  • Patent number: 8118197
Abstract: Metal discs, preferably circular, are cut to a precise diameter and drawn to a preform with a channel and skirt for an aerosol valve mounting cup. The preform then undergoes further forming operations at stations in a press system. “Bumping” is carried out on the skirt edge at a station, to eliminate non-burr trimming of the cup edge, save material and obtain a carefully controlled skirt height and a substantially even skirt edge with minimized earring. The resultant cup terminating skirt edge is characterized by reformed metal. A further coaxing or pinch-cut operation may be performed on the cup skirt.

  • Patent number: 8113087
Abstract: A bicycle bar grip, particularly for touring bikes, mountain bikes and the like, comprising a sleeve for being slipped onto a bike handlebar. A grip element is joined to the sleeve and extends over a portion of the length of the sleeve. The sleeve also comprises a clamping area and a sleeve slot. A holding bar end extension is arranged in the clamping area via a clamp. The grip element has a supporting portion, which is provided for supporting a palm of the hand and which preferably transitions into a holding portion. The supporting portion ensures that a cyclist, when changing his/her grip from the grip element to the holding bar end extension or vice versa, can be supported on the supporting portion for turning the palm of the hand. This ensures that the cyclist, also when changing his/her grip, does not lose contact with the inventive bicycle handlebar grip and a sure hold by the cyclist is ensured.

  • Patent number: 8113231
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a water level controlling device for intercepting the supply of water to the water reservoir of a water purification system. The water level controlling device includes a water reservoir having a plurality of diaphragms which are provided on the lower surface of the water reservoir in such a way as to move up and down. A flow body is mounted to the lower surface of the water reservoir and defines a water circulation path, with a plurality of control parts provided in the circulation path to block the flow of water by the corresponding diaphragms. A plurality of floaters moves up and down in the water reservoir according to the water level. An actuator moves each of the diaphragms to the corresponding control part as each of the floaters rises, thus intercepting the flow of water passing through the control part.

  • Patent number: 8108852
Abstract: A procedure is provided to implement modifications to a running object-oriented program, in particular a program for controlling an automation facility. The program is stored temporarily in a memory in the form of an intermediate code which can be converted into executable machine code in runtime. The method includes the steps of providing a modified program or a modified program module, also in the form of an intermediate code, and comparing the intermediate code of the modified program or that of the modified program module with the intermediate code of the running program for determining the modifications, and implementing modifications to the running program. A correspondingly adapted run-time system is also provided, which is suitable for implementing the procedure as well as the integration of this run-time system into an automation facility.

  • Patent number: 8106823
Abstract: A receiver operating with satellite navigation signals estimates its position by means of a multiplicity of signals each transmitted by another satellite. A subset of satellites is used to calculate the position estimation and checking the pseudoranges of all received satellite signals that did not contribute to this particular estimate with respect to their consensus with this estimate. The subset with the best consensus is determined by combining the subsets with respect to the consensus with all ranging sources in view. Consensus in this context refers to pseudoranges that coincide in a position solution in a consistent way. The satellites with a bias in pseudorange higher than a threshold are identified as faulty satellites, after knowing all consistent satellites. This identifying information is then used to exclude the faulty satellites for the determination of position, velocity, and time in the receiver.

Abstract: A ceramic ballistic material and method of manufacture is disclosed. A filler material is provided. The filler material is divided into filler granules collectively having a median diameter approximately 10 microns or less. An amount of carbon is provided. The carbon is divided into carbon particles and the carbon particles are allowed to coat the filler granules. The mixture of carbon-coated filler granules is formed into a ballistic armor shape. The formed mixture is placed in a substantial vacuum. The mixture is introduced to a pre-selected amount of silicon and the mixture of carbon-coated filler granules and silicon is heated to a temperature at or above the melting point of the silicon.

  • Patent number: 8098819
Abstract: In the method for data archiving with automatic en- and decryption data (9, 10) are exchanged between a client station (1) and an archive station (4). A securing means (2) connected between the stations (1, 4) encrypts the plain data (9) which are transmitted towards the archive station (4) and decrypts the encrypted data (10) which are transmitted towards the client station (1). The encryption is carried out with at least two keys (6, 7). One of the two keys (6, 7) is swapped out by transmitting it to the archive station (4) and deleting it locally, i.e. in the securing means (2), after the encryption. If the securing station (2) is stolen, the encrypted data (10) on the archive station (4) can be accessed, however their decryption can be prevented in a simple, reliably and comprehensible manner by deleting the swapped out key (7) in the archive station (4).

  • Patent number: 8091325
Abstract: A diaphragm positioned in a waste disposal device for holding and twisting flexible tubing dispensed form a cartridge housed in the waste disposal device. The twisting of the tubing is accomplished either by rotating the diaphragm and holding the cartridge stationary, or rotating the cartridge and holding the diaphragm. A rotation mechanism is operatively configured to the waste disposal device for rotating either the cartridge or the diaphragm while impeding the rotation of the other. The twisting of the flexible sealably encapsulates a waste package inserted into the flexible tubing through an opening in the cartridge.
