Abstract: A resistive temperature detector assembly characterized by improved calibration means is generally provided. The assembly includes a primary resistive element, characterized by a temperature coefficient of resistance TCR1, for detecting temperature, and a calibration component characterized by first and second resistive elements, each operatively united with each other, and with the primary resistive element. The first resistive element is configured and/or adapted so as to permit selective passage of current through at least a portion thereof, with the first and second resistive elements characterized by temperature coefficients of resistance TCR1 and TCR2, TCR1 having a value intermediate the value of TCR1 and TCR2.

Abstract: A filter- and sterilizing apparatus comprising a gravity filter device with a liquid supply (L1), a downpipe filter (F) and a clean liquid drainage (L3) as well as a sterilizing device (U) hydraulically connected to the downpipe filter, is characterized in that the sterilizing device connected to the clean liquid circuit (L3) of the downpipe filter (F), is adjustable in height and has the shape of a supply channel to the overflow weir (Y), wherein the liquid level in the supply channel (K) before starting the filtration is approximately adjustable to the same height with the water level in the downpipe filter (F) above the filter medium (M). The sterilizing device (U) is an ultraviolet sluice.

Abstract: A kit characterized by elements for reversible securement to a clothes hangar for mitigating fabric distress upon hanging articles of clothing otherwise hung thereupon is generally provided. In kit format, the elements generally include first and second shoulder landing elements, each shoulder landing element of the first and second shoulder landing elements receivable upon each shoulder member of shoulder members of the clothes hangar, and a formable fold landing element for support upon a horizontal member of the clothes hangar.

Abstract: A stop arrangement for precluding disengagement of a mortise deadbolt lock element by a cam which is employed to extend and retract the element. The arrangement employs first and second stop arms angularly spaced from a cam, which are rotatable, along with the cam, and which engage the lock element to preclude over-rotation.

Abstract: A weapon grip assembly for mating with a weapon without tools is provided. The assembly generally includes a handle, a weapon interface supported by the handle, and an actuator operatively engageable in furtherance of securely affixing the weapon interface to a lower portion of an unaltered handguard of the weapon. The weapon interface generally includes a mount body, and an actuatable locking structure reversibly extendible from the mount body via operative engagement of the actuator.

Abstract: A method of and apparatus for efficiently providing video on demand services to a cable television subscriber. The provider system consists of two major subsystems. The first subsystem, called a video server, streams video to video on demand subscribers through the cable television network. The second subsystem, called the transaction server, performs virtually all remaining provider functions including, security, accounting, storage and spooling of video data, etc. The video server is preferably uses a Unisys CMP memory platform into which the transaction server spools requested video programs. One or more industry standard processors operating under a standard operating system stream the video data from the memory platform to the subscriber.

Abstract: A manual and two pneumatic powered versions of bending apparatus with added indicator apparatus for indicating the bending arm angle, apparatus for rotating and locking the indicator apparatus at the rotated angle and stop means for stopping the bending arm at the rotated angle are provided. After a metal element is bent the bending force is removed, and the bend angle measured to determine if the required bend angle after spring back was obtained.

Abstract: An improved electrical outlet access control accessory mounts in a wall to provide access to and concealment for an outlet mounted in aligned juxtaposition thereto. The accessory has a cover that can be manually rotated between closed and open positions, providing respectively concealment for or access to an outlet within. When closed the cover is flush or nearly so, with the surrounding wall. A retention mechanism holds the cover in the closed position until manually pressed inwards, after which the cover is rotatable to the open position.

The apparatus generally includes opposingly paired sidewalls, a fixed panel traversing the opposingly paired sidewalls, an actuatable panel opposite the fixed panel, and a fuel platform supported by a panel of either of the panels. A portion of the fuel platform is reversibly receivable through a portion of a panel opposite the panel supporting the fuel platform in furtherance of fuel conditioning upon actuation of the actuatable panel.

Abstract: A computer executable method of performing a modal interval operation, and system for performing same is provided. The method includes providing representations of first and second modal interval operands. Each modal interval operand of the operands is delimited by first and second marks of a digital scale, each mark of the marks comprises a bit-pattern. Each bit-pattern of the bit-patterns of the marks of each of the modal interval operands are examined, and conditions of a set of status flags corresponding to each bit-pattern of the bit-patterns of the marks are set. A bit-mask is computed wherein the mask is based upon the set condition of the status flag sets and a presence/absence of an exceptional arithmetic condition, and a presence/absence of an indefinite operand are each represented by a bit of said bits of said bit mask.

