Abstract: A sympathetic detonation barrier for a munition includes a generally cylindrical polyethylene sleeve disposed over the munition. Preferably, the sleeve comprises HDPE. The sleeve may include vent openings in a side wall. In one embodiment, the sleeve extends from substantially a rear end of the munition to substantially a rear end of a fuze well of the munition.

Abstract: A container has at least one seam, the at least one seam having a joined portion and an unjoined portion. A seal seals the unjoined portion of the seam, the seal being operative to fail due to internal pressure before a remainder of the container. The container may be cylindrical, comprise metal and have at least one longitudinal seam. Generally, the joined portion comprises a weld. The seal may comprise one or more of a fluid adhesive, a gasket, a patch and an I-shaped gasket. A cover attached to the container with fasteners may at least partially cover the seal to protect it from damage.

Abstract: Shaped charges that generate fan-like jets can produce slotted holes in rock formations. A shaped charge includes a case having on open front end, an external surface and a longitudinal axis, all transverse cross-sections of the case being bi-symmetric; an explosive material disposed in the case, the case including at least one opening extending from the external surface to the explosive material for initiation of the explosive material; and a liner disposed over the explosive material; wherein a pair of substantially identical longitudinal slots are formed on the external surface, the longitudinal slots being about 180 degrees apart.

Abstract: A toothbrush comprises a handle having an elongated head mounted to the handle. The head has a longitudinally central portion which comprises a plurality of longitudinally aligned segments connected to each other by a joint. Cleaning elements are mounted to the segments and extend outwardly from the outer surface of the head. A shelf-like protrusion extends laterally outwardly from each side of the central section. Further cleaning elements are flexibly mounted to the protrusions. Preferably the shelf-like protrusions are covered with an elastomer. The central section is made of a harder material than the material of the covered protrusions.

Abstract: A powered toothbrush to provide oral hygiene having a brush section with a first bristle carrier that is powered and driven to rotate in a first path of motion. A second bristle field including a plurality of brush elements extends from a base support of the brush section. An extension member having an end attached to the first bristle carrier and extending outwardly therefrom and at least partially into the second bristle field is also provided on the brush section whereby the extension moves upon movement of the first bristle carrier in the first path of motion to move the second bristle field in a second path of motion. The bristle fields may include a variety of elastomeric and/or non-elastomeric bristles to provide cleaning, polishing, whitening and stimulation to the teeth and gums.
