  • Patent number: 8342719
Abstract: In an LED light bulb, an LED module and a lens are disposed on a fixing stage provided to a housing. The lens has a concave portion at its top end. The concave portion forms a reflecting surface which reflects part of outgoing light from the LED module to (i) first directions perpendicular to a front emission direction of the outgoing light or (ii) second directions leaning to a cap beyond the first directions. Due to diffusion effect of an optical cover, part of the light reflected by the lens is emitted backward (toward the cap). This realizes an LED light bulb that distributes light over an entire circumference and has high output as well as high light output ratio.

  • Patent number: 8344173
Abstract: A cyclotriphosphazene represented by Formula 1 prepared by introducing a dendritic tetrapeptide and a hydrophilic polyethylene glycol into a cyclotriphosphazene ring, a method of preparing the same, and a drug carrier including the cyclotriphosphazene of Formula 1. The compound according to the present invention may form a strong molecular hydrogel in a very low concentration of 2 w/w % or less. Furthermore, the hydrogel prepared using the compound of Formula 1 exhibits biodegradability, thermosensitivity at around body temperature, biocompatibility with protein drugs, and an easy way to prepare along with a sustained release property without any burst effect in the early stage of release. Therefore, the present cyclotriphosphazene molecular hydrogel may be efficiently used as a drug carrier for a sustained release of a drug, particularly, a protein drug.

  • Patent number: 8347009
Abstract: A certain ECU transmits a reference message for requiring the other ECUs to transmit data. After transmission of the reference message, each of all the ECUs transmits priority information of its transmit message onto a communication bus, and then detects whether some priority information transmitted from the other ECUs has a higher priority than its own transmitted priority information. If there is detected no priority information of a higher priority than its own transmitted priority information, it transmits a message associated therewith, and then is prohibited to transmit data of the same priority until receiving a next reference message.

  • Patent number: 8337284
Abstract: A touch panel 13 is mounted on a second LCD 12. If the player touch-operates the touch panel 13 so as to touch on an offense button OB, the symbolized representation of any offense athlete among a plurality of player objects composing the player's team becomes relatively large. Thus, in a game where the action or settings of a game object image is changed by touch-operating the game object image, the image of a game object that is highly frequently operated in situations similar to the current situation is enlarged, thereby facilitating touch-operation.

  • Patent number: 8339104
Abstract: A battery system for a vehicle warms up a battery, which is mounted to charge and discharge. A charge/discharge unit is located closer to a battery set than an inverter unit is. When the battery set cannot produce a required output power because of its low temperature, a control unit controls the charge/discharge unit to charge and discharge and also controls a blower to deliver heat transfer medium, which receives heat generated from the charge/discharge unit, to the battery set, so that the battery set is warmed up to produce the required output power at earlier time.

  • Patent number: 8339409
Abstract: A tile-based graphics system, and method of operation of such a system, are provided for generating graphics data for a frame comprising a plurality of tiles. Graphics processing circuitry is provided which is arranged to be switched between a first mode of operation and a second mode of operation. In the first mode of operation, the graphics processing circuitry receives the plurality of graphics primitives for the frame, and performs a binning operation to determine, for each of the plurality of tiles, a tile list identifying the graphics primitives which intersect that tile. In the second mode of operation, the graphics processing circuitry receives the tile list for an allocated tile, and performs a rasterization operation to generate the graphics data for the allocated tile dependent on the tile list.

  • Patent number: 8337308
Abstract: A game system includes a game device, and a hand-held device having a predetermined input surface. The hand-held device transmits operation data which includes touch data representing a player input position on the predetermined input surface and movement data whose value changes in accordance with movement of the hand-held device. The game device controls an attitude of a control surface placed in a three-dimensional game space based on the movement data. The game device calculates a control direction in the game space based on the attitude of the control surface and the touch data, and performs a game process based on the control direction. The first game image representing the game space is output to and displayed on a display device which is separate from the hand-held device.

  • Patent number: 8337802
Abstract: The method for concentrating an oxygen isotope or isotopes of the present invention combines the step of concentrating 17O and/or the step of depleting 18O that utilizes photodissociation of ozone by a laser beam with an oxygen distillation step that concentrates the oxygen isotope. At this time, it is preferable to carry out a step of isotope scrambling in addition to the above. When both a step of concentrating 17O and a step of depleting 18O are carried out, whichever thereof may be done first prior to the other. Also these steps may be placed either before or after the oxygen distillation step. Moreover, at least one of said oxygen distillation step, the concentrating 17O step, the depleting 18O step and the isotope scrambling step is preferably carried out twice or more.
