Abstract: A device to prevent the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle through restriction or blocking of movement of the gear shift lever, mounted on the steering column, into an operative forward or reverse gear unless the ignition lock is physically moved from an ignition off position to an ignition on position. The device engages and therefore interacts with both the ignition lock and the gear shift lever to assume the blocking position relative to movement of the gear shift lever until the aforementioned lock is physically turned to the ignition on position.

Abstract: A cutting tool designed to provide a straight line cut through plastic or like material conduit and incorporating pivoted handles respectively including a cutting blade and a positioning anvil formed at the distal ends thereof and in cooperative relation to one another so that the conduit product positioned in the anvil will be maintained in a cutting position to achieve an accurate straight line cut. A return spring, a stop element and a closed end configuration are provided on the remainder of the handles, substantially adjacent to the proximal ends thereof to prevent nesting engagement of the handles during the cutting operation and maintain predetermined spaced relation between the ends of the handle so as to insure their separation and return to a cutting position once gripping pressure is released.

Abstract: A trap assembly designed to catch and maintain birds, preferably pigeons, within a storage space of the trap assembly without injuring or harming the birds during the trapping or storing procedure. A closure and entrance of the assembly are cooperatively structured to allow passage of a bird through the entrance and into engagement with the closure element which will be displaced upon such engagement into a non-covering relation to the entrance allowing the bird to pass therethrough but preventing any bird collected within the storage space to exit the entrance thereof.

Abstract: A system for the economic and efficient ventilating, cooling and heating of an enclosed space, such as a room or rooms within a building, through controlled ventilation of room air between an upper hotter building portion and a lower cooler building portion with the portions constituting different temperature zones in the building. The system includes a reversible ceiling fan facility and motorized inlets in the lower building portion and motorized outlets in the upper building portion, the inlets and motorized outlets being formed in the building and communicating with the exterior thereof.

Abstract: In one embodiment, the mercury float switch includes a sealed, partially mercury filled bent tube having two contact leads extending from one end. A shroud of plastic, injection molded material covers the portion of the tube where the two contact leads extend. The shroud is formed to have two opposing pivot arms extending therefrom. Each pivot arm encapsulates a respective lead. Connecting wires are electrically connected to each contact lead and the insulation surrounding the connecting wires is also encapsulated within a corresponding pivot arm. A foamed plastic, buoyant body completely encapsulates the tube as well as the shroud except for the ends of the pivot arms. This buoyant body is retained in a housing structure which has journals on opposing walls thereof which retain the pivot arms and allow the bouyant body pivot assembly to rotate freely on the pivots. The housing structure limits the rotational movement of the buoyant body.

Abstract: A reverberating platform structure usable as an exercise floor or, depending upon the configuration thereof, for the support of people or objects thereon wherein the platform is supported by an anchor structure above a foundation such that there is an open space between the foundation and the undersurface of the platform. The anchor structure may be essentially flexible so as to provide a giving or flexible structure to the platform for a person to exercise, dance, or otherwise move thereon. An agitator assembly primarily in the form of a plurality of speakers are disposed within the space immediately adjacent to the space slightly from the undersurface of the supporting platform wherein activation of the speakers causes vibration to be communicated directly to the platform but wherein the platform is further structured not to generate specific sounds therefrom so as to be considered part of the speaker system itself.

Abstract: A damper or muffler assembly for a cymbal of the type used in combination with a set of drums and played by striking repeatedly the cymbal with a drumstick. The assembly comprises a plurality of switch mechanisms manually and automatically operable to position a clamping assembly into operative and clamping position relative to the cymbal so as to render it immovable, when clamped, thereby dampening the sound issuing therefrom.

Abstract: A liquid level sensor and controlling assembly disposed and mounted in direct communication with a reservoir of liquid to be monitored and including a float structure connected to an elongated stem formed of magnetic material which is disposed to selectively move, in accordance with the movement of the upper surface level of the liquid between a primary coil and a secondary coil. A constant voltage supplied to the primary coil results in a magnetic flux and a voltage being induced into the secondary coil based upon position of the magnetic material stem relative to the secondary coil thereby determining that the induced voltage in the secondary coil is directly related to the level of the liquid since the position of the magnetic stem within the secondary coil is controlled by the level of liquid within the reservoir.

Abstract: A hand operable tool designed for use in connecting tube ends to couplers and like elements commonly used in lawn irrigation equipment. The tool comprises a head portion disposable between an open and closed position by the manipulation of handles wherein the distal ends of two arms of the head portion are bifurcated so as to effectively surround and retain ends of tubes so as to force, through clamping such tubes into attachment with an interconnecting coupling member, tee member, etc. The second gripping portion on the gripping head is designed to clamp between the arm the coupler, tee member, etc., to cause removal thereof from one or both of the tube ends wherein use of the tool greatly facilitates the reduction of effort and time in the assembly or disassembly of tubes and tube fittings in lawn irrigation equipment.

