Abstract: A novel back stop gauge for determining accurate and safe positioning of work piece material in a machine tool, such as a press brake, wherein a linear stop has an axially stiff, but transversely flexible coil spring intermediate end portions, one end portion being engaged by work piece material and the opposite end portion being anchored to a cooperating support. Misplacement of work material either over or beneath the stop, while normally destructive of the work piece upon closure of the press brake, does not result in damage to the machine tool or the press because of the flexible nature of the back stop, which permits movement of the stop out of the path of the machine tool.
Abstract: A mechanical fuel cell, in which a novel two cycle type, six cylinder, twin cam, internal combustion rotary engine, operable generally at constant speed, drives a plurality of magnets over a stationary wire coil to generate electrical energy.
Abstract: A stabilizing apparatus for rigidifying tubular, slide-out compartment support systems used in recreational vehicles and trailers. This apparatus employs one or more extensible tubular leg assemblies capable of being locked at selected lengths to fit terrain of the parked vehicle. Pairs of legs are adapted to form an A-frame in which the apex of the A is securely clamped to a single tubular slide out or underframe member. The legs are usually spread at an angle of 25-60.degree. from the vertical with foot pads at their outer ends substantially parallel to the ground level. Once so positioned the outer, lower ends of the spread legs are interconnected by a flexible strap equipped with a rachet tensioner or come along device whereby the strap may be tensioned to place the engaged attachment bracket under compression serving thereby to stabilize the slide out against lateral sway or movement.
Abstract: A multi-piece die section for a press brake installed rotary bending tool in which a forming anvil is positioned in a holder in accordance with the thickness of material to be bent so that the rotary bender and press brake operate on the same center line. In one version of the holder a forming anvil is adjustably positioned relative to the center line of the rotary bender and in a second version thereof the forming anvil is precision sized in accordance with the thickness of the work material whereby to eliminate the need for shims and readjustment of press ram stroke as required by the first version.
Abstract: A combination shelf and clothes rod support bracket formed by a single, elongated, metal strap reinforced by raised ribs, having two bends to form a linear mounting leg and a linear shelf support leg related at right angles. An angle brace extends between the two legs to form a rigid triangular structure. A clothes rod support has a leg portion fixed to the angle brace adjacently beneath the shelf support leg and includes a forwardly and downwardly extending arm portion and an upwardly extending finger portion forming a hook having a semi-cylindrical lip at the outer end of the upwardly extending finger portion. The lip portion engageably undersupports a cylindrical clothes rod. The forward and upward extent of the hook and the position of the rod engaging lip is such that a conventional clothes hanger having its hook engaged with the clothes rod is freely slidable along the clothes rod without engaging any part of the support bracket.
Abstract: A rotary bending tool holder, particularly useful in a press brake type press, which embodies a two piece holder, namely a main body and clamp; usually attached to the moveable ram of the press brake. A rotary bending tool used with the holder is provided with elongated rectangular keyway slots along opposite sides which are aligned to received opposing tabs or keys engageable with such slots. One key is formed on the clamp of the holder while the other key is formed on the main body of the holder. Once positioned in the holder, the clamp is tightened to engage its associated key in one of the slots of the bending tool. This action causes the other key on the holder body to engage the other slot of the bending tool. At the same time opposing surfaces on the holder body and bending tool, located at the same distance from the center line of the tool holder engage to precisely align the center of the rotary head on the center line of the holder and press head.
Abstract: A knock-down towing dolly assembly having a wheel supported cradle for engaging a pair of front or rear wheels of a vehicle to be towed; the assembly being capable of elevating the vehicle's cradle engaged wheels in response to operation of improved automatic locking and unlocking actuators; associated one with each of four towing dolly wheels whereby the cradle engaged wheels of the vehicle are elevated to a towing position.
Abstract: A toy device for pet animals, particularly cat's and like natural hunters, comprising a ground engaging base pedestal, a pair of rigid linear posts, adapted to be coaxially assembled with a single relatively stiff coil spring to form a flexible mast anchored at one end to the pedestal; an elongated highly flexible linear wire spring carrying a pet attractive bait or fascinator at one end and a connector at its opposite end, for connecting the wire spring to the non-anchored end of the mast, the connector rotatably supporting the linear spring for 360.degree. rotation. A modified coil spring is fitted with a noise maker operably reactive to flexure of the coil spring.
Abstract: A telescoping bleacher system having plural sectional rows of cantilever mounted seats and horizontal foot decks moveable between an extended use position whereat the rows are cascaded in descending order and a storage position in which the rows are superposed in vertical registration, and wherein plural guard rail units are permanently secured to the cantilever seats and foot decks for movement therewith between stored and extended positions; such guard rails being individually associated with each sectional row to provide vertically extending safety barriers across the exposed ends of the seats and foot decks and importantly operable to nest in a storage position within the foot well of each row without interfering with telescoping movements of the bleacher sections.
Abstract: An improved, unitary signal assembly operable to replace removeable signal assemblies of sub-surface mounted roadway markers or alternatively capable of being mounted directly to pavement surfaces comprising a load carrying, rigid, compression resistant, metal center bar for transmitting vertical loads directly to a rigid base mounted in a sub-surface depression formed in a paved roadway or directly to the roadway surface when mounted independently of such a base; the center bar being integrated with a support base carrying at least one light emitting signal device formed separate or integrally with angularly disposed sides of the base; the center bar including a laterally extending canopy at its upper end operable for protectively overhanging the upper end of a signal device to insulate the same from impact loads.
Abstract: An improved mounting system for clamping sinks, vanity basins, drop-in stove tops and like articles to the underside of a counter or cabinet top incorporating a pair of elongated unitary, rigid mounting rails configured to carry threaded leveling bolts and nuts at adjustably spaced intervals along its length for underengaging and clamping the rim flange at the upper end of the sink or the like to the underside of a countertop. Hanger brackets attachable to the upper margins of countertop supporting cabinet structural frame rails or walls provide vertically adjustable connection with opposite ends of the mounting rails mounted thereon to accommodate sinks, basins or stove tops having rim flanges of varying thickness and dimensions.
