  • Patent number: 7322550
Abstract: A magnetic holder for holding a non-magnetic sheet against a magnetically attractive surface contains a body having a first end and a second end, an upper surface and a lower surface. The body is formed from a first material having a first co-efficient of friction. The lower surface has a first portion and a second portion. The first portion is joined to the second portion at a fulcrum line that defines an obtuse angle between the first portion and the second portion for preventing the first and second portions from engaging the magnetically attractive surface simultaneously. A magnet member is disposed on the second portion for magnetically coupling the holder to the magnetically attractive surface. A first gripping member is disposed on the second portion for frictionally gripping the non-magnetic sheet.

  • Patent number: 7243649
Abstract: An anesthesia delivery device can be coupled to a ventilation system. The device includes an inspiratory gas line having a machine end and a patient end. The machine end can be fluidly coupled to the ventilation system, and the patient end can be received within the naris of the patient. A face mask having a dome portion can cover the patient's nose without covering the patient's mouth and defines an inside air space between the patient's nose and the dome portion, and an outside air space exterior of the dome portion. A vent allows gas to pass between the inside and outside air spaces. An exhaust port can be fluidly coupled to the exhaust gas output. The exhaust port and vent can cooperatively exert a negative pressure on the outside air space for preventing inspiratory gas from entering the outside air space.

  • Patent number: 7232304
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention a hobbyist-useable apparatus and method for fabricating decoratively shaped writing instruments is disclosed. The apparatus for fabricating decoratively shaped writing instruments having a casing includes a heater unit and a shaper unit. The heater unit includes a heat source, and a heating compartment having an opening for inserting and removing the writing instrument casing. The heat source provides heat to the heating compartment. The shaper unit includes a platform having an elongated slot, an exterior mold assembly attachable to the platform and moveable in the elongated slot; an exterior shaping surface coupled to the exterior mold assembly; and an interior mold insert having an interior shaping surface. The interior mold insert is attachable to the platform such that the movement of the exterior mold assembly in the elongated slot moves the exterior shaping surface towards and away from the interior shaping surface.

  • Patent number: 7201168
Abstract: A non-tracheal ventilation tube includes a multi-lumen tube shaft having a proximal end and a distal end, a proximal cuff and a distal cuff. The multi-lumen tube shaft is separated into a ventilation channel extending from a proximal ventilation opening to a distal ventilation opening, a suction channel extending from a proximal suction opening to a distal suction opening, and an inflation channel. The proximal cuff is attached to the tube shaft and is connected to the inflation channel for inflation and deflation. The distal cuff is attached to the tube shaft on the distal side of the proximal cuff and is connected to the inflation channel for inflation and deflation. The proximal suction opening and the proximal ventilation opening are located on the proximal side of the proximal cuff. The distal suction opening is located on the distal side of the distal cuff. The distal ventilation opening is located between the proximal cuff and the distal cuff.

  • Patent number: 7178521
Abstract: A unilimb breathing circuit has a proximal end coupling member, a distal end coupling member, an expiratory tube extending between the proximal and distal end coupling members, and an inspiratory tube extending between the proximal and distal end coupling members. The expiratory tube is a corrugated expiratory tube that is expandable between a fully compressed rest position, and a fully expanded rest position, and has a plurality of intermediate rest positions. At the plurality of intermediate rest positions, the expiratory tube is capable of maintaining its rest length without the exertion of an external force. The inspiratory tube is a corrugated inspiratory tube having a length that is variable between a fully compressed rest position and a fully expanded rest position, and includes a plurality of intermediate rest positions between the fully expanded rest position and the fully compressed rest position.

  • Patent number: 7174915
Abstract: A valve is provided for use in a domestic water re-circulation system The valve has a unitary body member that includes an upstream end and an upstream portion disposed adjacent to the upstream end. The body member also includes a downstream end and a downstream portion disposed adjacent to the downstream end; and a middle portion disposed between the upstream portion and the downstream portion. A radially outwardly facing outer wall and a radially upwardly facing inner wall exist. The radially inner facing wall defines an axially extending passageway extending between the upstream end and the downstream end, and through the upstream portion, middle portion and downstream portion of the body. The axially extending passageway includes a corresponding upstream end, a downstream end, an upstream portion, a middle portion and a downstream portion. The body further includes a radially extending controller port and a radially extending flow limiter port in fluid communication with the axially extending passageway.
