  • Patent number: 6062973
Abstract: A cutting tool is provided which includes a cutter blade assembly. The cutter blade assembly is adaptable to a universal power head. The cutter blade assembly includes a pair of plates pivotally mounted on the power head. The pair of plates are mounted in a parallel spaced relationship to each other to form a space therebetween. Each plate of the pair of plates has an inside edge on one end thereof. The cutter blade assembly also includes a cutter blade mounted on the power head for pivotal motion in the space between tne pair of plates and a cutting edge on the cutter blade. The cutting edge has at least one point therealong which is contained in an imaginary line transverse to imaginary lines containing the inside edges of each plate of the pair of plates. The cutter blade and the pair of plates pivot simultaneously in opposite directions with respect to each other for the cutting edge of the cutter blade to cooperate with the inside edges of each plate of the pair of plates to cut a material to be cut.

  • Patent number: 6059240
Abstract: The invention provides a portable bow holder which is removably attached to a tree or other vertical support. The device has an arm that is adjustable in length and is capable of rotating horizontally around the point of attachment so that the holder may be aimed in varying directions around the hunter. A bow hook for holding the bow is also adjustable in a vertical plane to allow the hunter to position the bow at the proper height. In a preferred embodiment, the arm of the device automatically retracts out of the hunter's line of vision when the weight of the bow is removed, thereby enhancing the hunter's opportunity to successfully target the prey. Preferably, the rate of retraction of the arm can be adjusted by the hunter by rotating a hydraulic cylinder attached to both the arm and body of the device. The device also requires little movement by the user and therefore promotes a success hunt and hunter safety.

  • Patent number: 6045448
Abstract: A drive assembly couples a driving mechanism, e.g., an engine, and a driven mechanism, e.g., a generator, to one another. The assembly includes a transmission member having a plurality of inwardly projecting fingers and a coupling having a plurality of outwardly directed projections interdigitated with the fingers. The projections include first and second projections which define a notch between them. A finger extends into the notch, thereby forming first and second pockets between the finger and the first and second projections, respectively. In the improvement, the first and second resilient devices are received in the first and second pockets, respectively. Each resilient device includes at least one spur projecting from it to prevent substantial rotation of the device in its pocket. In a more specific embodiment, alternating pairs of resilient devices are made, respectively, of natural rubber for good shock absorption and Buna N for resisting the harmful effects of oil.

  • Patent number: 6041868
Abstract: A mechanism for controlling raised and lowered positions of a hitch-mounted implement includes a rotatable control knob coupled to a transducer, e.g., a potentiometer, for movement between first and second positions representing the raised and lowered positions, respectively, of the implement. The control knob has a button for locking the mechanism in the implement-transport position and for other purposes. A position knob includes a tang-like stop for limiting rotation of the control knob toward the second position. The position knob thereby "sets" a lowered position of the implement which is somewhat above the lowest possible position of the implement. The position knob may be rotated to locate the stop anywhere between two barriers which set the overall limits of travel of the control knob. Most preferably, the position knob is clamped between a barrier member and a console surface and is frictionally inhibited from rotating.

The mounting arrangement also includes functional elements which support electronic built-in elements, such as heating elements, cables or similar. The electronic built-in elements can be easily mounted with few parts by molding an assembly unit and the frame unit into a one-piece assembly having separatable areas. The assembly unit has a tub-shaped base body and the assembly unit includes a floor unit. The functional elements are at least partially molded into the assembly unit.

  • Patent number: 6023995
Abstract: A vehicle accelerator pedal apparatus has a fixed base (i.e., a base fixed with respect to the vehicle upon which the apparatus is used) and an accelerator pedal pivot-mounted with respect to the base. The improvement comprises a frame pivot-mounted with respect to the base and defining an included angle therebetween. A sensor is mounted on the frame and an articulated linkage extends between the pedal and the sensor. A position-adjustment mechanism coacts between the base and the frame and sets the included angle. In a highly preferred embodiment, the mechanism includes plural, spaced-apart apertures through a base wall. Each aperture is in registry with a separate radial normal to the pedal pivot axis and by extending a pin through any one of the apertures, the included angle between the fixed base and the movable frame may be adjusted. In a specific embodiment, the spacing between any adjacent pair of radials is about 6.degree..
