  • Patent number: 6357268
Abstract: It is possible for a fastener lock apparatus to reverse the rotational direction of a handle (4) by simply pulling forward a locking shaft (3) against a resilient force exerted by a spring member (14), and then rotating both the locking shaft (3) and a rotation angle limiting disc (10) relative to a fixed base mount member (1) in a condition in which a rotation permitting shaft portion (18) of the locking shaft (3) is received in a central through-hole (13) of the rotation angle limiting disc 10, wherein the central through-hole (13) of the rotation angle limiting disc 10 assumes a rectangular shape in front view while the rotation permitting shaft portion (18) of the locking shaft (3) assumes a round shape in cross section so as to be capable of being received and rotating in the central through-hole (13) of the rotation angle limiting disc 10.

  • Patent number: 6146070
Abstract: After a bolt (3) and a double-structured nut (6) are fastened to each other, it is not possible to unfasten the bolt (3) and nut (6), because a predetermined part of the nut (6) is designed to break when subjected to a predetermined torque necessary for fastening the nut (6), and thereby permitting the remaining part of the nut (6) to remain fastened securely to the bolt (3) after the fastening operation of the bolt (3) and nut (6) is performed. The nut (6) double-structure including a cylindrical cover member (7) may alternatively be utilized for a similar double-structured bolt head (42) having a protective cover (43).

  • Patent number: 6048074
Abstract: A miniature decorative electric lamp assembly includes an electric bulb inserted into a lampbase member, with the lampbase lower end being received in the upper end of a central longitudinal passageway in a socket member which contains dual electrical contacts each connected to an insulated wire. The lamp assembly also includes an external interlocking device for which the lampbase upper portion includes an elongated semi-flexible radial extending tongue element which has an outer biased elastic detent portion, and the socket member includes a rigid radial frame element having a central opening. During lamp assembly the lampbase member is inserted into the socket member and the internal electric contacts are made and the tongue detent portion is hooked into the frame element, so that the two members are locked firmly together so as to preclude any inadvertent separation and electric disconnect during handling or use.

  • Patent number: 6017261
Abstract: An animated mechanized figure which can be dressed as a tiger Santa character and is electrically-operated to provide vertical movements of the body and arms, forward and backward tilting of the head and vertical movements from the lower lip, together with vocal sounds emitted from a speaker provided in the body. The body member is movably supported from a central vertical post mounted on a base. A gear box is fixedly attached on the vertical post central portion within the body member, and contains a first electric drive motor and a driven rotor having an eccentric pin which contacts the body member rear part and moves the body and arms upward and downward, and also tilts the head forward and backward. The head member contains a second electric drive motor and driven rotor which is associated with a torsion spring unit and connected to a linkage which pivots the lower lip flap upward and downward in synchronism with vocal sounds emitted from the speaker mounted in the front part of the body member.

  • Patent number: 5969469
Abstract: A miniature decorative electric lamp assembly includes an electric bulb having dual bare wires inserted into a lampbase, with the lampbase lower end being received in the upper end of a lampholder socket which contains dual contact or blades each connected to an insulated wire. The lampbase lower end has a lower projection portion which is preferably triangular-shaped and extends downwardly to a position between the dual contact or blades of the lampholder socket, so as to preclude any inadvertent electrical short between the blades and bare upper ends of the insulated wires. This configuration also permits any moisture which may enter the lamp assembly to be reliably drained away through openings in the lampbase lower end and the socket member lower end adjacent the electrical insulated wires.

  • Patent number: 5954063
Abstract: A hair cutting and styling device includes a semi-rigid inner band member which has a curved generally semi-circular shape and is sized to substantially encircle the head of a user and be retained in place by an elongated strap member attached onto one end of the inner band member. The elongated strap member is formed of a detachable hook and loop fastening material such as VELCRO.RTM., which permits the device to be releasably retained on the head of a person whose hair is being cut and styled. Alternatively, the device inner band member first portion may include a bendable metal strip and the strap portion includes an elastic fabric segment.

  • Patent number: 5950417
Abstract: A multi-stage topping combustor unit having rich burn, and lean burn zones followed by a quench/dilution zone. Combustible fuel gas is supplied only to the rich burn zone, and an oxygen-containing air-flue gas mixture is supplied to all three zones in a fixed flow proportioning that establishes a desired temperature profile through the combustor unit that minimizes combustor NOx and CO emissions. The combustor unit casing is cooled by an augmented air and oxygen stream discharged into the rich burn zone only, or into both the rich and lean burn zones. The cooling air flow is regulated by a control device/valve that allows the cooling air flow, and hence the augmenting oxygen entering the rich burn zone or the rich and lean burn zones, to be reduced as the fuel gas flow/firing temperature is reduced.

  • Patent number: 5947674
Abstract: An unheading device for removable attachment onto a lower flanged opening of a vertically-oriented vessel such as a coking drum, the unheading device being controllably supported by multiple elongated vertically-extendable actuators such as hydraulic cylinders which extend between a lifting frame unit holding a head unit and the vessel support structure. The multiple vertically-extendable actuators are each pivotably attached at its lower end to the lifting frame unit, and are each pivotably attached at its upper end to the separate stationary support structure for the vessel. The unheading device is adapted for lowering the head unit and moving it laterally aside to a parking position on a platform portion of the vessel support structure, then raising the lifting frame unit with its attached decoking chute unit to contact the vessel lower flanged opening for coke removal therefrom.

  • Patent number: 5921869
Abstract: A golf club head set having the club head back side divided into four areas, including the perimeter weighted region A; the sweet spot area B located directly behind the ball striking area, two separated non-striking areas C, and the low central region D. The sweet spot area B is further divided into three distinct weight levels, and the low central region D is divided into four additional weight levels. By adding and dropping weight levels as well as by changing the thickness of the levels, the weight distribution of each club head is changed so as to control center of gravity and polar moment of inertia and provide gradated performance specific to each club head in the set.
