Patent number: 4391452Abstract: A control circuit for a vehicle leveling system which operates to restore the vehicle height to be within a reference vehicle height range. The control circuit comprises a first detecting device which detects the direction of change in the vehicle height, a second detecting device which determines the necessity of levelling operation, a logic circuit which properly controls the leveling operation in response to outputs of the first and second detecting devices, and a holding circuit which increases the duration of an OFF signal so as to render the pneumatic system of the vehicle to be inoperative, for a predetermined length of time. The control circuit effects adjustment in height in response to those changes in vehicle height which inherently require adjustment and avoids any adjustment in response to those changes in vehicle height which naturally occur instantaneously under normal driving conditions.Type: GrantFiled: January 16, 1981Date of Patent: July 5, 1983Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Taiji Ohmori

Patent number: 4391342Abstract: A steering mechanism for vehicle equipped with a power steering system, the steering mechanism including a resilient element, such as a torsion bar, which is interposed in a path of torque transmission between a steering wheel and a power steering unit which provides an increased steering reactive force in proportion to vehicle speed. The steering mechanism includes a damper arrangement disposed between two relatively rotatable members which are operably associated with each other through the resilient element. The damper arrangement attenuates torsional vibrations of a first one of the relatively rotatable members disposed on the side of the steering wheel, such vibrations being caused by the interposed resilient element and the moment of inertia of the steering wheel.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 1981Date of Patent: July 5, 1983Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Masao Nishikawa, Yoshihiko Toshimitsu, Toshihiko Aoyama, Tokuro Takaoka, Takashi Aoki, Yoichi Sato

Patent number: 4388801Abstract: A process and apparatus for producing a twisted elastic thread in which an elastomeric thread of substantially 154 dtex to 310 dtex, is adhesively twisted with two yarns. The thickness of each of the two yarns is substantially of 100 to 12,500 dtex, and the yarns preferably are OE yarns of polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl cyanide, polyacrylonitrile and/or wool threads, preferably produced by the rotor process. Prior to twisting, the yarns are surface-swelled under a vacuum between substantialy 0.1 and 0.2 bar in superheated steam at substantially 70.degree. C. for up to ten minutes for loosening purposes. During twisting, a pre-tension is imparted to the elastomeric thread with respect to the yarns. Such pre-tension is imparted to the elastomeric thread only a predetermined time after starting the twister, and the elastomeric thread is pre-tensioned by substantially 2 to substantially 5 times compared with the yarns.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 1981Date of Patent: June 21, 1983Assignee: Krall & Roth, Weberei GmbH & Co., K.G.Inventor: Gunter d'Alquen

Patent number: 4384521Abstract: In a rotary screen printing machine, which comprises a frame and at least one cylindrical stencil with end rings, each of which is rotatably mounted within a bearing on the frame. At least one of these end rings is provided with driven memebers for rotating the respective stencil. A coupling maintains a driving connection between the driven members, and a stop is operable upon the coupling to break the driving connection between the driven members for rendering the drive force of the driven members inactive during the printing operation, thus arresting the respective stencil. The stop subsequently can be actuate to permit a restoration of the said drive force. The provision according to the present invention thus allows a rapid addition or removal of one or more pattern portions of a design to be printed during the printing operation without any loss of time and material.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 1980Date of Patent: May 24, 1983Assignee: Stork Brabant B.V.Inventor: Cornelis Muselaers

Patent number: 4378635Abstract: A hair trimming device for moustaches and eyebrows which has a replaceable blade. The blade is held between a pair of plates. The blade is curved to provide a perfect cut, and the plates are likewise curved. The plates are hinged and can be quickly swung from open to close position and simple means are provided for locking the blades in position. In one form, a handle receives a flexible connector which is fastened to the blade supporting plate. The flexible connector can be moved along the handle to a position in which the plates are taughtly held against the handle and the blade is securely positioned between the plates. When moved in the opposite direction, the flexible member can be flexed to permit opening of the plates and replacement of the blade.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 1980Date of Patent: April 5, 1983Inventor: Lorraine Burch

Patent number: 4377217Abstract: A power steering system for vehicles includes a four-way valve slidable in response to applied steering torque for selectively connecting a pair of hydraulic oil chambers of a servo cylinder to a hydraulic pressure source and an oil reservoir. A pair of hydraulic rection chambers are disposed one on each side of the four-way valve and each contain a pair of plungers and a spring interposed therebetween. The plungers are held by and between a pair of diametrical pins supported on the valve and spaced axially from each other. When the reaction chambers are pressurized by an increased speed of the vehicle or a change in resistance from the road surface, the plungers are urged against the pins on the valve to prevent the latter from being slid axially, thereby allowing the driver of the vehicle to feel a suitable resistance to turning of the steering wheel without being assisted by auxiliary power from the servo cylinder.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 1980Date of Patent: March 22, 1983Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Masao Nishikawa, Takashi Aoki, Yoichi Sato
