Abstract: A disposable limited reusable bib comprising a sheet of non-woven hydrophobic material having a weight of from 20 grams to 100 grams per square yard and having a plurality of projecting nubbins for simulating a terrycloth appearance for facilitating wiping and food catching.
Abstract: In a liquid laundry detergent composition containing a perborate bleach, hydroxylamine sulfate is added as a bleach stabilizer and specifically as an inhibitor of catalase, an enzyme present in natural body soils, which enzyme will rapidly decompose hydrogen peroxide, the active bleaching component of the perborate bleach. The preferred compositions are non-aqueous liquids based on liquid nonionic surfactants and preferably include a detergent builder salt suspended in the liquid nonionic surfactant.

Abstract: A soil release promoting copolymer of polyethylene terephthalate and polyoxyethylene terephthalate (PET-POET) having a weight average molecular weight in the range of 15,000 to 35,000, and a PET:POET molar ratio of about 2:1 to 6:1, is prepared by reacting polyethylene terephthalate with polyethylene glycol in the presence of a catalyst system including both antimony trioxide and calcium acetate or both titanium isopropoxide and sodium isopropoxide. The PET-POET copolymer provides improved soil release properties for oily and greasy stains from polyester fabrics at high and low wash temperatures and is stable even at high alkalinity levels. The starting PET can advantageously be obtained from scrap bottles.

At least one elastic strip parallel to the longitudinal axis of the head opening is bonded to the sheet while in stretched condition closely proximate the head opening so that, when released, at least partial closure of the head opening is achieved, while causing a curvature of the bib to facilitate placement on the wearer. The head opening closely fits around the neck of the wearer.

Abstract: A stable soil release promoting enzymatic primarily nonionic liquid detergent composition comprises a synthetic organic nonionic detergent, an anionic sulf(on)ated synthetic organic detergent, a particular type of soil release promoting copolymer of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polyoxyethylene terephthalate (POET), a proportion of enzyme(s) sufficient to enzymatically hydrolyze proteinaceous and/or amylaceous soils on fabrics during washing thereof with an aqueous washing solution of the liquid detergent, a fluorescent brightener, a stabilizing proportion of a stabilizer for the enzyme(s), which also acts as a buffer for the liquid detergent composition to maintain the pH in a certain neutral or slightly acidic range to stabilize the PET - POET copolymer and the fluorescent brightener, and an aqueous medium. The described composition is non-separating and is chemically stable on storage.
Abstract: A nonaqueous liquid automatic dishwashing detergent composition with improved rinse properties and method of using the detergent composition. Abstract: The physical stability of liquid gel-like compositions based on montmorillonite, attapulgite, hectorite or other inorganic colloid-forming clay or other thixotropic thickener is greatly improved by incorporating in the composition small amounts, such as 0.1 or 0.2 weight percent, of calcium, magnesium, aluminum or zinc stearate or other polyvalent metal salt of long chain fatty acid. The aqueous compositions containing inorganic builder salts and other functional inorganic salts, chlorine bleach, bleach-stable detergent, thixotropic thickener and polyvalent metal salt of a fatty acid as a physical stabilizer remain stable against phase separation for periods in excess of twelve weeks under a wide range of temperatures. The thixotropic properties can be retained or improved using smaller levels of the clay thixotropic thickener than in the absence of the physical stabilizer. Use as liquid gel-like automatic dishwasher compositions are described.

Abstract: The gelling temperature of liquid nonionic detergents is lowered by 2.degree. C. or more by the addition of aliphatic linear or aliphatic monocyclic dicarboxylic acids such as the C.sub.6 to C.sub.12 alkyl and alkenyl derivatives of succinic acid or maleic acid and the corresponding anhydrides. Non-aqueous heavy duty built liquid laundry detergent compositions which do not gel when added to water at a temperature near freezing are disclosed.
Abstract: Particulate heavy duty detergent compositions, particularly for imparting improved softness and detersive effects to fabrics laundered therewith, include in addition to conventional builder and principally anionic surfactant components, particulate cationic softener of the di-lower-di-higher alkyl quaternary ammonium and/or heterocyclic imide type, e.g. imidazolinium, in admixture with an ethoxylated tertiary amine softener/dispersing agent, such as N-tallow tertiary amine ethoxylated with from about 2 to 15 moles of ethylene oxide. The cationic softener-ethoxylated amine mixture is in the form of a spaghetti, flake, or other shape and is present in the product composition as substantially homogeneously dispersed, discrete particles. A process of laundering fabrics using the above-mentioned composition is also described.
Abstract: This machine is intended for bonding stretched pieces of elastic band to a moving sheet so that these pieces extend transversely relative to the direction of movement of this sheet. The pieces are transferred from a cutting station to a stretching station by means of a transfer station. The stretching station comprises several pairs of grippers distributed around an axis about which they are driven in rotation. The grippers of one and the same pair are arranged axially opposite one another and are designed to be successively moved away from, and close to, one another so that, during their rotation, they grip the lateral ends of the pieces subsequently stretching the latter by moving axially away from one another. Once stretched, the pieces are bonded to the sheet entrained about a drum at the moment when the grippers pass opposite this sheet. The invention is used for the production of a composite sheet intended for providing diapers.
Abstract: A particulate built nonionic synthetic organic detergent composition includes a detersive proportion of a nonionic synthetic organic detergent and a building proportion, in combination, of a polyacetal carboxylate builder for the nonionic detergent and a polyphosphate builder for such nonionic detergent. Such compositions are readily made by adding polyacetal carboxylate builder to the formula of a control detergent composition, with corresponding diminutions of other component(s), and have detersive powers superior to such control despite the decrease in detergent and other builders. Preferably, certain nonionic detergents, polyacetal carboxylate builders and polyphosphate, in certain proportions, are employed for better detergency and physical characteristics, e.g., flowability.
Abstract: A particulate built nonionic synthetic organic detergent composition includes a detersive proportion of a nonionic synthetic organic detergent and a building proportion, in combination, of a polyacetal carboxylate builder for the nonionic detergent and carbonate and bicarbonate builders for such nonionic detergent. Such compositions are readily made by adding polyacetal carboxylate builder to the formula of a control detergent composition, with corresponding diminutions of other component(s), and have detersive powers superior to such control despite the decrease in proportions present of detergent and other builders.
