Abstract: A single or double hung window assembly has a rectangular main frame supporting at least one rectangular sash frame for vertical sliding movement, and each frame has members formed from extrusions including rigid plastics material. A horizontal upper sash rail or member is reinforced by an elongated and continuous metal stiffening channel having a width substantially greater than its height and defining a longitudinally extending and upwardly facing undercut cavity. End portions of the stiffening channel support retractable sliding tilt latch bolts each having a snap-fit connection to a corresponding actuator slidably mounted on the upper sash rail. A sash lock member is also mounted on the upper sash rail and is secured to the stiffening channel. A pre-assembly of the stiffening channel and latch bolts is inserted through an opening in a vertical sash frame member, and stiffening channels are also inserted into other sash frame members.

A shipping insert of extruded substantially rigid plastics material supports the windshield and attached molding during shipping and handling and includes a base portion adapted to seat on shipping container support members and a tongue portion spaced above the base portion and projecting through the inlet gap into the cavity to support the molding. The insert also has an upper portion supporting a solid locating flange of the molding attached to a bottom edge of the windshield. The base portion of the insert has inclined opposite edge surfaces to facilitate sliding on the support members, and also has an upwardly projecting hook rib for retaining the insert on the molding.

Abstract: A support system for a cooling fan for a heat exchanger. A suspension system supports an inner hub inside an outer support structure. The inner hub or ring supports the fan and motor. The suspension system includes an array of spiral support arms, extending from the inner hub to the outer supports. These arms have both spanwise and chordwise camber. Abstract: A plurality of elongated panels of light transmitting plastics sheet material each have longitudinally extending parallel spaced ribs and longitudinally extending co-planner opposite edge portions. An elongated support member for each panel has a base portion secured to the opposite edge portions of the panel adjacent the upper end portion of the panel and includes a hook portion adapted to engage a hook-shaped support rail mounted on a building over a window or door opening. Each hook portion has end surfaces recessed inwardly from opposite edge surfaces of the panel and provide for overlapping edge portions of adjacent panels. The lower end portion of an outer panel is supported by a sill bracket mounted on the building under the opening and receives a U-shaped track member secured to the panel. The bracket and track member are connected by pull pins located within the ribs of the outer panel.
