Abstract: Proposed is a connecting socket used for electric connection between electrode terminals of a semiconductor package and electrode terminals of a circuit board by being interposed therebetween. The socket is an assembly consisting of a base body in the form of a frame made from an insulating material, in which a semiconductor package is put and secured in the position, and an anisotropically electroconductive elastic sheet member bonded to the bottom surface of the base body. Abstract: A hydrodynamic bearing apparatus comprises at least two hydrodynamic bearing units which rotatably support a rotation member against a fixed member by hydrodynamic pressure of a lubricant filled in a bearing space. A thrust plate is adhesively bonded on one of the rotation member and fixed member to support the rotation member in an axial direction. The thrust plate and rotation member or fixed member form a junction. A mechanical bonding device bonds the thrust plate onto one of the rotation member and fixed member. A sealing agent prevents the lubricant from leaking from the junction between the thrust plate and the rotation member or fixed member. The sealing agent fills a space that communicates with the junction.
Abstract: The binding, which is suitable for touring skis as well as snowboards, is constructed in two parts and includes a base part which is shorter than the conventional touring binding and is mounted on a narrow snowboard by means of a fastening part without projecting over the lateral edges of the snowboard. As a result of the decreased length, the clamped in boot projects beyond the base part. A fastening part formed by a bearing part and a lengthening piece is arranged in a stationary manner with respect to the ski so that this base part can also be used as a touring binding. The lengthening piece is supported at the bearing part in a swivelable manner. This lengthening piece can be inserted into and secured within an insert enclosure constructed at the base part.

This negative contrast agent provides dark imaging in a T2 weighted pulse sequence; namely a relative signal intensity (RSI) approaching zero. It also provides a relative signal intensity (RSI) of under 30 percent of that of a reference that approximates tissue in a T1 weighted pulse sequence.

Abstract: A flame based method for analyzing a sample by introducing the sample into a combustible gas mixture, igniting the combustible gas mixture to produce a flame, and detecting a characteristic of the resulting flame to determine the identity and/or concentration of one or more chemical substances in the sample, wherein the combustible gas mixture is generated by water electrolysis. The same method is also utilizable for determining the identity and/or concentration of one or more chemical compounds in the sample. A flame based detector apparatus for analyzing a sample is also described.

The gel-like heat-conductive layer is specified by a specific heat conductivity in the range from 0.001 to 0.005 calorie/cm.multidot.second.multidot..degree.C. and a specific consistency defined by the value of the 1/4-cone penetration in the range from 10 to 80 (.times.1/10 mm) at 25.degree. C. according to JIS K 2920.
Abstract: An improved device for sewing two articles with overlapped edges, includes a longitudinal guide (7), laterally delimited by two inclined, upwardly convergent, flat surfaces (7a,7b) on which a first article (1) and second article (2) to be sewn are moved. A curved winglet (11) is made integral with the top of the guide (7) and is bent downwards to overhang one of the inclined surface (7b). A folding over member (12), moves vertically over the longitudinal guide (7), so as to clamp an edge (3) of the first article (1) on the curved winglet (11), thus folding over the edge (3) so as to overlap a corresponding edge of the second article (2), while a needle (20) makes a stitch (4). A support element (17), equipped with a presser foot (18), presses the edge of the second article against the inclined surface (7b) of the guide (7).

Abstract: An apparatus and method for reducing NO.sub.x pollution in flue gas produced by a power plant uses heat exchanger elements having extended surfaces which contain a SCR catalyst, with the heat exchanger elements located in the flue gas stream. Coolant is passed through the heat exchanger elements to cool the catalyst, with a temperature control system used to maintain the catalyst at its optimum temperature such that the maximum conversion of NO.sub.x is achieved. Utilizing the present invention, temperature cycling of the catalyst is avoided, prolonging the life of the catalyst, while at the same time optimizing the efficiency of conversion regardless of variations in the flue gas flow or temperature.
