  • Patent number: 8320618
Abstract: Referring to FIG. 5, the tracking start-and-stop determining unit 28 of the tracking processing unit 26 determines the starting and stopping of tracking based on predetermined conditions. During the tracking, the sampling unit 29 creates or eliminates particles using the probability density distribution estimated for an immediately preceding image frame. The observation unit causes the particles to make a transition according to a predetermined motion model and observes the likelihoods of a candidate curves defined by the particles. The correction unit 32 compares the color histogram of an area located at a predetermined position relative to the candidate curve with the color histogram of an area similarly located relative to the curve determined as a result of tracking in the immediately preceding image frame. If the matching score is equal to or higher than a predetermined value, the likelihood of the candidate curve is increased by correction.

  • Patent number: 8312485
Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product is provided for the selective filtering of objectionable content from a program. The selective filtering of objectionable content from a program is accomplished by applying an encoding process and a decoding process to the audio and/or video signal of the program. The encoding process includes marking potentially objectionable material in the program with filtering information that identifies the type (e.g., audio, violent content, sexual content, etc.) and intensity level (e.g., mild, graphic, extreme, etc.) of the potentially objectionable material using filter codes. The decoding process includes comparing, during the presentation of the program to the user and prior to outputting the audio or displaying the video, the filtering information to filter criteria, which includes user supplied filter settings, to determine whether filtering of the potentially objectionable content (i.e., audio and/or video) should be performed.

  • Patent number: 8312208
Abstract: A memory access controller is disclosed. A packet memory stores a packet and has a clock parallel outputting function of parallel-outputting first data and a clock. A read controller reads the first data. A clock transfer unit performs a clock transfer operation by writing the first data using the clock and reading second data using a system clock. A packet assembly unit receives the second data and reassembles the packet. An information memory stores a read start address where head data of the packet is stored and packet length information indicating a length of the packet. A read controller receives the read start address and the packet length information, generates a read address necessary for reading one packet, and reads the first data from the packet memory.
