Abstract: A dental implant for securement within a bore within a maxilla or mandible, inclusive of the cortical bone includes a threaded elongate anchor having a proximal upper portion having a larger outside diameter than that of an integral distal lower portion, the anchor defining, in axial cross-section, an envelope in which the upper portion substantially defines a cylinder and the lower portion substantially defines a conical section, and an engagable head integrally dependent from a proximal surface of the proximal portion of the anchor, the head having an outside diameter smaller than a greatest outside diameter of the proximal portion of the anchor, the outside diameter of the head also equal or less than a diameter of an entry region into the bore. A greatest axial length of the lower portion defines a length of about 6.0 mm.
Abstract: A method for treating dermatoses including transient acantholytic dermatitis, acne miliaris necrotica, acne varioliformis, perioral dermatitis, and acneiform eruptions is disclosed. The method includes topical application of a dermatological composition containing an avermectin compound to the affected areas of a patient.
Abstract: Methods for treating acne vulgaris are disclosed. The treatment includes topical application of a dermatological composition containing an avermectin compound to the affected areas of a patient alone, or in conjunction with other conventional methods of treating acne vulgaris. The dermatological composition contains an avermectin compound in a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, including water, glycols, alcohols, lotions, creams, gels, emulsions, sprays, soaps, body washes, facial cleansers, and facial masks.
Abstract: A non-aerosol, non-wick pump spray system consisting of an emulsion of triethylene glycol in a range of about 0.5% to about 6.0% in distilled water, a surfactant such as sodium alkylbenzene sulfonate, and a suitable fragrance.
Abstract: A method of microwave cooking, heating and re-heating includes the steps of placing food to be cooked, heated or re-heated into a microwave compatible container having an open mouth thereof and, thereafter, applying over said mouth of said microwave compatible container an FDA grade waxpaper having a basis weight in a range of about 18/28 to about 21/33. Thereafter, the container is placed in a microwave oven for less than a prescribed period of heating for such food type and quantity. Alternatively, such FDA grade waxpaper may be tightly wrapped about food to be heated and thereafter placed within a microwave oven, thereby dispensing with the use of any microwave compatible container.
Abstract: A micromechanical seal between a first body and a second body is co-axially threadably securable about a portion of the first body. The seal is created by the combination of an annular planar radial surface within the first body; a surface of rotation of the first body disposed radially inwardly of the annular plane surface and defining, within a radial plane of the body, an obtuse angle, relative to the planar radial surface, in a range of about 90.
Abstract: A dental drill, formed of a substantially solid elongate body, includes (a) a longitudinal shank having a proximal and a distal end and having an axially disposed irrigation channel; (b) a working portion comprising (i) an annular boss integrally disposed distally of the shank; (ii) a neck of reduced radius relative to the boss, integrally disposed distally of the boss; (iii) a cutting region of uniform diameter integrally disposed distally of the neck; and (iv) a cutting region having a tapered external geometry, integrally dependant distally of the cutting region of uniform diameter, the cutting regions including at least four integral axi-symmetric flutes formed upon lateral surfaces of the regions, each of the flutes defining co-axial peripheral profiles, each of the flutes separated by substantially co-axial integral channels, each having at least one outlet therein, the working portion of the drill having an irrigation channel extending the entire length and integral with the shank irrigation, the one o
Abstract: A method of treatment of seborrheic dermatitis includes the application, in the form of either a lotion or a cream, of a mixture including a therapeutically effective amount of ivermectin in water in a concentration of about 750 micrograms per milliliter (mcg/ml), in the case of a lotion, and with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier if used as a cream. Such a lotion or cream is applied nightly for a period of seven days and then employed on a maintenance basis one to four times per month.
Abstract: An interchangeable liner for a paint container constitutes a semi-rigid unitary liner having a mouth, a basin portion proportioned for conformal engagement with a solid segment of an interior volume of the container. The liner also includes a circular top, including an outer attachment ring defining a lip proportioned for snap-fittable securement onto a circumferential lip of said paint container, with such liner, one type of paint may be held in it, while a second paint or painter's liquid is held within the paint container proper.
Abstract: The instant high efficiency carousel pizza oven is an oven of the open cavity or open input type which permits food access and fluid communication with the atmosphere through a proximal or front opening within the oven housing. The present oven is preferably defined in terms of a method which employs a solid rotating thermal reservoir in the nature of a circular panel capable of storing large amounts of thermal energy per unit of mass. Rotation of the panel assures that hot spots will not develop thereby eliminating scorching of food items cooked thereon. Provided beneath the panel, in thermal communication therewith, and preferably along a radius thereof situated substantially normal to an axis of rotation of the panel, is a flame burner which furnishes greater heat to the panel as a function of increase in distance from the axis to thereby provide cooking of uniform heating to the rotating panel as a function of increase in circumference relative to distance from the axis.
Abstract: A cable hoist controller used with mechanized multi-story scaffolding includes a load-bearing support plate and a prime mover secured to the support plate, the prime mover having a rotational power output shaft in direct mechanical communication with an angular velocity modification gear. The controller also includes a primary gear in driven gear relationship with the velocity modification gear, and journalled to the support plate; and a driving sheave having an axial width and further having a circumferential surface including a circumferential cable-receiving groove, the sheave journalled upon a common axis of rotation of both the primary gear and the sheave, the sheave secured in fixed rotational relationship with the primary gear. Also included is a cable situated within the cable-receiving groove of the sheave and a sequence of rollers, each having a circumferential cable-receiving groove.
Abstract: A new use of the botanical substance Capsaicin entails application of Capsaicin to pre-malignant basal and squamous cell lesions of the epithelium. Advantageous treatment, including atrophication and de-coloration of such lesions is accomplished. The substance, which is applied topically, is employed in a potency, or concentration, of about 0.010% to 0.200% (w/w). Capsaicin in the same potency can also be employed in a base of aloe vera.
Abstract: The present invention relates to techniques for the preparation and implantation of implants with surgical cements composed primarily of calcium sulfate (“CS”). The first of these novel techniques involves the steps of: (1.) precoating an implant with CS; (2.) permitting the implant to dry, and, (3.) thereafter grouting the implant in place with wet CS. The second embodiment involves: (1.) grouting an uncoated implant in place with wet CS. Finally, the third embodiment involves: (1.) precoating an implant with CS; (2.) permitting it to dry; and, (2.) subsequently press-fitting the implant in place without grouting.
