  • Patent number: 5740933
Abstract: A tamper indicating, child proof, container cap designed for easy manipulation by arthritic fingers of a user includes an annular tear strip and a rotatably indexing latch finger on the cap which engages a raised annular retainer ridge with bypass opening on the neck of the container. A tactile indicator of the rotational location of the bypass opening is under the tear strip for sensing by the user's finger that is in simultaneous contact with the cap when the tear strip is removed. A lower ridge includes an index key for orienting the latch finger away from the bypass opening during assembly of the system. The top of the cap includes an extended axial length portion that is shaped for easy grip by arthritic fingers.

  • Patent number: 5738239
Abstract: A waste container contains at the bottom, a panel fastened on a base forming between them a tube having one end blocked and the other end open. A slot in the panel extends the length of the tube and has an open end beyond the open end of the tube. Finger grips in the panel beyond the open end of the tube enable one to tilt up the open end of the slot for simultaneously loading a roll of liner bags in the tube and one bag from the roll in the slot by the open ends of the tube and slot.

  • Patent number: 5632427
Abstract: A fishing rod and reel holder having a body which includes a cylinder having openings at both ends of the cylinder for receiving rod handles. A J-shaped slot in the cylinder accepts a reel mount. An elastic tensile member, such as a shock cord, biases the reel mount against the tip of the curl of the J, thereby securing the rod and reel within the cylinder. A recess, approximately coaxial with the cylinder, and distal from the cylinder, supports the rod's shaft towards the front of the holder. Suction cups mount the body securely to a surface, such as a car top.

  • Patent number: 5624301
Abstract: The invention covers a method and a mechanism for the simultaneous machining of profile sections of one and the same work piece by two grinding wheels. Acc. to the method first the finish-grinding positions of the two grinding wheels (4.1 and 4.2) are calculated. After moving the two grinding wheels (4.1 and 4.2) into these positions these two grinding wheels (4.1 and 4.2) are profiled by the dressing tool (1) to generate a surface/roughness suitable for rough-grinding. Then the two grinding wheels (4.1 and 4.2) are moved into the calculated rough-grinding positions and then this operation takes place. Then the two grinding wheels (4.1 and 4.2) are moved into the finish-grinding positions followed by dressing to generate the surface/roughness for finish grinding. Acc. to the mechanism the grinding slides (14.1 and 14.2) are arranged in such a way that the two grinding wheels (4.1 and 4.2) have a common axis of rotation (15).

  • Patent number: 5623148
Abstract: The invention which relates to a device for the generating of electron beams with a vacuum chamber, in which a massive cathode (10) is arranged with a wire cathode (14) arranged above and a aperture anode (17) below the massive cathode (10) and whom below the aperture anode (17) focusing and/or deflecting magnet arrangements are provided which direct an electron beam (23) emitted by the massive cathode (10) and accelerated by the aperture anode (17) to a processing location (22), has the basic task to make the power of such devices variable over a large range using simple mechanical means. According to the invention the task is solved by arranging the aperture anode (17) rigidly and the massive cathode (10) and the wire cathode (14) axially movable within the vacuum chamber (1). For the movements of the massive cathode (10) and the wire cathode (14) contact means are provided which follow their movements and lead to the outside of the vacuum chamber (1).

  • Patent number: 5611567
Abstract: A non-explosive pyrotechnic linear release device is comprised of a body within which, at a proximal end, a pyrotechnic, comprised of a compressed gasless ignition powder, is contained behind a support ram which extends forward from the distal end of the body to support the sealed exit end of a pressure container which has been charged with a fluid, preferably air. The compressed pyrotechnic provides a psi pressure against the proximal end of the support ram greater than the psi pressure of the fluid against the sealed exit end of the pressure container. When the pyrotechnic is ignited by signal from an impact detecting element in the automobile during a crash, the pressure provided by the compacted pyrotechnic is dissipated, the support ram is then pushed proximally by the pressure from the pressure container and the exit end of the pressure container becomes unsealed and releases the fluid under pressure to the air bag or bags provided in the automobile.

  • Patent number: 5588598
Abstract: An improved method of recovering recyclable materials from commingled recyclables is described as well as apparatuses for doing same. Ferrous materials recovery is achieved using the unique combination of a magnetic belt and a vibratory conveyor. Other materials are then separated with a light/heavy separator which uses finger screen, air knife, and vibratory means to separate glass from plastics and aluminum prior to conventional handsorting operations. Excess glass unsuitable for recovery is introduced into a trommel processing loop wherein contaminates are removed and the glass reduced to a particulate useful in the production of glasphalt and aggregate. Air emanating from the air knife is filtered in an improved gravity separator for reintroduction to the light/heavy separator.

  • Patent number: 5585691
Abstract: A dynamic color separation display CRT having an electron beam forming structure for beam generation and electrostatic impingement control. The electron gun forms a group of electron beams and includes a multi-aperture G1 grid for receiving the electron beam group. The group of electron beams overlap and combine to provide an impingement pattern that matches a primary color stripe without use of a shadow mask when focused on the output screen surface. An alternate preferred embodiment includes a grooved cathode to control the size, shape, and profile of the emitted beam.

  • Patent number: 5567151
Abstract: This invention discloses a furnace in which hot gases are discharged from heaters to provide uniform heating to printed circuit boards commonly used in the electronic industry. Outside air is prevented from flowing into the furnace, so as to reduce and to stabilize the concentration of oxygen. The furnace 1 is designed with an air tunnel 2 to separate it into upper and lower sections which are fitted with hot air blow type heaters 5a, 5b. The hot air discharged from the heaters in the upper and lower sections flow in opposite directions to create a counter-flow of gases. Each individual heater can produce its own hot air circuit. They are designed with the blowing outlet and suction inlet in the same structure with the blowing outlet fitted with a redirectional flow plate 18 which directs the hot air to the suction inlet.

  • Patent number: 5555752
Abstract: A key actuated lock is mounted within a protective enclosure which has a double hinged panel cover that projects into a slot between the bottom panel of the protective enclosure and the bottom of the lock mounted within the protective enclosure when the double hinged panel cover is closed. Both the protective enclosure and the double hinged panel cover have apertures that align when the double hinged panel cover is closed. Actuation of the lock within the protective enclosure moves a locking bolt from a unlocked retracted position to a locked extended position that projects the locking bolt through the two aligned apertures, thereby holding the double hinged panel cover closed.

  • Patent number: 5505334
Abstract: A storage rod for temporarily supporting liners for a container is mounted by one end of the rod to the bottom side of a wall having a slot for passing the liners through the wall from the bottom side to the top side of the wall. The attachment to the wall supports the rod with the other end of the rod unsupported for receiving the liners. The end of the rod receiving the liners is unobstructed, for access to the rod coaxially with the rod by a roll of liners for sliding them on the rod. A handle is at one end of the slot and generally normal to the slot to avoid uncontrolled twist of an operator's fingers when handling the assembly.
