  • Patent number: 7490141
Abstract: An Ajax proxy indirection technique enables a local, front-end proxy server to handle Ajax requests from an Ajax client that must be serviced by an external Ajax server in an external domain, instead of a local Ajax back-end server exposing itself to the external domain. The front-end proxy server accepts the Ajax client's request and forwards it to the local Ajax back-end server. The proxy server asks the local AJAX server for the credentials to be used in the “external” AJAX request. The local Ajax back-end server then responds to the proxy server with meta-data for the external domain request that the proxy will make to the external domain. The proxy server uses the credentials of the “external” AJAX request to make the external request to the external Ajax server in the external domain. The proxy server performs any authentication and necessary domain mapping with the external Ajax server before sending a response from the external Ajax server back to the client.

  • Patent number: 7489333
Abstract: A fundus camera for performing fluorescent image pickup is provided. A timer is started when a fluorescent agent is infused into a body, and a mode of an amplifying ratio control part is set to AGC. AGC is then checked, and fluorescent illuminance curves of respective eyes to be examined are calculated, if the AGC is operating. A fluorescent illuminance value at a fundus is calculated from a gain value on the AGC and a corresponding time which are stored in an amplifying ratio memory, thereby determining a proper exposure value. When the AGC is not operating, the fluorescent illuminance value is calculated from the calculated illuminance curves of the respective eyes to be examined and an output of a timer, thereby determining a proper exposure value. When an image pickup switch is depressed while observing an image, input from the image pickup switch is detected.

  • Patent number: 7489669
Abstract: In an ad hoc mode based on IEEE802.11 standard, when a wireless terminal performs a power save operation to create a network, and a network identifier identical to that of the network to be created is present, the wireless terminal does not join the network. When the wireless terminal is to join the network, and the network identifier identical to that of the network which the wireless terminal is to join is not present, the wireless terminal does not join any network. In this method, reliable connectivity can be obtained in the ad hoc mode which is not defined in the IEEE802.11 standard in detail.

  • Patent number: 7486491
Abstract: A ground detector includes a pair of lines, a first series circuit, a reference portion, a second series circuit, and a detection point. The first series circuit connects the lines to each other. The first series circuit includes first capacitors that are connected in series. The reference portion is connected to a portion of the first series circuit between two of the first capacitors for DC insulating the lines from the reference portion. The second series circuit connects the lines to each other. The second series circuit includes second capacitors that are connected in series. The detecting point is provided in the second series circuit. Each of the lines is connected to the detecting point through at least corresponding one of the second capacitors. The ground detector detects a change of impedance between the lines and the reference portion based on a change of potential of the detecting point with respect to potential of the reference portion.

  • Patent number: 7484862
Abstract: A light source apparatus is disclosed which is capable of emerging predetermined linearly polarized light while a loss of light amount is reduced. The light source apparatus comprises plural light-emitting elements which are disposed so that their light-emitting surfaces face the direction of an emergence surface of the light source apparatus, and a polarization selective element which transmits a light component with a first polarization direction and reflects a light component with a second polarization direction different from the first polarization direction. The apparatus further comprises a reflecting surface which is disposed at a position closer to the light-emitting elements than the polarization selective element and reflects the reflected light from the polarization selective element to the polarization-selective element side.

  • Patent number: 7486932
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for reducing interference in simultaneous wireless LAN (WLAN) and wireless personal area network (PAN) signal handling in mobile wireless terminals having both a WLAN and a PAN interface. The wireless terminal includes a first transceiver operating in the PAN network in a communications band and a first communications protocol transmitting first data units. The wireless terminal also includes a second transceiver operating in the WLAN network in substantially the same communications band and a second communications protocol transmitting second data units. The wireless terminal further includes a controller coupled to the first and second transceivers, assigning a higher transmission priority to the second data units than to the first data units when transmission of the second data units overlaps a first occurring transmission of the first data units, to abort transmission of the first occurring data unit.

  • Patent number: 7484943
Abstract: A screw pump includes a housing and a pair of intermeshing screw rotors. The housing has an inlet port and an outlet port. Each rotor has a first portion whose lead angle decreases. The first portion and the housing form an inlet space and a pump space. Winding angle of the first portion has a first region and a second region. The first region is located in a predetermined range from the end on the first portion adjacent to the inlet port toward the outlet port. The second region is located adjacent to the first region. Reduction rate of the lead angle of the first portion in the first region is set smaller than that in the second region. The maximum lead angle of the first portion is set smaller than a lead angle which decreases at a constant rate in the first region and the second region.

  • Patent number: 7486640
Abstract: A time slicing digital broadcast system includes a dynamic handover process switching a handheld terminal receiving services in a first signal to a second signal providing the same services, while roaming among cells in the digital broadcast system. The terminal takes into account the varying intervals between bursts in the current cell and the target cell. The terminal identifies possible handover signals from a MPE/FEC frame in a data stream. A table in the MPE/FEC frame transmitted once on each transport stream contains the mapping of the real-time handover signaling to the handovers that are possible from signals that are transporting the actual transport stream. The table contains a calculated retune interval specifying the guaranteed interval for the MPE/FEC frame. In another embodiment, the MPE/FEC frame contains MAC addressing bits in the MPE section for real-time parameters in time slicing. The bits may be converted into signaling scenarios for guaranteed handover time.

  • Patent number: 7483073
Abstract: Image sensing apparatus having an image sensing element for sensing an object of shooting is provided. According to one aspect of the invention, when a cleaning mode is designated and executed to remove a foreign substance in the neighborhood of and on the image sensing element, the remaining amount of a battery which supplies electric power to the image sensing apparatus is detected by a voltage detector. If the remaining amount of the battery declines to a first predetermined value or less, a warning is issued by a lamp or a sound production unit. Moreover, if the remaining amount of the battery is the first predetermined value or less, a shift to the cleaning mode is prohibited. Furthermore, if the remaining amount of the battery declines to a second predetermined value or less, which is a lower value than the first predetermined value, mirror-down processing is performed so that cleaning operation cannot be executed.

  • Patent number: 7478909
Abstract: In an ophthalmologic apparatus, the coordinates of three illuminated spots on a cornea-reflected image calculated from a front eye part image picked up by a two-dimension image pickup element and a pupil diameter are calculated, and the position of the centroid of the pupil is calculated from the front eye part image. When the pupil diameter is smaller than a predetermined value, alignment is effected from the shift from the center of the pupil, and when the pupil diameter is larger than the predetermined value, alignment is effected on the basis of the shift amounts from the illuminated spots on the cornea-reflected image. Also, a controlling method is changed over by the difference between the positions of the illuminated spots on the cornea-reflected image and the position of the centroid of the pupil. Also, the tolerance level of alignment is varied by the size of the pupil diameter.
