Abstract: A process of manufacturing a multi-shade design on an at least semi-transparent substrate having a first surface and a second surface. The process comprising a template preparation step of preparing a template, the template being visible through the substrate, applying a first design film to a surface of the substrate, carving at least a portion of the first design film, applying a second design film over the first surface, and carving at least a portion of the second design film. An alternative process of manufacturing a multi-color design comprising the template preparation step, applying a first design film, of a first color, to the first surface, carving the first region, applying a second design film, of a second color, to the first surface, and carving the second region from the second design film.
Abstract: A bidirectional drilling jar, capable of repeated unidirectional firing, including a sliding assembly that is disposed in a sliding relation to the interior of a barrel assembly. A portion of the inner diameter of the barrel assembly forms a restricted barrel segment. The restriction intermediate an upper chamber and a lower chamber. A metering system comprising an upper flange a meter valve, and a lower flange. The meter valve slideably disposed on the sliding assembly between the upper and lower flanges. The metering system travels between the upper chamber and the lower chamber providing limited, controlled flow of the fluid contained therein when passing through the restriction in order to pressurize the system and produce a jarring stroke. Alternatively, the metering system comprises an upper flange, a meter ring, a meter valve, and a lower flange. The meter valve and meter ring are slideably disposed on the sliding assembly intermediate the upper and lower flanges.
Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of the jet motor includes a control sleeve, and power shaft having at least one opening thereon. The power shaft is rotatable in relation to the control sleeve. The power shaft has a central longitudinal shaft axis and upper and lower ends. The at least one opening in the power shaft generates rotational torque when acting in cooperation with the control sleeve. The jet motor connects to a member that is in fluid communication with the source of drilling or cleaning fluid. Drilling or cleaning fluid pressure is directed to the at least one opening in the power shaft. The power shaft having at least one opening having an opening axis and an interior opening. The at least one opening may be acutely oriented with respect to a plane extending along the power shaft's central longitudinal axis wherein the plane intersects the opening axis at the interior opening. The at least one opening may be oriented toward the upper end of the power shaft to provide downward force.

A flexible cuff is passed over the patient's lower body and/or extremities, and is attached a hydraulic actuator. Through a mechanical linkage, the actuator sequentially tensions and releases the cuff, thereby sequentially compressing and releasing pressure on the patient, and thereby augmenting the patient's blood pressure. The actuator includes a hydraulic cylinder that axially extends and retracts a shaft. A curved plate on the apparatus supports the patient's body or extremity in a fixed position during the treatment. A pressure sensor in the cuff transmits pressure data to an operator or electronic processor. Based on physiological data continuously obtained from the patient, various treatment parameters may be changed during the patient's treatment by an attending clinician or by a computer processor controlling the treatment.

Abstract: A downhole rotation tool comprises a housing rotatable and axially slideable in relation to a gear shaft. The gear shaft is located interior of the housing. A tube gear is located intermediate the gear shaft and the housing. Helical threading on the gear shaft exterior interacts with helical threading interior of the tube gear to impart rotation of the tube gear upon linear movement of the gear shaft. A gear face at a lower end of the tube gear interacts with a corresponding gear face on the housing. Face gear teeth of the tube gear and the housing include axially-aligned engaging surfaces to rotate the housing in a preferred direction on downward stroke of the gear shaft and include inclined slip surfaces to allow relative rotation of the housing gear face and the tube gear face upon upward stroke of the gear shaft.
Abstract: A sludge filter is comprised of a mesh filter media secured to a support net. The support net includes a front surface adjacent the filter media and a rear surface opposite the filter media, the rear surface having a plurality of outwardly extending nodes to define flow channels for horizontal and vertical fluid flow intermediate the net and a container surface. The sludge filter is attached directly to the walls or floor of a container. In a preferred embodiment a border of the sludge filter comprises one part of a two-part fastener system with a second part of the two-part fastener system attached to a container along the perimeter of the filter coverage area, so that the filter medium may be removably attached to the container.

The side lid hinges are attached to the side walls such that the side walls do not open beyond a predetermined angle. Each side lid has an interior surface, an exterior surface, and an outer edge. The side lids close together with their outer edges abutting. A rear lid is hingedly connected to the rear wall. The rear wall hinge is attached to the rear wall such that the rear wall does not open beyond a predetermined angle. The rear lid has an interior surface and an exterior surface. The rear lid closes first, and the side lids close together over the rear lid. Photograph retainers are mounted on interior surfaces of the side lids and the rear lid.
Abstract: There is provided a portable liquid filtering apparatus for filtering liquid used in a container, such as cooking oil in deep fat fryers. The apparatus includes a mounting bracket that attaches to a portion of the container. The mounting bracket supports a liquid pump. A filter assembly including at least one filter element is removably disposed in the container, and is connected to the pump inlet by a suction tube. The pump draws the liquid through the filter element and suction tube and propels it into a discharge tube connected to the pump outlet. The discharge tube discharges the filtered liquid back into the container for reuse. The mounting bracket is adjustable for attachment to various sized containers. The suction tube and the discharge tube are shaped to conform generally to the shape of the container.
Abstract: The invention comprises a downhole jet motor, and a method of using same, that can be utilized to drill or to clean a well bore or tubing. The jet motor comprises a power shaft partially surrounded by a control sleeve defining a blind annular space, closed at the upper end and open at the lower end to allow fluid discharge. At least one opening is provided in the drive shaft wall extending radially within the annulus region. Drilling or cleaning fluid pressure is directed to the at least one opening in the power shaft. The control sleeve provides a reaction structure in relation to fluid discharged from the at least one opening producing rotation of the drive shaft in relation to the control sleeve.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a vortex induced vibration inhibitor (“VIVI”) comprising a hollow cylindrical housing having an elongated opening defined by locking edges. The housing is operable between an open and a closed position. Connecting assemblies include barbed connector pins received in grooved housings. Connector slots are provided in the connector and receptor housings. Retainer pins provide for release of connecting assemblies. Spacers are provided to limit movement of the housing in relation to the surrounded structure. An alignment stub is provided.

Abstract: A method of making drainage elements from recycled thermoplastic plastics materials comprising the steps of: providing chopped waste plastics to a screw extruder having a screw. In the extruder, the waste is compressed and delivered to a twin-plate agglomerator. One plate is closely adjacent to, and rotates with respect to, the other plate. Between the plates the waste plastics is agglomerated and the mechanical energy imparted by the extruder screw and plates heats the plastics material to about the melting point of the thermoplastic material. Hot noodles of melted plastics material extrudes from an outlet of the plates. The noodles are conveyed to a chute of a compactor funnel which has an outlet disposed closely above an output conveyor belt.
Abstract: An ulcer, lymphoedema and DVT treatment device (10) comprises a drive unit (12) adapted to deliver mechanical vibrations at its surface in three orthogonal directions at a frequency in each orthogonal direction of between 15 and 75 Hz and with an amplitude in each orthogonal direction of between 0.1 and 0.5 mm. A pad (110) is connected to the drive unit, and a strap (46) enables the pad to be pressed against the limb of the animal or human. The motor drives an eccentrically mounted weight (22) to provide oscillations of the casing in a radial plane. The device is employed to treat a patient suffering from leg ulcers, lymphoedema and DVT by applying three-dimensional vibrations. A cover (150) is provided to protect the pad (110) from contamination.
