalyst being, in particular, titanium dioxide prevalently in the form of anatase.The above combination of additives comprises the following: a melamine resin; a cellulose ether; a polymer chosen from among an ethylene polymer, an acrylic polymer, and a terpolymer comprising as co-monomers at least one ester of acrylic acid with an alcohol and at least one ester of vinyl alcohol with a carboxylic acid, or alternatively, an acrylic, styrene or butadiene latex; and a chemically modified starch.
