  • Patent number: 5920237
Abstract: A constant envelope quadrature-quadrature amplitude modulation system limits the data, which will be transmitted, to 4-bit and adds 4-bit parity to make them have a constant envelope in the Q.sup.2 AM system, which modulates 8-bit in units of 2-bit. The system includes: a constant envelope encoder 52 for adding 4-bit parity to 4-bit input information; four mappers 12 to 15 for respectively generating level signals corresponding to data values of 2-bit among 8-bit data generated by the constant envelope encoder 52; four mixers 16 to 19 for respectively mixing the level signals generated by the four mappers 12 to 15 with different predetermined frequency signals; and adder 20 for adding up the signals generated by the four mixers 16 to 19.

  • Patent number: 5464915
Abstract: In a method of preparing styrene plastics, the water medium containing tricalcium phosphate is prepared in situ (0.15 to 1.5 wt. %). Then, calcium carbonate (0.07 to 0.35 wt. %) is heated and dispersed therein. Thereafter, the monomer/comonomers/prepolymer, and secondary sodium alkylsulphates (0.001 to 0.020 wt. %) are introduced into the suspension polymerization process at 15 to 47% conversion. This method permits production of styrene plastics using a common technology, while providing specified bead size distribution, low concentration of dust fractions, and enhancement of the process stability.

  • Patent number: 5449396
Abstract: A pulp with ph=9.5 to 11.5, resin, and cyanide KCN is fed to a reaction zone. KCN is in a concentration of CN.sup.- ions in the liquid phase of the pulp from about 0.1 to about 10 g/l, which is maintained constant. The sorbent is in an amount providing its concentration 1 to 1.5% of the reaction zone volume. The leaching procedure produces a sorbent with impurities and rich in gold and silver, and a cyanic pulp depleted of gold and silver. Then, the sorbent rich in gold and silver is separated from the cyanic pulp. The saturated sorbent with impurities is processed in the desorption zone in two stages by passing therethrough a sulfuric acid solution of thiourea, the volume of the solution comprising 10 to 15 volumes of said sorbent. The sulfuric acid solution of thiourea is in an amount of 30% to 50% of said solution volume. A sulfuric acid solution of thiourea rich in gold and silver and a sorbent depleted of gold, silver and impurities is obtained.

  • Patent number: 5437089
Abstract: A method for continuous production of hot-rolled strips is used at metal works and involves continuously casting a thin slab which is stored and rolled into a strip in the form of individual portions in several runs with return into the storage zone and with subsequent cooling, cutting, and coiling. The slab and the returned portion are stored simultaneously by combined coiling into an intermediate coil which is moved along the storage zone during coiling and during uncoiling of the portion of the slab and strip being rolled. An apparatus for carrying out the method has roller-hearth furnace, a storage in the form of a carriage provided outside the roller-hearth furnace for movement therealong, and a means for forming an intermediate coil from the slab and from the returned portion of the strip. The means for forming is installed on the carriage in the furnace so that the intermediate coil can move over rollers of the furnace during coiling and uncoiling.

  • Patent number: 5437884
Abstract: This process is used to remove the bones and joints from duck feet and to process the duck feet to make them edible. Initially, the duck feet are frozen for one or two days and are then thawed. After slow cooking for fifteen minutes, the duck feet are soaked in cold water for twenty minutes. After refrigerating for two hours, the bones and joints of the feet are removed. For about five minutes, cold water is run over the duck feet and then the duck feet are washed for 90 to 120 minutes in a solution of oxygen bleach and 100 degree F. water. Then, cold water is run over the cold feet for two hours and then the duck feet are refrigerated for two hours. At that point, the duck feet are ready for packaging or for serving or for additional cooking.

  • Patent number: 5437883
Abstract: This process is used to prepare pig meat, including pig stomachs and pig intestines. The process includes the steps of thawing, cooking, washing, and refrigeration. Frozen pig meat is first thawed. The meat is then slow cooked in 195 degree F. water for a certain period after which the cooking process is stopped. The meat is then washed in a granular sodium hydroxide solution, rinsed and then soaked in an oxygen bleach solution and rinsed again. The meat is then refrigerated for sale.

  • Patent number: 5375434
Abstract: The removable jewelry stone setting includes a cover that is pivoted on a finger of the setting to permit the removal and replacement of the jewelry stone. A link is pivotally connected to the other end the cover. At the other end of the link, a lock is pivotally connected to the link and its other end is removably frictionally engaged to the finger. In this way, by releasing the friction fit of the tab of the lock against the finger, the lock and link can be released, so as to permit the pivotal movement of the cover, so as to permit the removal and replacement of the jewelry stone.

  • Patent number: 5372191
Abstract: A device comprises cleaning heads 4,5 mounted on a shaft for free rotation. On sinking and elevating the device on a tractive member, in a liquid up-current, the heads start rotating in different sides. Cutting elements--knives--having an involute profile and arranged on oppositely directed spiral paths cut the deposits. On descent, cutting collars of said knives situated in the lower portion on head perform "rough" cutting, the knives of both heads crush the cuts and chips, and cutting collars in the upper portion of the upper head carry out the "finishing" of the internal surface of an uptake pipe. The given mathematical relations defining the ratio of parameters of the device elements are as follows: the heights of heads and an angle of attack of knives, the lengths of the shaft and a stabilizer, their mass, the length of the pitch of knives and the diameter of the heads.
