Abstract: A honeycomb structure includes a plurality of substantially parallel channels, a layer of at least partially structured metal foils and a housing. The layer includes a number N of at least partially structured metal foils and a number N+1 of smooth metal foils. The number N=1, 2 or 3 and two of the smooth metal foils are exterior foils. A method for producing such a honeycomb structure is also provided. The honeycomb structure is used, in particular in exhaust gas systems of mobile internal combustion engines.

Abstract: A flat multilayered component for use as an actuator or a sensor, is described. The flat multilayered component contains a layer of electrically activatable material, a passive middle layer disposed adjacent the layer of electrically activatable material, and a further passive material layer disposed adjacent the passive middle layer. The passive middle layer has a higher coefficient of linear thermal expansion than both of the layer of electrically activatable material and the further passive middle layer.
Abstract: A method and device for removing pollution from polluted water, consisting of a rod on which are mounted an array of spaced magnesium plates and an array of spaced copper plates. The copper plates are in contact with the magnesium plates. Polluted water passing through the plates results in precipitates of the pollutants which can be mechanically removed.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for increasing the winding speed of an automatic winding machine includes successively supplying unwinding stations of the automatic winding machine with spindles each having one spindle bearing and one cop with a cop tube having a given winding direction and being ready for unwinding. The spindles are rotated opposite the given winding direction of the cops while unwinding and removing yarn from the cop from above. The spindles are removed from the unwinding station in common with the cop tubes mounted on the spindles after unwinding.
