Abstract: After AlH3 is synthesized, ball milling is performed under a condition in which a force of 2 G to 20 G (G represents the acceleration of gravity) is applied, to thereby provide AlH3 having an X-ray diffraction pattern in the form of a halo pattern. That is, for example, nanostructured AlH3 is provided, in which a grain boundary phase intervenes in a matrix phase, a side length t2 of the matrix phase is not more than 20 nm, and a width w2 of the grain boundary phase is not more than 10 nm. Alternatively, amorphous AlH3 may be provided. Further, hydrogen is released from AlH3 on which ball milling has been completed, and then the hydrogen is absorbed to induce a change into AlHx (provided that 0<x?3 is satisfied). A dopant may also be added. A hydrogen storage container is constructed accommodating the hydrogen absorbing material, which is obtained as described above, inside the container.
Abstract: When the three U-, V-, W-phase arms of a DC/DC converter are turned on, they are alternately turned on by gate drive signals. When the U-, V-, W-phase arms are alternately turned on, an upper arm switching device of the U-phase arm, for example, is turned on, and thereafter a lower arm switching device of the U-phase arm is turned on. Thereafter, an upper arm switching device of the V-phase arm which is next to the U-phase arm is turned on, and thereafter a lower arm switching device of the V-phase arm is turned on. The upper and lower arm switching devices are thus turned on in a rotation switching process.
Abstract: An electronic device with a graphical language environment that includes a method which examines a graphical model to identify textual items having intrinsic executable computational meaning within the graphical model is discussed. The method identifies at least one textual item with intrinsic executable computational meaning. The method further provides an indicator for the at least one identified textual item with intrinsic executable computational meaning in a display of the graphical model. The indicator may be based upon a characteristic of the identified textual item.

Abstract: An engine balancer system is provided in which a balancer housing (17) disposed so as to face an oil pan beneath a crankshaft is formed by joining an upper housing (29) and a lower housing (30) via mating faces (P), and the height of the mating faces (P) is lower on a vehicle front side than on a vehicle rear side. Oil discharge holes (45a, 46) for discharging oil that is within the balancer housing (17) are formed in the mating faces (P) on the higher side of the balancer housing (17) and in the upper housing (29) above the mating faces (P) on the lower side of the balancer housing (17). This enables the position of the oil discharge hole (45a) on the lower side to be as high as possible, thereby suppressing penetration of oil into the interior of the balancer housing (17) through the oil discharge hole (45a).
Abstract: The present invention provides a user of a state diagramming environment with the ability to specify if the user wants to develop a Moore machine or a Mealy machine. To achieve this, a set of predefined requirements is provided that restricts the state diagram semantics to either semantics of a Moore or Mealy machine. When a user provides a state diagram that does not conform to the set of requirements, the state diagram is identified as non-conforming and the user is notified of the non-conformance. The user is given information describing what aspects of the state diagram do not conform, thereby, allowing the user to quickly identify any errors that have been made. As a result of the present invention, the burden placed on the user is reduced and the time spent debugging is minimized.
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and an apparatus for channel estimation regarding electromagnetic wave multi-path characteristics between a sender and a receiver by using a chirp signal.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to methods and compositions capable of blocking the inhibitory effect of a newly-identified intronic inhibitory sequence element, named ISS-N1 (for “intronic splicing silencer”), located in the SMN2 gene. The compositions and methods of the instant invention include oligonucleotide reagents (e.g., oligoribonucleotides) that effectively target the SMN2 ISS-N1 site in the SMN2 pre-mRNA, thereby modulating the splicing of SMN2 pre-mRNA to include exon 7 in the processed transcript. The ISS-N1 blocking agents of the invention cause elevated expression of SMN protein, thus compensating for the loss of SMN protein expression commonly observed in subjects with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA).

Abstract: A method for retaining state information of a digital filter object in a dynamically typed text-based programming environment is disclosed. The digital filter object retains state information which includes the minimal amount of information that is necessary to determine the output of the digital filter object. The digital filter object generates the output of the object in response to the input of the object depending on the state information of the object. The state of the filter is stored in a memory and provided to the object as an initial value of the state of the object.

Abstract: A method is provided for extending the capability of signals in a graphical model environment. Features of a first signal type and features of a second signal type are combinable to form a combined signal type while allowing existing blocks in the graphical model environment to process the combined signal type without modification of the existing blocks. A block intended to process a signal of the first type that receives the composite signal type process the portion of the signal corresponding to the first type without regard for the second signal type portion of the combined signal. Moreover, the method allows for modification or creation of blocks that add features to a signal to form a combined signal type.
