  • Patent number: 7811513
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for treating of marine growth on the surface, such as the holes of boats and ships. A confinement arrangement is used to confine a volume of heated fluid against the surface. The confinement arrangement is retained against the surface by maintenance and mounts rollers so that it can be moved over the surface to treat other parts of the surface. A heated fluid is provided to the confined volume from an external heater.

  • Patent number: 7808118
Abstract: The method for creating energy sources for a vehicle drive system includes burning an air fuel mixture in an internal combustion engine and discharging the burned air fuel mixture through an exhaust system of the vehicle. Steam is created utilizing heat of the exhaust system. The steam is passed through a generator, which supplies mechanical or electrical power to an appropriate drive system of the vehicle. Hydrogen can be created utilizing the steam and a catalyst substrate. Wind turbines mounted to the vehicle can also supply electricity to the vehicle as air passes through the turbines due to movement of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 7804676
Abstract: A hybrid capacitor includes a body of dielectric material having spaced-apart first and second surfaces. A first electrode is associated with the first surface. A second electrode is associated with the second surface. One or more third electrodes are transversely disposed within the dielectric body between the first and second electrodes. Either the first or second electrode is not conductively coupled to any electrode transversely extending into the body. The resulting arrangement provides a hybrid capacitor having characteristics of both a tubular capacitor and a discoidal capacitor.

  • Patent number: 7794337
Abstract: The tackling dummy includes a slide having a ground-engaging skid and an upward extending frame configured to receive a channel formed in an anthropomorphic body having a front side and a relatively narrower profile side. The channel extends upwardly into the anthropomorphic body from a lower side thereof and engages the upwardly extending frame for positioning the anthropomorphic body in one of two primary configurations relative to the slide. These configurations are rotationally spaced about the longitudinal axis of the channel approximately 90° from one another.

  • Patent number: 7797048
Abstract: A feedthrough terminal assembly for an active implantable medical device (AIMD) includes a conductive terminal pin or lead wire which extends through a conductive ground plane of the AIMD in non-conductive relation. A feedthrough capacitor associated with the terminal pin or lead wire has first and second sets of electrode plates coupled, respectively, to the conductive pin or lead wire and to the ground plane. A breathable electromechanical connection material conductively couples the capacitor's electrode plates to respective components of the AIMD, which allows helium gas to pass freely therethrough during a standard pressurized or vacuum pull helium leak detection test. A breathable washer may be disposed between an alumina insulator and a surface of the capacitor. An additional further breathable coating or conformal coating may be placed over a surface of the feedthrough capacitor disposed toward the interior of the AIMD.

  • Patent number: 7786879
Abstract: A rechargeable smoke and carbon monoxide detector is provided. The base of the detector has a battery formed therein that is charged when connected to a power source, such as a 110-volt light bulb socket. The detector is further configured to receive a 110-volt light bulb so as to not eliminate the use of the light socket as a light source. Additionally, the detector may include one or more warning devices such as an ionization or photoelectric sensor, speaker, or light source. A power indicator LED, a smoke indicator LED, and a carbon monoxide indicator LED all provide visual notification that the detector is functioning properly.

  • Patent number: 7784117
Abstract: A vacuum relief safety valve includes a housing defining an inner chamber and attached to the suction-side of the swimming pool or spa pump. An air inlet aperture is formed in the housing so as to be open to ambient air. A sealing element is disposed within the housing and biased against the air inlet aperture by a spring so as to effectively seal the inner chamber of the housing from ambient air. When a maximum allowed vacuum level within the pump is exceeded, such as when a swimming pool drain is obstructed, the sealing element moves into the inner chamber and opens the air inlet aperture causing the pump to rapidly lose its prime and enabling removal of the entrapment. Simultaneously, the movement of the sealing element provides electricity to a control circuit which shuts off power to the pump.
