  • Patent number: 8297200
Abstract: An axlebox retainer key (50) is disclosed for fitting to a pedestal leg (24) of a sideframe of a rail wagon bogie. The key (50) comprises a body which has a basal projection (52) which extends in use into a cavity or hole (42) which is formed in the pedestal leg (24). The key (50) also has an upper surface recess (60) which is arranged to receive a locking pin (66) which can be axially inserted to maintain the key (50) at the pedestal leg (24). The locking pin (66) is also inserted via the pedestal leg side wall (30) which incorporates a through-hole (82) through which the locking pin (66) is passed. To install the key (50), an operator first positions the basal projection (52) of the key (50) in the cavity or a hole (42) that is formed in the pedestal leg (24), and then moves the locking pin 66 across the key (50) via the through-hole (82) in the side wall (30) so as to secure the key (50) to the pedestal (24).

  • Patent number: 8298784
Abstract: An in vitro process for the detection and early detection of neurodegenerative diseases, for determination of the severity, and to evaluate the progression of and render a prognoses of neurogenerative diseases, in a patient suffering from a subjectively or objectively detectable cognitive impairment, by determining the concentration of an analyte selected from natriuretic peptides, in particular ANP, and, if necessary, BNP and/or CNP in a biological fluid of the patient, whereby the determination of the analyte is performed directly and/or indirectly as the determination of a relevant co-peptide generated from a mutual propeptide, and is based upon the measured concentration of the determined analyte thus making it possible to form conclusions about a neurodegenerative disease or an early form typical of such a disease or the course of the disease and/or the success of the efforts to relieve or prevent the disease.

  • Patent number: 8301076
Abstract: Two or more wireless devices can be independently controlled by their respective users, a mixer component, or a leader wireless device to perform audio recording, convert the recorded audio into a standard or proprietary audio stream format, and transmit the audio stream to a server. The real-time clocks of two or more participating wireless devices can be synchronized. A wireless device can insert timestamps into the audio stream to facilitate the mixing operation. Mixing of the two or more audio streams recorded by wireless devices can be performed by a mixer component either in real time (contemporaneously with the recording) or asynchronously with respect to the recording. The mixing can be performed in a fully automated mode, and/or in an operator-assisted mode.

  • Patent number: 8297466
Abstract: A sewage tank for use with a pump such as a grinder pump to convey sewage. The sewage tank includes a container having an upper portion and a lower tapering portion defining a chamber for containing the pump. The lower tapering portion has a reduced size compared to the upper portion. The upper portion and the lower portion may include a plurality of intersecting vertical ribs and horizontal ribs defining a plurality of recessed pockets. The lower portion of the sewage tank may also include an outwardly-extending flange sufficiently sized so that soil may be backfilled around the bottom of the tank to prevent the tank from floating upward out of the ground due to its buoyancy under high ground water conditions. The sewage tank may also include a stepped flange.

  • Patent number: 8292425
Abstract: A pair of eyeglasses includes a lens, a couple of right and left elastically deformable frames attached to respective side end portions of the lens, and a couple of right and left temples attached to the respective frames. A frame fitting portion is provided at each of the side end portions of the lens and a lens fitting hole is provided in a front portion of each of the frames. The frame fitting portion fits into the lens fitting hole so that the lens is detachably attached to each of the frames. The volume of the frames is reduced to lighten the weight of the eyeglasses as a whole. With the eyeglasses, a forward vision of a wearer is guaranteed when he leans forward, and easy lens exchange is achieved.
