  • Patent number: 6034143
Abstract: A foamed styrene resin material has a density .rho. of 0.02 to 0.008 and a melt tension of the styrene resin of 5 to 40 gf. The relation between an average cell diameter d (.mu.m) and the density .rho. is given by the expression: ##EQU1## and a relation between a thermal conductivity .lambda. (kcal/m.multidot.h.multidot..degree. C.) and the density .rho. given by the expression: ##EQU2## Accordingly, the foamed styrene resin material has a low thermal conductivity and excellent insulating property in spite of a low density (high expansion ratio foam) thereof.

  • Patent number: 6029540
Abstract: A flange portion formed on an inner periphery of a flywheel is facet-fitted to an end of a crankshaft. A spline piece is facet-fitted to an inner peripheral surface of the flywheel. The flange portion of the flywheel and a flange portion of the spline piece are commonly fastened to the end of the crankshaft by bolts. An upper end of a driving shaft is spline-fitted at a point into a driving shaft coupled portion of the spline piece which is accommodated in an internal hole in the crankshaft. Thus, in coaxially coupling the flywheel and the driving shaft to the end of the crankshaft, it is possible to make such a coupled area compact and to reduce vibration by an accurate centering thereof.

  • Patent number: 6029641
Abstract: An air-fuel ratio control system for an internal combustion engine includes an air-fuel ratio sensor arranged in the exhaust system of the engine. An ECU determines activation of the air-fuel ratio sensor and carries out feedback control of the air-fuel ratio of a mixture supplied to the engine in response to the output from the air-fuel ratio sensor. An intermediate state of the air-fuel ratio sensor corresponding to a transient state of the air-fuel ratio sensor from an inactive state thereof to an active state thereof is determined. The output from the air-fuel ratio sensor for use in execution of the feedback control is corrected when the air-fuel ratio sensor is in the intermediate state.

  • Patent number: 6027425
Abstract: A system for controlling motive force of a vehicle having an engine and a continuously variable automatic transmission connected to the engine to transmit engine torque to a drive shaft of the vehicle. In the system, a desired motive force is calculated or determined from the detected accelerator (pedal) position and vehicle speed, and based on the determined motive force a desired engine speed, more specifically a drive shaft speed of the transmission, is calculated or determined. Then inertia torque acting on the vehicle is calculated or determined based on at least the determined speed and detected speed, and a desired throttle opening is corrected by the determined inertia torque when the vehicle accelerates or decelerates. With the arrangement, the vehicle response delay due to the inertia torque is adjusted and hence, drivability and fuel economy performance are enhanced.
