Abstract: Injectable pharmaceutical compositions are provided which comprise fine particles of amoxycillin trihydrate coated with a dispersing agent, the ratio of amoxycillin trihydrate to dispersing agent being from 1000:1 to 20:1. A preferred dispersing agent is a mixture of polyvinylpyrrolidone and lecithin. Such compositions give surprising prolonged blood levels of amoxycillin after administration. The compositions can be used in the treatment of both humans and domestic animals.

Abstract: Compounds of the formula I ##STR1## and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof wherein R.sup.1 is hydrogen or lower alkyl and R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are the same or different and each is hydrogen, lower alkoxy or halo, in combination with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier have been found to be useful as nootropic agents.
Abstract: Liquid detergent fabric conditioning compositions are prepared which are useful for providing detergency, fabric softening and anti-static properties to fabrics during the wash cycle in the laundering process which comprises from about 2% to about 12% of a cationic fabric conditioning agent having fabric softening and anti-static properties, from about 10% to about 50% of a nonionic surfactant having detergent properties which is compatible with said cationic fabric conditioning agent, and an aqueous solvent system.
Abstract: Cured resins of high fracture toughness are prepared from N,N'-bisimides of formula I ##STR1## and alkenyl compounds of formula IID(G).sub.m IIin which D is an m-valent group and G represents a phenyl ring having at least one alkenyl (e.g. allyl or 1-propenyl) substituent.
Abstract: A snorkel camera system has a light-admitting opening at one end of a housing and the prime lens of a camera connected to the other end of the housing, and the housing is rotatably mounted on the prime lens such that the housing can be rotated about the camera to any desired position, the optical system being such that the image seen in the view-finder of the camera is maintained in the correct attitude regardless of the position to which the snorkel housing is rotated.
Abstract: A composition and method of cleansing and regenerating contaminated filtration membranes is described together with the synergized antimicrobial aqueous solution of an inorganic peroxide and a polymeric solubilized iodine complex. The membrane to be regenerated is of the type used in ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis and microfiltration and the construction and composition of the member is per se known.
Abstract: Crystalline anhydrous amoxycillin is prepared by removing bound solvent molecules from a crystalline solvate (other than the trihydrate) of amoxycillin. A preferred crystalline solvate is the monomethanolate.
Abstract: An administration set which is suitable for giving an infusion of liquid to a patient by gravity flow from a container of liquid through the set and to the patient comprises a fluid reservoir, a flow regulator and a barostat device which compensates for changes in fluid pressure during the infusion. The fluid reservoir is positioned upstream of the flow regulator and the barostat device is downstream of the flow regulator. In a preferred embodiment a piercing needle connects with a closable tube and injection site which enter the main body of the reservoir by a secure seal. One side of the top of the reservoir extends in a curving manner to be in front of the closable tube and joins an air channel that leads to an airtight chamber which holds the barostat device. An outlet passage leads from the bottom of the reservoir to a collapsible region and descends to an outlet tube which leads via the regulator to the barostat device.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an elastic apertured film which contains voids. The film comprises a blend of polyurethane and an incompatible polymer which forms a discrete phase within the matrix of polyurethane. The film is in the form of a net. The area of apertures is 5 to 75% of the total area of the film or alternatively, the film is in the form of an interrupted film containing a pattern of holes which have a maximum dimension of not more than 3 times the thickness of the film.

Abstract: This terminal is consisting of two elements, one of which is formed by a metal coupling mechanism (1) a first ring (2) connected to the coupling mechanism (1) and a second ring (6) connected to the first ring (2) by means of a narrow lower link (5), so that the second ring (6) is externally projecting beyond the first ring (2), whereas the other element is formed by a hollow, tubular insulating envelope or sleeve internally featuring various subsequent shapes, i.e. a flaring or bellmouth (8) forming an initial step (9), followed by an annular recess (10), a second step (11) almost centrically located with respect to a cylindrical end section (12), so that the terminal to be used by the operator is obtained by introducing the second ring (6) in the sleeve (7) until it is positioned in the annular recess (10) and resting against the first step (9). After connection to the lead by crimping the first ring (2), the sleeve is moved axially so as to uncover the coupling zone, i.e.
