  • Patent number: 7810197
Abstract: Cable ramps are illuminated in an effort to increase awareness of the ramp thereby decreasing the risk of a person tripping or entanglement with the ramp. Light sources (e.g., light emitting diodes) are placed at various locations on a cable ramp and illuminate the cable ramp helping users to see it, particularly in dark conditions. In one exemplary embodiment, the cable ramp has a movable lid, and at least one light source is positioned such that light emitted from the light source passes through the movable lid.

  • Patent number: 7809076
Abstract: A communication system adaptively cancels noise and/or interference from signals communicated through a communication channel, such as signals communicated by a telecommunication network. The system, based on a common mode signal of a received signal, generates an estimate of noise or interference within a differential mode signal of the received signal. The system then subtracts the estimate from the differential mode signal in an effort to remove noise from the differential mode signal thereby providing a differential mode signal that is substantially free of the estimated noise or interference.

  • Patent number: 7793672
Abstract: An apparatus in accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure has frame and a debris removal opening within the frame. The frame is secured to the ground by driving a blunt point of the frame into the ground. Further, the apparatus comprises a faucet positioned above the debris removal opening. Thus, a user may turn the faucet on to begin water flow and insert a garden tool into the opening. As the user inserts and/or removes the garden tool from the opening, the apparatus removes unwanted debris, e.g., mud, gravel, grass, etc., that is attached to the garden tool and washes the tool with the water.

  • Patent number: 7743717
Abstract: An apparatus for conveying solid waste to a furnace includes an opening to an elongated channel into which waste material is received and an outlet open to the furnace. A reciprocating ram with a head plate located in the channel opposite the outlet forces the waste toward the outlet. The ram also has an upper shield dimensioned to be slightly greater in area than the opening such that the opening is blocked when the ram is extended. The channel also includes an actuator-impelled restrictor plate for compressing waste as it is forced through said channel into a narrower portion, and a isolation door operable to close off the channel.

  • Patent number: 7742505
Abstract: An interworking function (IWF) is coupled to a switch of a packet network and communicates with the network switch based on an Ethernet clock signal or some other type of clock signal. A primary reference clock (PRC) of the network generates a PRC signal, and a timing analyzer determines timing information indicative of timing relationships between the Ethernet clock signal and the PRC signal. The timing analyzer periodically transmits such timing information, and the IWF uses the timing information to generate a PRC signal that is traceable to the network PRC signal.

  • Patent number: 7730768
Abstract: A system for detecting leaks in vehicles comprises memory, a plurality of transducers, at least one sensor, an input device, and logic. The memory stores a plurality of transmit profiles. The transducers are disposed in a vehicle and configured to emit acoustic energy. The sensor is disposed outside of a vehicle and configured to sense the acoustic energy emitted by the transducers, and the input device is configured to receive a vehicle identifier identifying the vehicle. The logic is configured to select one of the transmit profiles for the transducers based on the vehicle identifier and to cause the transducers to emit the acoustic energy according to the selected transmit profile. The logic is further configured to detect at least one leak in the vehicle based on sample values indicative of the acoustic energy sensed by the at least one sensor and to provide an indication of the detected leak.

  • Patent number: 7701689
Abstract: A protector block assembly interfaces a plurality of subscriber lines to communication equipment, such as digital subscriber line (DSL) modems. The assembly has a protector block into which surge protection modules are plugged. Each surge protection module limits the current that may pass from a respective subscriber line to communication equipment protected by the assembly. When plugged into the protector block, the surge protection modules are oriented such that crosstalk interference from the protector block is canceled thereby reducing the amount of crosstalk introduced by the protector block.

  • Patent number: 7694973
Abstract: An apparatus for rapidly displacing an object comprises a lever with an object end and a power end. The lever is mounted to a fulcrum between the ends. A driven cam has a trunnion attached proximal to an outer edge thereof, and a tie rod member has an end pivotally attached to the power end of the lever and a second end pivotally attached to the trunnion such that about 180° of rotation of the cam causes about 90° displacement of the power end of said lever. Also, a tension member is coupled to the power end such that restorative force of the tension member contributes to displacement of the power end in one direction. A motor drives rotation of the cam.

  • Patent number: 7697408
Abstract: A system for adjusting transmission power levels of transceivers in order to reduce crosstalk utilizes a transmitter and logic. The transmitter is configured to transmit signals to a customer transceiver over a first communication connection that is bound within a binder. The logic is configured to estimate a distance of a data path between the transmitter and the customer transceiver based on at least one signal communicated over the data path. The logic is further configured to adjust a transmission power level of the transmitter based on the estimated distance such that signals transmitted by the transmitter to the customer transceiver are spectrally compatible with signals transmitted from another transceiver over a second communication connection that is bound within the binder.
