  • Patent number: 8295158
Abstract: A method of session processing in the Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) comprises: Interrogating-Call State Control Function (I-CSCF) accessing the Home Subscriber Server (HSS) to query the registration location of the called user, the I-CSCF sending the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) request to the Serving-Call State Control Function (S-CSCF) based on the response of the HSS; when the response time of the S-CSCF to the SIP request sent from the I-CSCF has expired, the I-CSCF re-selecting the S-CSCF, and sending the SIP request to the S-CSCF. And an Interrogating-Call State Control Function is provided. According to the present invention, if the S-CSCF returned by the HSS to process the unregistered service of the IMS user does not responded because of the device failure or communication interruption or the like, the I-CSCF can re-select other S-CSCF to process the unregistered service of the IMS user, so as to improve the quality of service and to increase the satisfaction of user.

  • Patent number: 8290374
Abstract: A dispersion compensation method and a dispersion compensation device in an optical communication system are provided. The method mainly includes the following steps. A dispersion compensation value transmitted through a working path at a second wavelength is received through a non-working path at a first wavelength in an optical communication system. The non-working path at the first wavelength and the working path at the second wavelength use the same service channel. Dispersion in the non-working path at the first wavelength is compensated according to the dispersion compensation value. Therefore, no matter the working path is a main path or a backup path, the dispersion compensation value on the non-working path can be accurately regulated in time, such that the dispersion of the working path reaches an optimal status each time after the protection switching occurs to the service, thereby ensuring the fast switching of the service.

  • Patent number: 8287739
Abstract: An optical blood monitoring system with a ratiometric model determines hematocrit values for a hemodialysis patient, from which hemoglobin values for the patient are estimated. The ratiometric model is calibrated, normally against a cell counter, using blood from a blood bank. The blood from a blood bank is preserved in a long term preservative which is typically different than that found in clinical settings. The hematocrit value determined by the ratiometric model is scaled by scaling factor so that the estimated hemoglobin level output from the monitor consistently matches that measured in a clinical setting. The hematocrit scaling factor is substantially about 1.033 when the patient's blood sample is stored in a short term preservative ethylene diamine tetra acetic, and is substantially about 1.06 when the hematocrit is measured in the blood sample without preservative being added to the blood sample. The hemoglobin value can also be adjusted for altitude.
