Patent number: 4118743Abstract: A cassette-type magnetic tape recorder/player has a movable plate mounted on its deck for reciprocating movement between reproduction and non-reproduction positions. At least a second slide member is also mounted on the deck and likewise biased toward the reproduction position. The movable plate carries a magnetic head and a pivotally mounted pinch roller which engages a rotatably driven capstan mounted on the deck. The second slide member can be manually moved to a second position where it engages and moves a magnetic actuator which, in turn, serves to pivot the pinch roller out of contact with the capstan. The magnetic actuator is surrounded by an electromagnetic coil which serves, when activated, to hold the magnetic actuator in the position where it disengages the pinch roller. The coil is activated responsive to the detection of blank zones on the magnetic tape.Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 1977Date of Patent: October 3, 1978Inventors: Itsuki Ban, Shohei Iizuka, Hisashi Funakoshi

Patent number: 4116467Abstract: An outrigger for stabilizing the frame of a mobile apparatus such as a vehicle with a lifting device mounted thereon. The outrigger includes a pivoted arm mounted on the frame and a main hydraulic jack for swinging the arm from a raised or retracted position for travel of the vehicle to a lowered ground engaging position upon expansion of the jack. The upper or inner end of the jack is mounted on means for swinging the inner end of the jack inwardly relative to the frame and this means may be in the form of a link pivotally connected at its inner end to the frame and at its outer end to the inner end of the jack. A secondary jack may be connected between the link and the frame so as to swing the link inwardly. The swing of the outrigger arm is thus significantly increased over known arrangements so as to permit the outrigger to travel from a point well below the normal ground level to a retracted position which will permit highway travel.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 1977Date of Patent: September 26, 1978Assignee: Canadian Foremost Ltd.Inventor: Russ J. Patent number: 4117543Abstract: A set of three input, three output bubble logic gates forms all of the possible distinct output functions for conservative three variable gates. The magnetic interaction between single wall domains propagating through separate channels defined by closely spaced circuit element paths causes the domains to switch to or remain on alternate paths via between-path transfer means in a predetermined fashion. In addition to vertically graded element transfer means, several new circuit arrangements are introduced including non-graded elements, strong and weak S-curves, elements having uneven gradation, and other circuit techniques. A group of primitive realizations are described which can be combined to produce other gates having output functions in each of 31 equivalence classes. A methodology for using the gates in logic design is suggested, and several new building block gates producing functions of two variables are presented.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 1972Date of Patent: September 26, 1978Assignee: Monsanto CompanyInventors: Robert C.
