Abstract: A pyrotechnic device drives a ram to a stop. The ram cuts off the neck of a gas bottle which is received in an area below the ram stop. The ram is disposed over the open neck of the gas bottle and may provide gas channels through the ram or around the ram to selected outlets.
Abstract: A pool skimming device is stably secured to the peripheral structure of a pool so that the hoop and net are situated in the path of the water surface current caused by the water input of a pool's circulation system.
Abstract: A stringed instrument system comprising a body having a headward edge, a tailward edge, an upper edge, a lower edge, a front and a back. A first fingerboard extends beyond the headward edge of the body and a second fingerboard is located entirely on the body. The first fingerboard includes a fretted surface. A track runs beneath each fingerboard edge. The capo has an axis of rotation eccentrically located within the capo. A slider attached to the capo reacts against the track surface and pulls the capo hard against the fretted surface when the capo has been cammed against the fingerboard. The cam capo may have a plurality of independently rotatable sections. The independently rotatable sections allow either some or all of the guitar strings to be capoed. The fingerboards may be removably secured to the body so that they are interchangeable.
Abstract: A quadrangular type multi-tube once-through boiler having an arrangement in which a feed path combuation air, combuation chamber, and an exhaust gas channel passing through a flue are alined in substantially the same plane, and provided with a burner duct (5) and a blower (4) each installed in any desired regions in lateral wall portions (s.sub.1, s.sub.2, s.sub.3 and s.sub.4) defining the width of the boiler body (1). The boiler body (1) comprises an assembly (A) of a plurality of substantially vertically disposed water tubes (10), so that combuation gas flows crosswise of the water tubes (10). A burner (3) is disposed in close adjacency to the first row (1.sub.1) of water tubes the water tube assembly (A), whereby even if fuel from the burner is ignited in a space between the first row (1.sub.1) of water tubes and the burner (3), actual combuation does not proceed to completion therebetween but the most of the unburnt gas burns completely while it flows through water tube clearances.

Abstract: A shelf display dispenser for packaged merchandise in which there are a plurality of display unit suitable for placement on a flat surface, each comprising an elongated base, a longitudinal slot formed in the base suitable to guide a pusher mechanism, an upstanding divider wall on one side only of the base, coupling elements at the outwardly facing side of the divider wall and coupling elements on the longitudinal edge of the base opposite the wall, the second-mentioned coupling elements being positioned and formed to mate with coupling elements on the outwardly facing side of a divider wall of an adjacent unit, whereby the plurality of units may be matingly interlocked by the first and second-mentioned coupling elements in side-by-side parallel alignment for placement on a surface.
Abstract: A system for measuring components of an ambient fluid such as air. A syringe includes an intake fitting which provides sealed fluid coupling to a chromatographic intake tube. The syringe includes exhaust ports near the intake end of the syringe. The ports exhaust fluid in the cylinder directly into the atmosphere without passing the exhaust fluid through the indicator tube. The exhaust ports are shaped and located to be sealed by the thumb and forefinger of an operator's hand. In operation, the operator covers the exhaust ports on the syringe with his fingers. He then pulls the plunger to draw fluid into the syringe. He then withdraws his fingers to open the vent holes and expells fluid through the vent holes by depressing the plunger. These steps are repeated until a preselected volume of fluid has been drawn syringe-ward through the analysis tube. The tube is then observed.
Abstract: A method of dispensing scaling inhibitors into a flow of low pressure water by modifying the use of available air lubricators. Mechanical modifications to an air lubricator results in an apparatus capable of dispensing a scaling inhibitor into a water flow of only 0.24 liters per minute.
Abstract: A carrier moldable from plastic, aluminum, paper mache and the like for collecting and transporting empty containers such as soda bottles or cans.
Abstract: Heat control for an animal body is provided by way of micro-climate conditioning clothing incorporating an inner first layer of spacer mesh material. A second layer of impermeable material is in contact with the first layer and has perforations therethrough. A third layer of spacer mesh material is provided as well as a fourth outer layer of impermeable material which is fastened along its edges to the second layer. An inlet/outlet port for a gaseous fluid is provided.

Abstract: A central vacuum system for workspaces such as auto body or wood shops. A vacuum generating unit is rotatably mounted at a level above the heads of the shop workers and integrated with a rigid boom having a flexible vacuum hose at its distal end such that the boom may be swung in an arc parallel to the floor space and thereby give access to the vacuum over a wide area. In a preferred embodiment, the boom is hinged at its center so as to facilitate access to the vacuum within the radius of the arc.
Abstract: An anchor assembly for retaining an elongated fastener member within an opening defined by a support wall having at least one concealed side. At least two elongated wire-like legs are positioned in parallel relation and a threaded apertured anchor member is slidably movable along the wire-like leg members and adapted to assume a first position parallel to the legs when the legs are in a first orientation and a second position generally perpendicular to the legs when the position of the legs is rotated to a second position. A connecting member in the form of a collar is attached to the proximal ends of the legs and is configured and dimensioned for positioning within the opening of the support member.

At least two elongated wire-like legs are positioned in parallel relation and a threaded apertured anchor member is slidably movable along the wire-like leg members and adapted to assume a first position parallel to the legs and to pivot toward a second position generally perpendicular to the legs when the anchor is advanced distally or when the leg members are withdrawn proximally to cause engagement therebetween. A connecting member in the form of a collar is positioned at the proximal ends of the legs and is configured and dimensioned for positioning within the opening of the support wall.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for surgical correction of malformations of digits of a foot. Part of the joint is removed to expose bone ends. The bone ends are spaced apart from each other at a distance greater than would be suitable for knitting of said bone ends to each other with bone tissue. Holes are bored in each of the bone ends. An implant, including shafts and a central spacer, is inserted into each of the holes in the bones. This implant consists entirely of absorbable material. The implant is left permanently in place to be completely absorbed as it is replaced by fibrous scar tissue. This tissue forms an effective joint replacement.
Abstract: A method of forming a rigid composite varishaped product by knitting an integral fabric piece in the desired shape and impregnating the knitted piece with a selected settable impregnate which is then set; the products made from the method including the intermediate knitted products and the process for making the intermediate product and the knitting program for directing the needles of the knitting machine on which the intermediate product is made.

Abstract: A fastening device of the type having a stem, toggle arms at the opposite end of the stem, extending outwardly from an extended axis of the stem, a toggle hinge forming a part of the toggle arms and connecting the toggle arms to the stem and elastically biasing the toggle arms in the extended position. The toggle arms are pivotable about the toggle hinge to a closed position extending substantially parallel with the extended axis of the stem. A strap extends across the extended axis of the stem between the extremities of the toggle arms to maintain the toggle arms in the extended position. The extremities of the strap and the toggle arms are connected and a mid-hinge is formed centrally of the strap at the extended axis of the stem so that the portions of the strap on either side of the mid-hinge may pivot about the hinge to move the toggle arms and strap portions to the closed position.
