  • Patent number: 4231362
Abstract: An anesthesia ventilation system for controlling gas flow through a patient breathing circuit by the inflation and deflation of a bellows that is outwardly expandable in a predetermined direction comprises a relief valve mounted in an outwardly expandable portion of the bellows, with the valve being biased to a normally closed position but being openable by an external pressure applied against the valve. A valve actuating member mounted in the bellows canister top plate in an adjustable position relative to the bellows engages and opens the valve and relieves the pressure in the bellows after the bellows has expanded outwardly a predetermined distance. The engagement of the valve actuating member with the valve also serves to block further outward expansion of the bellows. This limits the volume of gas contained in the bellows to a predetermined maximum amount.

  • Patent number: 4204356
Abstract: An underwater fishing lure reciprocating device for downrigger trolling apparatus comprises a mounting member that is attached to the end of the downrigger cable and a reciprocating member movably mounted on the mounting member. The reciprocating member includes a clip for holding the fishing line which reciprocates with movement of the reciprocating member with respect to the mounting member. An underwater drive means causes the reciprocating member to reciprocate at least when the device is being towed behind a boat. Desirably, the reciprocating member and drive means are a waterwheel having baffles that are formed and attached such that the wheel rotates when it is towed behind a boat. The clip is attached to a trailing arm that is eccentrically mounted on the wheel. A stabilizing fin holds the waterwheel in a vertical position with its axis perpendicular to the direction of movement of the wheel.

  • Patent number: 4202127
Abstract: A fishing lure having two bodies connected together such that the bodies rattle against each other as the lure moves through water. Each body comprises a metal plate bent to form a front portion and a back portion. The back portion has a longitudinal bend so that each side of the back portion extends slightly downwardly to the side edge thereof. The front portion is bent upwardly with respect to the back portion. The front portion has a longitudinal bend wherein each side extends upwardly to the side edge thereof. The front and rear portions of each metal plate have conforming shapes so that the top plate nests in the bottom plate. The front portion of the top plate is bent at a greater upward angle with respect to its rear portion than the upward angle of the bend of the front portion of the bottom plate with respect to its rear portion. Holes extend through each end of each plate.

  • Patent number: 4195875
Abstract: A portable entranceway carpet for a recreational vehicle comprises a carpet for the entranceway or doorway of a recreational vehicle and a storage container for the carpet mounted at a convenient location on the exterior of the vehicle, such that the carpet is stored outside the recreational vehicle at all times, and it is not necessary to bring the dirty carpet into the vehicle after it has been used in camping. In one aspect of the invention, the container is mounted under a door sill at the side of the recreational vehicle and includes a spring biased roller for supporting the carpet in the container. The roller can be unrolled from the container through a slot in the side thereof, and a latch mechanism holds the roller at a desired extended position. The latch mechanism is manually releasable to automatically retract the carpet into the container. Brushes mounted along the slot in the container automatically remove dirt and debris from the carpet when it is retracted into the container.

  • Patent number: 4190408
Abstract: Apparatus for automatically loading and unloading a press having vertically movable die halves comprises a frame positioned adjacent the press, a movable carriage mounted in the frame for longitudinal movement toward and away from the press, and a blank holding table mounted in the movable carriage for rotation about a horizontal axis, with a gripping mechanism for holding blanks being mounted on one side of the table and a nesting device for holding finished products being mounted on the other side of the table. The gripping mechanism holds blanks in a position that duplicates the charge placement pattern in the mold. The apparatus is operated by a control mechanism such that after blanks are placed in the gripping mechanism, the gripping mechanism is actuated to hold them to the table and the table is turned upside down. The table is then extended to a position between the separated halves of the die, and the gripping mechanism is released, causing the blanks to be transferred to the lower mold cavity.

  • Patent number: 4174678
Abstract: A cable coating apparatus comprising a container mounted on a pole; two trolley wheels mounted within the container at an upper portion thereof for engagement with a supportive wire that supports a cable by spaced connectors, and nozzles mounted within the container pointed at the cable. Pivotably mounted within lower portion of the container is an upwardly spring biased lever arm with a roller mounted thereon in abutment with the underside of the cable. Two nozzles are mounted at the free end of the lever arm pointing upwardly to the cable. Two more nozzles are movably mounted at an upper portion of the container pointing downwardly to the cable. The supply conduit operably connects the nozzles to a supply tank and pump.

  • Patent number: 4152084
Abstract: A portable floor finish applicator includes a pressurized liquid finish storage tank carried by a shoulder harness on the operator's back and a hand carried floor finish applicator comprising a hollow elongated handle and an applicator head mounted on the lower end of the handle. The applicator includes a liquid finish outlet tube for dispensing liquid finish uniformly over the surface of an applicator frame and wick applicator mounted on the underside of the applicator frame. Finish is applied through the wick by contact of the soaked wick with the floor. For water emulsion finishes, the wick applicator can be formed of a natural or synthetic lambs wool or it can be a flexible absorbent fibrous yarn material attached to a mesh backing material that permits liquid finish to flow readily through the backing.