Abstract: The segmented cigarette includes combustible inside and outside tubular walls that are spaced from each other by ridges extending therebetween. The inside wall holds a plurality of elongated segments of tobacco aligned end to end. Different tobaccos may be utilized in each segment. The upstream, axial end of each segment is sealed by paper. The inside wall includes a plurality of gas passages therethrough near the axial end seal such that gas from the burning end of the cigarette passes through those passages into the interspace between the outside and inside walls, expands and cools. This cooling and expansion reduces the accumulation of noxious substances in the segments of tobacco downstream.

Abstract: A mounting assembly for use in the adjustable supporting of various components of a colonic irrigation or flushing apparatus of the type which directs irrigating fluid, by gravity flow, through a flow monitoring device and therefrom through appropriate conduit to an introduction element which is designed to be inserted in the colon entrance for direct delivery of irrigating fluid thereto. The mounting assembly includes an elongated base having a plurality of connecting elements on which various components, such as the supply container and monitoring device are supported and further, wherein the connecting elements are structured for selective movement and placement thereof along the length of the base so as to properly position the supply container, monitoring device and depending conduit and introduction element in a preferred location relative to one another and the user of the apparatus being treated.

Abstract: A flashback structure of the type primarily designed to be used in combination with a catheter assembly and more specifically structured to provide clear visual indication of blood flow along a circuitous path of fluid flow which is indicative of proper placement of the sharpened tip of a needle in a blood vessel. Blood flow is retained within the path of fluid flow by a cover sleeve disposed in covering relation to the flow path.

Abstract: The security detection and location system includes a plurality of monitoring stations that are spaced from each other. Each monitoring station includes its own solar rechargeable battery, a receiver, an alarm circuit and a communications device such as a telephone dialer or a radio frequency (RF) transmitter. The security system operates in conjunction with a plurality of portable transmitters that can be actuated to transmit a distress signal by a person carrying one of the transmitters. When the portable transmitter issues a distress signal, the receiver in a monitoring station issues a command signal which activates two independent circuits, the alarm circuit and the communications circuit. The alarm circuit generates an audible sound in the locale of the monitoring station and the communications circuit sends a signal unique to that monitor to a central response or control unit.

Abstract: An alarm assembly specifically designed to warn sleeping occupants within a dwelling structure as to the occurrence of earth tremors such as those caused by relatively serious earthquakes wherein an activating member is movably positioned relative to a supporting base and is sensitive to such earth tremors to the extent of being displaced within a predetermined range of movement and into activating engagement with a switching assembly also mounted on said base to cause operation and/or activation of preferably an audio alarm to awaken the sleeping occupants.

Abstract: A door security system for the protection of a lock as well as a set of hinges both associated with a door wherein the security system includes a wrap-around cover plate covering surface portions of the exterior and interior of the door adjacent the lock and the lock side surface around the bolt plate of the lock. In addition, structures designed to protect each of the plurality of hinges serving to hang the door on the hinge jamb thereof include a wrap-around cover plate and hinge pin fittings on the inside of the door and a jamb plate and a vertical bar attached to an exterior section which includes a bar surface that is adjacent to a vertically extensive, exterior surface end region of the hinge cover plate when the door is closed.

Abstract: An assembly of furniture comprising an upstanding base including at least one and preferably a plurality of stanchions to which at least one or a plurality of support platforms are pivotally attached wherein the support platforms are structured to have fixedly secured thereto horizontally oriented panel members themselves structured to be supporting surfaces for serving, eating, display, etc. The support platforms and panel members mounted thereon are selectively movable about the longitudinal axis of the respective stanchion to which they are attached. The support platforms, panel members thereon, and stanchions are cooperatively positioned such that support surfaces are provided at various levels and adjustably positioned at such levels to vary the geometric configuration of the furniture assembly which would result in varying the quantity of floor space (or other horizontal surface) required for its usage.

Abstract: A container assembly used for the storage of food products plus additives such as spices, etc. therefor, wherein the additives are stored in segregated relation to one another and the food product. The container assembly is designed for the storage of the food product such as by freezing and also for the cooking of the food product in a manner which facilitates the automatic and selective mixing of the additives with the food product wherein the food product and additives may be stored for prolonged periods prior to cooking and user of the device need not come into direct contact with the food product until it is ready for consumption.

Abstract: In one embodiment, the oscillating pinch roll assembly or web handling apparatus includes a rotatable spindle having an input which accepts the tubular web. A pinch roller is mounted at the input. A plurality of rollers are circumferentially disposed around the pinch roller and the axis of rotation of those rollers is parallel to the center line of the tubular web. A turning bar is disposed in the interior of the spindle and turns the flattened web exiting the pinch rollers 90 degrees and feeds the horizontal web to a first roller of the plurality of rollers disposed at the periphery of the spindle. The traveling web always passes over this first roller. By rotating the spindle in an oscillatory manner about the center axis of the tubular web, the horizontally traveling, flat web is wound and unwound around the outer periphery of the spindle and is fed to a fixed idler roller.
