  • Patent number: 5935014
Abstract: This invention is concerned with apparatus for diagnosing the characteristics of a golf swing, of the type in which one or more magnets attached to the golf club create signals in pick-up loops located near the ball position, or analysis to provide a readout of swing characteristics such as dynamic loft, dynamic lie (rake), impact position at the club-face, speed, and club face angle. Such apparatus is now improved by causing at least one loop or loop combination to be formed to provide at least two generally identical loop portions located side-by-side across the ideal swing path A-B with their respective adjacent edges parallel and closely spaced for defining therebetween a notional center line across the said path as an accurate sensed position. This is more accurate than sensing a single loop edge, and more sensitive.

  • Patent number: 5933180
Abstract: A thermal print module and method includes a two-part snap-together housing and encloses a heated print element. An insulated spring finger is integrally formed on one housing part to move the heated print element for receiving a thermal-sensitive ink carrier for loading it into its printing position within the unit, wherein the spring finger protects the user from inadvertently touching the heated element. A two-position lever is used alternatively to move the heated print element for carrier loading purposes. A sensor is activated by the lever to de-activate electrically the print module during carrier loading operations.

  • Patent number: 5918879
Abstract: The device includes a magazine for storing divider films to separate sheets output by an office machine and deposited directly in stacks, wherein the divider films are placed between discrete groups of associated sheets. In order to be able to associate the sheet groups separated by the divider films with particular users of the office machine, different types of divider films, for example differently colored divider films, are used. The different types of divider films are identified by an automatically detectable identifying code and are deposited onto the sheet stack according to this identifying code.

  • Patent number: 5889754
Abstract: The invention relates to a magazine having a plurality of disk drawers which are mounted in disk-holding compartments and each of which holds a single disk (CD), all of the disk drawers being lockable in and releasable from the magazine by means of a single, common disk drawer locking mechanism and the magazine being capable of insertion into a machine. In order to create a magazine of straightforward, compact and economical design having as few components and being as simple to assemble as possible, the disk drawer locking mechanism is integral with the magazine. The disk drawer locking mechanism and the magazine are constructed as a one-piece injection molded unit in plastic and the disk drawer locking mechanism has a locking catch and a release tab which are joined to the magazine or an outer panel of the magazine by means of a common, elastic fulcrum bar and which pivot conjointly around the centre axis of the fulcrum bar thereby acting against its spring action.

  • Patent number: 5878953
Abstract: A multiple section irrigation sprinkler system incorporating pilot operated, pressure actuated and sequenced valve assemblies incorporates controllable device to increase or decrease the water pressure in the water supply lines at a controllable rate. The system includes a dump valve to relieve the water pressure during the pressure reduction cycle to eliminate or at least greatly reduce water hammer effects. The dump valve has a flow rate substantially less than the flow rate of the device for increasing or decreasing the water pressure in the water supply lines. The dump valve is prevented from transitioning from the open position to the closed position below predetermined pressure levels selected to prevent false sequencing of the pilot operated, pressure actuated and sequenced valve assemblies.

  • Patent number: 5859623
Abstract: An intelligent display system presentation projection arrangement and method include the conversion of presentation display information into portable document format information for supplying it to an intelligent display system, which subsequently converts the portable document formation information to presentation display information. A controller responds to the converted information for controlling a projection display unit for causing the display presentation images to be projected onto a remotely located viewing surface. The intelligent display system of the arrangement replaces the separate computer with a unit which is either connected to the projection display unit, or incorporated therein. By utilizing the conversion to portable document format information, any computer platform may be employed, and the information is displayed at the highest resolution available to the projection display unit.
