Abstract: A process and an arrangement are described for determining reference positions for planar hybrid stepper motors having a stator which is provided with a structure and a rotor which is supported thereon in air bearings. The process includes the following steps: The rotor is set down on the stator and the air supply for the air bearing is switched on. The rotor is brought into an alignment position in a working connection with at least two defined, stationary mechanical stops or with displacement-free electrical contacts manually or by mechanical or electrical auxiliary device or in a self-propelled manner. The air supply for the air bearing is then turned off in order to fix the rotor in this alignment position and the rotor is then so supplied with current in sequence in a defined manner and the air supply to the air bearings switched on in such a way that the rotor is brought from the alignment position into a reference position which is aligned with respect to the stator structure.

Abstract: A SIMOX substrate 1 is processed through high temperature oxidation treatment after forming a mask-pattern 3 to shield specified electrodes from oxidation in order to increase partly a thickness of a buffed oxide layer 2 to form an area 4. Next, after an oxide film is removed from the surface of the substrate and LOCOS separation is practiced, MOSFET is produced by fabricating a source S and a drain D on the area 4 or the buffed oxide layer 2. Since the buried oxide layer corresponding to electrodes parts influenced by disadvantages of parasitic capacitance are thickened, an operation speed of an inverter is not much decreased and since mean thickness of the buried oxide layer can be thinner, a decrease of a drain electric current by negative electrical resistance can be suppressed. Furthermore, since the thickness of the buffed oxide layer can be controlled in response to each device, plural devices having different breakdown voltages are formed together on the same substrate.

The front central portion of the bib is made of a water absorbent ply material while the remaining portions are made of a water repellent ply material. Abstract: A cutting member for a medical material removal instrument comprises a cutting head having an axis and an elongate drive rod eccentrically attached at a distal end to the cutting head at a location spaced from the axis. The drive rod extends substantially parallel to the axis. The cutting member is used with an introducer sheath or catheter which has a distal end portion inserted into a patient. The cutting head is provided with a cut-out on the proximal side in part for enabling a drawing of material in a proximal direction internally from a patient into a distal end of the sheath upon a partial ejection of the cutting head from the distal end of the sheath during a material removal operation. The material drawn into the sheath is severed in a scissors-type action of the cutting head against the distal end of the sheath upon a drawing of the cutting head via the drive rod into the distal end of the sheath.
Abstract: This invention relates to a solution for detecting counterfeit paper currency. The solution contains iodine at a concentration of from 0.005 to 3 grams/liter and one or more solvents selected from the groups consisting of: alcohols, ketones, polyalcohols, esters, ethers, or mixtures thereof of solvents belonging to the same group or to several groups of these solvents. The solvent, if miscible with water, contains distilled water in a ratio of from 99:1 to 1:99 parts by volume. If not miscible in water, the solvent is saturated with distilled water at a temperature of 20.degree. C. The solution is preferably contained in ballpoint pens, fountain pens or other similar dispensers which are then used to countersign the paper currency. A counterfeit currency will cause a visible line to appear on the currency, in about one minute. However, in the case of genuine paper currency, the drawn line of solution does not change color and disappears completely from the countersigned currency.
Abstract: A clothing accessory device comprises a body part, a first fastener on the body part for coupling the body part to a strap of a brassiere, and a second fastener on the body part for coupling the body part to an article of clothing overlying the brassiere during use thereof. The second fastener includes a spring loaded mechanism or component for engaging and fixing the article of clothing relative to the body of the clothing accessory device. The spring loaded mechanism generally includes a pair of opposed jaws biased towards one another by a spring. The jaws may be slidably or translatably coupled and biased towards one another by a compression spring. One of the jaws is fixed to the body part of the clothing accessory device and the other jaw is provided on an ancillary member slidably coupled to the body part, the compression spring being disposed between the ancillary member and the body part.

The transmitter unit and receiving unit each comprise at least two separate transmitters and receivers. All of the transmitters and receivers are triggered off by a common trigger which is arranged to trigger each individual transmitter mutually in series during a sequence period so that the transmitters produce signals with mutually distinct frequencies/characteristics. The individual receivers are matched to the respective transmitters to be able to present the frequencies/characteristics of video signals in approximately the entire sequence.

The insulation layer is formed by applying a liquid insulating agent. The insulating layer may be formed by laminating at least two types of liquid insulating materials on a surface of the core.
Abstract: The clamping device for connecting a snowboard formed from two skis and a center part has a connection member which is supported on the center part so as to be swivelable around a swivel pin, this connection part having hooks formed at its ends which define corresponding receiving openings. Hardware fittings are arranged on the skis, wherein a movable hardware part is supported on a hardware part that is held on the ski in a stationary manner. Each movable hardware part has an eccentric with which hooks cooperate so as to effect a clamping after the rotation of the movable hardware parts and the compulsory rotation of the eccentrics.
Abstract: A structural frame is composed of a series of struts which are arranged in a particular fashion that steers the stress applied to the frame so as to minimize development of tension and maximize the resolution of the stress in terms of compression. The frame is composed of a plurality of unicubes which are twelve equal length struts arranged to form the edges of a cube and eight additional equal length struts extending out from each corner of the cube. Each of the eight outwardly extending struts forming an equal angle with each of the three cube edge struts to which it is connected. The outboard ends of these outwardly extending struts are connected together so that sets of four such outboard strut ends are connected to form a network of these unicubes, which network constitutes the structural frame.
Abstract: An apparatus for breeding fish comprises a pool having an impervious annular outer wall for floating in a body of water. A water distributor is located in an upper portion of the pool for directing the flow of water into the pool to set the volume of water in the pool into a rotating motion. An exhaust is located in the bottom of the pool for the free flow of water and debris from the pool into the surrounding body of water. The water distributor includes a regulating handle for changing the direction of flow of the water from the distributor to regulate the speed of the rotating volume of water in the pool.

The support member is provided with at least one aperture traversable by a toothbrush handle and is further provided with a hole spaced from the aperture for enabling drainage of fluid from the support member. The lid member is hinged to the support member so as to be shiftable between a closure position covering the support member and a toothbrush head on the support member and an opened position providing access to the support member and a toothbrush supported thereby.
Abstract: In a cooking device having a housing which can be closed by a door, a hinge support in the form of a slide or carriage is guided at one side wall so as to be displaceable at guide rails which are arranged horizontally at the side wall. One part of a hinge arrangement is fastened at the hinge support and the other part of the hinge arrangement is fastened to the door. The hinge support is guided at the guide rail by guide rollers which contact the guide rails in a positive engagement without play. In this way it is possible when opening the door to displace the same into a parallel position alongside the side wall.
Abstract: Two joint components in a pipe conduit are secured together in seal-tight fashion by means of rotatably mounted dogs in one of the joint components which are rotated via individual slides into an active locking position. Abstract: A method for sequencing nucleotides by attaching magnetizable moieties to the components of a mixture of such polynucleotide proteins and fragments, subjecting the mixture to a separation procedure to distribute the compounds on a substrate in a pattern according to molecular size and quantity, imparting magnetic properties to the attached magnetizable moieties, and then subjecting the substrate to magnetic reading to determine the molecular size and quantity of the compounds. Also disclosed is a method for monitoring a molecule amplification process wherein primers are used to produce copies of a molecule, which primers become part of the copy of the molecule by attaching a magnetized moiety to each primer such that the copy has magnetizable moieties at each end. The magnetizable moieties may then be magnetized.
