  • Patent number: 4459094
Abstract: A plodder outlet assembly for producing a bicolored detergent bar comprising a first plodder outlet for delivering a first mass of detergent material to a compaction chamber. Four pipes are provided for delivering a second detergent material to the compaction chamber. These pipes extend into the compaction chamber and abut the inner walls thereof leaving a cruciform space for the first detergent material. The compaction chamber is slightly conical in configuration for compaction purposes and so that material flowing beyond the ends of the pipes will envelope the second detergent material.

  • Patent number: 4439355
Abstract: An elastic detergent product of improved form-retaining ability during elevated temperature storage and of improved foaming power after use comprises an organic detergent which is an ammonium or lower alkanolammonium anionic organic detergent salt or a mixture of such anionic detergent with amphoteric synthetic organic detergent, gelatin and a lower di- or polyhydric alcohol. The products made, which are essentially free of water, or anhydrous, and often are of bar, cake or shaped article forms, are of improved thermal stability, allowing them to be stored at higher temperatures than comparable products, without distortion, and do not readily form inhibiting gel structures or coatings after use, which could otherwise diminish foaming power. Also within the invention is a method of making the described detergent products.

  • Patent number: 4436525
Abstract: A solid alcohol fuel for starting charcoal or wood fires which burns without melting or flowing, comprising an anhydrous gel consisting essentially of a major proportion of an alcohol mixture of methanol and isopropanol in the weight ratio of about 3:1, and a fatty acid soap gelling agent. The alcohol content preferably constitutes at least about 85% by weight of the total composition. The fatty acid soap gelling agent is made in situ by reacting anhydrous sodium hydroxide dissolved in anhydrous methanol with a fatty acid dissolved in an anhydrous mixture of methanol and isopropanol.

  • Patent number: 4432471
Abstract: A dispenser comprising a container having an upper section and a lower section. A perforated plate separates the upper section from the lower section. A first product is within the lower section with an air space existing between the first product and the plate. A deformable membrane or pliable bag overlies the plate. A second product is in the upper section with the membrane or bag separating the second product from the plate. A lower delivery tube section is connected to the lower section of the container, an upper delivery tube section being connected to said upper section of the container. There is a nozzle communicating with the delivery tube sections, and a pump on the container for introducing air under pressure into the air space for simultaneously forcing the first and second products through the nozzle.

  • Patent number: 4366631
Abstract: There is disclosed an athletic shoe that finds most efficacy with joggers. The shoe is supplied with a conventional upper and sole. The usual lacing arrangement is provided with the exception that additional lacing means is provided along both sides of the shoe whereby the counter containing heel portion of the shoe is constrained in a manner so that the heel portion of the athletic shoe is brought inward in the direction of the centerline of the shoe to effectively lock the heel portion with the front portion. The tying arrangement may be a continuation of the usual lacings or may be two separate laces, but in any event essentially locks the front and back of the shoe together. The lace arrangement extending to the counter or heel portion is positioned whereby the means is substantially parallel to a "spring" ligament as normally located in the foot.
