    Abstract: A fastening device is disclosed for a safety belt in motor vehicles comprising a guiding member to be mounted on the vehicle frame or on some other carrier in the vehicle in such a way that a clearance is created between the guiding member and the carrier and comprising also a runner, to which one end of the safety belt or corresponding organ is attached, and which may be displaced along the guiding member to be positioned in different positions, said positions being determined by a number of holes (9) disposed along the guiding member. The guiding member is a channel-shaped rail (1) with a mid-section (2), which faces said clearance (8) and is provided with said holes (9) and with side flanges (3) projecting perpendicularly from the mid-section.

    Abstract: An improved vehicle suspension system of the double wishbone type including an A-type suspension lower arm which has different strength at different portions thereof suitable for sharing the loads imposed thereon so as to reduce the overall weight thereof. The suspension lower arm, which has a ball-joint mounting portion, is pivotally attached at its front and rear mounting portions to the body of a vehicle for vertical swinging movement and is comprised of a first arm member and a second arm member respectively formed by bending a plate material. The first arm member extends rearwardly from the front mounting portion and the second arm member extends forwardly from the rear mounting portion so that they are superimposed on and secured as by welding to each other at a location near the ball-joint mounting portion. The first and second arm members each have an upper wall and a pair of opposite side walls.

The plastic backing comprises a thin intermediate layer of ethylene acrylic acid co-polymers and a backing layer of Surlyn ionomers. Also disclosed is a process for bonding Surlyn ionomers to stainless steel through use of said intermediate layer.

    Abstract: A V-type engine comprises a cylinder block forming first and second cylinder banks arranged in V-shape. Each cylinder bank is provided with a row of cylinders extending in the axial direction of the crankshaft between the front and rear ends of the engine. The cylinder row in the second cylinder bank starts from a location spaced apart from the front end of the engine and the cylinder row in the first cylinder bank starts from a location near the front end of the engine so that the cylinder row in the second cylinder bank is axially rearwardly displaced from that in the first cylinder bank. A water pump is mounted on the front end of the cylinder block substantially at the center between the first and second cylinder banks. A coolant inlet-passage to the water pump is provided in the part of the cylinder block between the foremost cylinder in the second bank and the front end of the cylinder block, which part is a dead space.

    Abstract: A magic trick for falsely cutting a playing card has first and second sections each with a top layer, a bottom layer, and an intermediate layer, with the top layer of the first section having three windows and the intermediate layer of the second section having an opening corresponding in size to the middle window. The inner sided of the sections are pivoted together so that on folding the two top sides of the sections abut. A lower opening extends between the lower compartments when the body is unfolded and continues out through the outer side of the first section, and an upper opening extends between the upper compartments. A flexible rectangular element is folded half way back on itself with the free edge of the folded portion lying in the upper opening, and with the unfolded lower portion extending through the lower opening iwth the free edge in the opening in the outer side of the first section with card indicia on the exposed upper face of the lower portion.

The stimulating ray optical system is positioned so that the stimulating rays directly impinge upon the dichroic optical plane and come out of a light input face of the light guide member positioned close to the stimulable phosphor by being reflected by or passed through the dichroic optical plane.
