Abstract: A laminated transparency is covered on its top and bottom face with a top sheet of clear vinyl transparency and a bottom sheet of clear vinyl. A sheet of mat polyester is over the bottom face of the bottom vinyl sheet during the lamination process to provide a mat finish across the bottom of the lamination. The sheet and transparencies are subjected to heat and pressure to laminate these parts together. Both sides of the transparency are coated prior to lamination to facilitate its adherence to the top and bottom sheets of clear vinyl. The top and bottom sheets of clear vinyl may also be peeled from the transparency. A pair of sheets with windows have the laminated transparency interposed therebetween with the transparency viewable through the windows.
Abstract: A one-piece receptacle (1) for a quick-release fastener, has a base portion (2) and a stud-retaining structure (4) connected to the base portion by a pair of resilient webs (3) substantially C-shaped in cross-section. The base portion has a cross-cut slot (8) in a plane transverse to the central axis of the receptacle. The C-shaped webs (3) are integrally connected to the base portion (2) in extension of a thin walled portions (2") closer to the stud-retaining structure (4). The slot (8) extends from one side of the receptacle across the central axis thereof, so that the opposing thin walled portions (2,2") of the base on opposite sides of the cross-cut slot (8) can engage opposite surfaces of the support member at an aperture in which the receptacle is to be mounted.
Abstract: The exercise apparatus includes, a motor-reduction gear unit (10, 11) controlling an input shaft (20), and mounted on a frame (1). A drum (50) receives a cable (5) at the end of which there is placed a detector (155) and then a handle (56). Between the shaft (20) and the drum (50) there are mounted in parallel firstly a freewheel transmission (36) and, secondly an electromagnetic powder clutch (35). Various pre-adjusted control values for exciting the clutch (35) enable accurate adjustment of the apparatus, in particular for exercises of the "servo-controlled work", "static work", or "direct work" types, to be accompanied by "rest" phases.

Abstract: An autofocusing microscope includes a spot marker assembly for projecting a spot marker on the sample surface. The image of the spot marker is continuously scanned while the objective lens is moved along a preselected range of distances from said sample surface. The lens is then moved to the optimum focusing in accordance with the scanning.
Abstract: A centrifugal pump capable of rotating in a normal direction while enabling a fluid to flow in a normal direction and rotating in a reverse direction while enabling the fluid to flow in the reverse direction without having its pumping efficiency dropping to a lower level in a reverse rotation mode than in a normal rotation mode. The pump includes two pump casings each having an inlet and outlet portion extending tangentially of each pump casing and connected together through an intermediate casing to provide a unitary structure in which the two pump casings are located concentrically in face-to-face relation, and an impeller having a helical blade extending axially from one zone in one pump casing into another zone in the other pump casing for rotation along the center axis of the pump. The impeller has a minimum outer diameter at the center of its center axis and includes portions each flaring in one of axial opposite directions in the form of a cone.
Abstract: In order to compensate reproduction errors in electroacoustic transducers (W), for example electrodynamic loud-speakers, microphones and pickup systems, computer circuits are used. In a digital computer circuit, the electrical input signals (U.sub.1 ) are converted into altered output signals (U.sub.2) according to the inherent properties of the transducer (W), stored in a memory (PROM), with the aid of a programme, which is likewise stored. When analogue computer circuits are used, the complex inherent response of the converter (W) in respect of the amplitude/frequency response and phase/frequency response is approximated mathematically in a closed, inverse form, and the resulting function is simulated with the aid of integrators (B), summing elements (S), inverters (I) and adjusting members (P).
Abstract: A method and device which measures the velocity of ultrasonic waves in a moving web is disclosed. The excitation source is a laser or other device which produces short intense light pulses and the detection system is either a peizoelectric transducer or a microphone. The latter obviates any need for physical contact with the web in order to carry out tests for strength parameters as the web is manufactured.
Abstract: A dispensing pump includes an outer cylinder and an inner piston which cooperate in defining a pump chamber. The cylinder includes an inlet port and an outlet port which are sequentially opened and closed by the piston. In addition, a vent for the container interior to replace discharge product with air is also adapted to be opened and closed incident to the movement of the piston. Sealing rings are provided between the piston and cylinder, the location of which, determines the amount of product and air drawn into the pump chamber as well as the characteristics of the dispensing pattern of the product discharged by the pump. During part of the suction stroke as well as the compression stroke, both the inlet and outlet ports are simultaneously closed by the piston thereby respectively creating a predetermined negative pressure and positive pressure within the pump chamber.
Abstract: A round or oval powder drum is disclosed which comprises a spirally wrapped paper construction body closed at both ends and sealed to prevent leakage of contained, dry fine powders.
Abstract: A vacuum bottle of the electric heater type includes a body having a tubular outer shell and a tubular inner shell disposed within the outer shell to form a hermetically sealed thermal insulation vacuum space therebetween. A tubular connecting member has an open lower end and an upper end wall having an aperture formed therethrough. The upper end wall of the connecting member is fixedly hermetically secured to a lower surface of a bottom wall of the inner shell with the apertures therein in communication, and the tubular connecting member is fitted in an aperture of a bottom wall of the outer shell and fixedly hermetically secured thereto adjacent to the open lower end thereof to hold the bottom walls of the inner and outer shells in spaced sealed relation to each other. An electric heater is mounted within the inner shell for heating contents of the inner shell.
Abstract: An air dryer device for drying compressed air includes a base member, a housing mounted on the base member, and an air dryer disposed within the housing. The air dryer includes an absorbent container of a synthetic resin holding an absorbent material and disposed in spaced relation to the housing to form a space therebetween. The base member has an inlet, an outlet and a passage. The compressed air applied to the inlet flows through the passage, the container, the space to the outlet. The container has a peripheral flange at a lower end thereof. A lower end wall of the container and the flange defining a bottom of the container. A plate is embedded in the bottom of the container. Fastening elements pass through the flange and the plate into the base member to fasten the container to the base member.
Abstract: A revolving electric machine wherein a brush holder formed of resin is solidly secured to a bracket and this bracket is jointed to an opening of a yoke. The bracket is formed into a thin plate shape. A portion of the bracket is clamped from the opposite side by a resin material of the brush holder, whereby the bracket is integrally formed with the brush holder. A faucet joint portion of the brush holder is formed when the brush holder is formed of resin and the faucet joint portion is faucet-jointed to the opening of the yoke, whereby the bracket is center-aligned with the yoke. One of the terminals of a brush penetrates through a resin material of the brush holder and is extracted to the outside. The outer of the terminals of the brush is connected to the outside of the bracket.
