    Abstract: A process and an arrangement are described for determining reference positions for planar hybrid stepper motors having a stator which is provided with a structure and a rotor which is supported thereon in air bearings. The process includes the following steps: The rotor is set down on the stator and the air supply for the air bearing is switched on. The rotor is brought into an alignment position in a working connection with at least two defined, stationary mechanical stops or with displacement-free electrical contacts manually or by mechanical or electrical auxiliary device or in a self-propelled manner. The air supply for the air bearing is then turned off in order to fix the rotor in this alignment position and the rotor is then so supplied with current in sequence in a defined manner and the air supply to the air bearings switched on in such a way that the rotor is brought from the alignment position into a reference position which is aligned with respect to the stator structure.

    Abstract: A SIMOX substrate 1 is processed through high temperature oxidation treatment after forming a mask-pattern 3 to shield specified electrodes from oxidation in order to increase partly a thickness of a buffed oxide layer 2 to form an area 4. Next, after an oxide film is removed from the surface of the substrate and LOCOS separation is practiced, MOSFET is produced by fabricating a source S and a drain D on the area 4 or the buffed oxide layer 2. Since the buried oxide layer corresponding to electrodes parts influenced by disadvantages of parasitic capacitance are thickened, an operation speed of an inverter is not much decreased and since mean thickness of the buried oxide layer can be thinner, a decrease of a drain electric current by negative electrical resistance can be suppressed. Furthermore, since the thickness of the buffed oxide layer can be controlled in response to each device, plural devices having different breakdown voltages are formed together on the same substrate.

    Abstract: A cutting member for a medical material removal instrument comprises a cutting head having an axis and an elongate drive rod eccentrically attached at a distal end to the cutting head at a location spaced from the axis. The drive rod extends substantially parallel to the axis. The cutting member is used with an introducer sheath or catheter which has a distal end portion inserted into a patient. The cutting head is provided with a cut-out on the proximal side in part for enabling a drawing of material in a proximal direction internally from a patient into a distal end of the sheath upon a partial ejection of the cutting head from the distal end of the sheath during a material removal operation. The material drawn into the sheath is severed in a scissors-type action of the cutting head against the distal end of the sheath upon a drawing of the cutting head via the drive rod into the distal end of the sheath.

    Abstract: This invention relates to a solution for detecting counterfeit paper currency. The solution contains iodine at a concentration of from 0.005 to 3 grams/liter and one or more solvents selected from the groups consisting of: alcohols, ketones, polyalcohols, esters, ethers, or mixtures thereof of solvents belonging to the same group or to several groups of these solvents. The solvent, if miscible with water, contains distilled water in a ratio of from 99:1 to 1:99 parts by volume. If not miscible in water, the solvent is saturated with distilled water at a temperature of 20.degree. C. The solution is preferably contained in ballpoint pens, fountain pens or other similar dispensers which are then used to countersign the paper currency. A counterfeit currency will cause a visible line to appear on the currency, in about one minute. However, in the case of genuine paper currency, the drawn line of solution does not change color and disappears completely from the countersigned currency.
