  • Patent number: 8118694
Abstract: An arrow with retractable blades having an arrow shaft with a cylindrical extension extending from a forward end, an arrow tip having a main body with an open rear end, an arrow shaft recess and a cylinder recess sized to receive the cylindrical extension. The main body includes a plurality of longitudinal blade slots with a blade pivotally affixed within each blade slot, with each blade jointly pivotable between a closed position and a deployed position, with a spring within the arrow shaft recess biasing the forward end of said arrow shaft normally rearward. Spaced circumferential ridges on the cylindrical extension engage mating teeth on each blade such that forward motion of the cylindrical extension within the cylinder recess pivots the blades into the deployed position and rearward motion of the cylindrical extension pivots the blades into the closed position, with a threaded cap over the open rear end of the main body maintaining the forward end of the arrow shaft within the arrow shaft recess.

  • Patent number: 8037978
Abstract: An eddy current magnetic braking system that is based on drag created when a conductor moves through a stationary magnetic field. As the magnetic field increases the drag value also increases. The invention provides a magnetic braking system for use on zip line/cable rides and trolleys. Alternate designs of the present invention include a magnetic braking system having a trolley that moves on a zip line/cable to a brake block which is connected to a pulley cable, as the trolley pushes the brake block, the pulley moves the conductor into a magnetic field creating an eddy current brake that slows the trolley to a stop.

The framework (11) has a contour shape of the upper portion of a pair of pants, making it easier to drape the upper portion of the pants over the machine for pressing. In reference to FIG. 2B a pressing machine for pressing the inseams and out seams on the legs of a pair of pants. The pressing framework (42) is wider at the rear side and narrower at the opposite end, allowing relatively small and large pants to be pressed. In reference to FIG. 3C the pressing machine is to be used on creased pants. The framework plate (73) has an indention (74). The seams of a pair of pants are aligned with the indention, when the plate (73) is brought down, it will not touch the seams. The pants are left with no impressions or shiny marks. All three pressing machines have steam and vacuum valve connections and are manually operated, by stepping on the foot pedals.
