    Abstract: The rolls of a rolling mill can be axially moved by way of an actuator device equipped with piston-and-cylinder units. The bearing blocks which receive the journal ends of the rolls to be moved are horizontally guided in separate guide bodies. The guide bodies, in turn can be shifted vertically in cylinder blocks arranged at the flanks of the windows of the respective base member, or in pressure plates associated with such cylinder blocks. The actuator device is characterized by a compact design which even during exchange of rolls is contained in the confines of the roll stand, and it can be easily coupled to the rolls to be moved. The guide bodies of at least one base member are formed with lateral projections at which are mounted the motive power providing hydraulic cylinders, and these are connected in such a way that the piston rods thereof point in the direction of the guide bodies.

In order to provide an economically simple and maintainance free device of the afore-mentioned kind with reduced space requirements, which responds to all common air pollutants and insures a reliable reading, the invention proposes that the sensor be placed in a housing with a side facing the oncoming flow preceded within the housing by a measuring slot abutting an air chamber of the housing, where a pulsator is located, whereby one or more air-inlet openings lead to the cylinder space of the air chamber facing away from the sensor. The pulsator consists of a piston coupled with an oscillator. In the air chamber an air-conditioning device, preferably a heating device, is provided.

A gripper has front and rear jaws formed with respective recesses complementarily engageable with the protrusions so it can accurately hold and position the shoe and last. The protrusions and recesses are formed substantially entirely of planar surfaces, although they can be complementarily rounded, for instance part-spherical. The stem has a radially directed flat provided with indicia and the gripper is provided with a scanner juxtaposable with the flat for reading the indicia. A stationary card on the flat carries the indicia.

The interference pattern is converted into data along x,y,z coordinates in a cartesian coordinate system representing machining of a blank to fit said site and matching data obtained by comparing the impression with the computer standards are used to select a best-fit shape and size.

    Abstract: In the process for reducing the noxious substance contents of flue gas, particularly flue gas desulphuration by dry process, the adsorber (1) and/or the regenerator (2) are built like a shaft. Active coke is introduced in the shaft in plane heaps with free intervals between each other: the coke is transported batchwise from top to bottom and is traversed by the flue gas. The heaps are supported by grates (6) of which the bars may come out at least partially from the grate plane so as to disintegrate the heaps and to bring them to the following stage in the form of a trickling flow, so that a constant thickness with respect to the cross-section is maintained. The infeed and evacuation of the flue gas with shaft-like absorber (1), respectively the gas streams in a shaft-like regenerator (2) are carried out in such a way that at least a preponderant number of heaps is traversed from bottom to top. Optionally it is possible to provide in the adsorber a mixture with NH.sub.3 gas in order to denitrify the flue gas.

The full roving bobbin associated with the dispensing position is taken from one of a plurality of stand-by positions in the storage location. To provide a more automatic operation the process further comprises testing whether the full roving bobbin is present in one of the stand-by positions adjacent the dispensing position before beginning the exchange and when the absence of the full roving bobbin is indicated inducing a relative motion between the roving bobbin changing device and the stand-by positions until the roving bobbin changing device stands adjacent to one of the stand-by positions having a full roving bobbin.