The apparatus generally comprises actuatable jaw segments and a base from which the jaw segments extend, a collar within which a portion of the base is seated with the jaw segments operatively engageable with a portion of the collar in furtherance being drawn together upon actuation. Abstract: A non-film based, thermally conditionable light transmitting article is provided. The article includes an adhesively coated resistive wire and a substrate suitably selected for light transmittance. The adhesively coated resistive wire is solely and directly adhesively affixed to the substrate so as to be thereby supported upon and by the substrate. A layer of adhesive, in the form of an adhesive linkage originating from the adhesive of the adhesively coated resistive wire, is present between the resistive wire and the substrate.

Abstract: A mesh panel of the type having a plurality of spaced apart apertures includes an internal frame member substantially in the form of a perforated sheet, and having a plurality of openings therein larger than the apertures. The frame member has substantial internal rigidity. An elastomeric coating encapsulates at least a portion of said frame member. In a preferred embodiment, a bonding coating between the elastomeric coating and the frame member securely bonds to both the elastomeric coating and the frame member. The bonding coating is of the type that is liquid before application to the frame member and is curable by heat or time to a hard plastic. Preferably, the bonding coating is partially cured before the elastomeric coating is applied, after which both coatings are cured by heat. The panel is particularly well suited for use as a sorting screen.

Abstract: Attachment apparatus by which a sifting screen is mounted to a tension rail of a shaker machine. The apparatus includes a portion of the sifting screen wherein a hem at the periphery thereof has a thickness smaller than that of an interior portion of the sifting screen. The hem portion further includes a wire cloth array which is cast in the hem portion. A shroud includes upper and lower segments which are folded back on each other. A hinge edge is thereby defined. Facing surfaces of the upper and lower segments of the shroud sandwich the hem portion of the sifting screen therebetween. Means are provided to inhibit movement of the facing surfaces across engaged surfaces of the hem portion.

Abstract: A weapon grip assembly for attachment to a forward portion of a weapon is provided. The invention includes a base assembly supported for operative engagement by a handle. The base assembly includes clamps adapted to be secured to a forward portion of the weapon and further includes a post having a clamp end adapted to retain the clamps for pivot motion with respect thereto. The post of the base assembly is received within a bore of the handle, a mandrel being interposed between the handle and the clamps of the base assembly. As the base assembly is drawn into the handle, by rotation of the handle about the post of the base assembly, the mandrel receives the clamp end of the post, with an upper free surface thereof engaging the clamps for pivoted closure about a portion of the weapon in furtherance of securing the weapon grip assembly thereto.

Abstract: A system and method which automatically converts COBOL data definitions into view files which allows a user from an Internet terminal to access an On-Line Transaction Processing (OLTP) enterprise server. This conversion permits the Internet user to perform COBOL transactions using the enterprise legacy system.

Abstract: An apparatus for and method of transacting business over a network, such as the Internet. The technique is applicable to a number of e-commerce applications, but the low transaction cost permits its use with microsales involving micropayments of less than one U.S. dollar. An Internet user requests a purchase from a content provider via the user's Internet Service Provider. The Internet service provider records the transaction in a transaction log. The content provider records the transaction in an invoice log. At the end of a billing cycle, a transaction reconciler performs a reconciliation of all transaction logs from all Internet service providers with all invoice logs from all content providers. After correction of any errors found, each Internet service provider is billed by the transaction reconciler for all purchases made by its subscribing users during the purchase period.

Abstract: An aero acoustic fan assembly is provided and generally includes a fan wheel, a frame, and first and second air outlet diffusing structures. The fan wheel generally, and typically includes an axial air inlet delimited by an air inlet cone, an annular air outlet, a back plate, and front plate opposite the back plate. The frame within supports the fan wheel for rotation about a central axis thereof. The first air outlet diffusing structure is supported by a portion of the frame, adjacent the back plate of the fan wheel and includes a peripheral region. The second air outlet diffusing structure is similarly supported by a portion of the frame, adjacent the front plate of the fan wheel, and also includes a peripheral region, air exiting the annular air outlet of the fan wheel passing between the peripheral regions of the diffusing structures.

Abstract: An endourethral device is provided having an elongate member having proximal and distal segments, the elongate member positionable within a lower urinary tract so as to at least partially traverses a prostatic urethra. A proximal anchor, adapted to abuttingly engage portions of a bladder neck so as to at least proximally anchor the device, is supported at least indirectly by the proximal segment of said elongate member. The proximal anchor includes bladder engaging elements radially extending from the proximal segment of said elongate member, urine being freely dischargable about at least the proximal segment so as to substantially bathe the bladder neck therewith.
