Patent number: 7486640Abstract: A time slicing digital broadcast system includes a dynamic handover process switching a handheld terminal receiving services in a first signal to a second signal providing the same services, while roaming among cells in the digital broadcast system. The terminal takes into account the varying intervals between bursts in the current cell and the target cell. The terminal identifies possible handover signals from a MPE/FEC frame in a data stream. A table in the MPE/FEC frame transmitted once on each transport stream contains the mapping of the real-time handover signaling to the handovers that are possible from signals that are transporting the actual transport stream. The table contains a calculated retune interval specifying the guaranteed interval for the MPE/FEC frame. In another embodiment, the MPE/FEC frame contains MAC addressing bits in the MPE section for real-time parameters in time slicing. The bits may be converted into signaling scenarios for guaranteed handover time.Type: GrantFiled: October 20, 2004Date of Patent: February 3, 2009Assignee: Nokia CorporationInventors: András Borsos, Dominique Müller

Patent number: 7484943Abstract: A screw pump includes a housing and a pair of intermeshing screw rotors. The housing has an inlet port and an outlet port. Each rotor has a first portion whose lead angle decreases. The first portion and the housing form an inlet space and a pump space. Winding angle of the first portion has a first region and a second region. The first region is located in a predetermined range from the end on the first portion adjacent to the inlet port toward the outlet port. The second region is located adjacent to the first region. Reduction rate of the lead angle of the first portion in the first region is set smaller than that in the second region. The maximum lead angle of the first portion is set smaller than a lead angle which decreases at a constant rate in the first region and the second region.Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 2007Date of Patent: February 3, 2009Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Toyota JidoshokkiInventors: Yuya Izawa, Shinya Yamamoto, Masahiro Inagaki, Makoto Yoshikawa

Patent number: 7483073Abstract: Image sensing apparatus having an image sensing element for sensing an object of shooting is provided. According to one aspect of the invention, when a cleaning mode is designated and executed to remove a foreign substance in the neighborhood of and on the image sensing element, the remaining amount of a battery which supplies electric power to the image sensing apparatus is detected by a voltage detector. If the remaining amount of the battery declines to a first predetermined value or less, a warning is issued by a lamp or a sound production unit. Moreover, if the remaining amount of the battery is the first predetermined value or less, a shift to the cleaning mode is prohibited. Furthermore, if the remaining amount of the battery declines to a second predetermined value or less, which is a lower value than the first predetermined value, mirror-down processing is performed so that cleaning operation cannot be executed.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 2008Date of Patent: January 27, 2009Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Junji Takai

Patent number: 7478909Abstract: In an ophthalmologic apparatus, the coordinates of three illuminated spots on a cornea-reflected image calculated from a front eye part image picked up by a two-dimension image pickup element and a pupil diameter are calculated, and the position of the centroid of the pupil is calculated from the front eye part image. When the pupil diameter is smaller than a predetermined value, alignment is effected from the shift from the center of the pupil, and when the pupil diameter is larger than the predetermined value, alignment is effected on the basis of the shift amounts from the illuminated spots on the cornea-reflected image. Also, a controlling method is changed over by the difference between the positions of the illuminated spots on the cornea-reflected image and the position of the centroid of the pupil. Also, the tolerance level of alignment is varied by the size of the pupil diameter.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2004Date of Patent: January 20, 2009Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Toshifumi Masaki

Patent number: 7475753Abstract: When a determination result of a limitation determining section during a driving of a forklift is positive, a control section limits a vehicle speed and adjusts an engine speed. If a limitation canceling condition is met while the vehicle speed is limited, a control section cancels a vehicle speed limitation state, and executes a loading priority control in which an actuation of a loading device is prioritized. Thus, when a loading device is actuated during driving with a speed limit, the stability of the forklift is ensured while improving the workability of the loading operation.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2006Date of Patent: January 13, 2009Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Toyota JidoshokkiInventors: Hidenori Oka, Tadashi Yamada, Toshikazu Kamiya

Patent number: 7477743Abstract: A hybrid method for a service provider to transmit decryption information (e.g., algorithms, parameters, keys) to clients in a secure manner and at low cost for use in decrypting broadcast services. The service provider uses a bi-directional channel (e.g., a GPRS channel) to receive service requests, authenticate clients and transmit currently valid decryption information (and, optionally, future decryption information) necessary to decrypt a broadcast service. The service provider transmits the encrypted service on a unidirectional channel (e.g., a DVB-T channel). The service provider preferably also changes the encryption of the service with time, and, as it does, transmits updated decryption information to its clients on the unidirectional channel. The updated decryption information is encrypted using the currently valid decryption information and may also include future decryption information and synchronization information.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 2002Date of Patent: January 13, 2009Assignee: Nokia CorporationInventors: Tomi Hakkarainen, Rod Walsh

Patent number: 7477432Abstract: An object of this invention is to provide a structure which meets a high-quality reading requirement and realize high-speed color reading when the reading section of a color image forming apparatus adopts a color contact image sensor using CCDs as reading elements. In order to achieve this object, the image sensor of a color image reading section uses a color contact image sensor in which a plurality of CCDs are aligned as reading elements in the main scanning direction. In this case, each CCD has one analog shift register for RGB time-division reading, and three R, G, and B reading apertures arranged parallel to each other at a pitch corresponding to the reading resolution. The pixel pitch in the main scanning direction is constant.Type: GrantFiled: July 21, 2006Date of Patent: January 13, 2009Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Kenji Hiromatsu
