  • Patent number: 6701804
Abstract: In a power switching apparatus which switches a power transmitting state from a drive member to left and right two driven members, a circumferential connection surface of the drive member and each of circumferential connection surfaces in both of the driven members are wedge connected according to an interposition of rolling elements by moving cages in an axial direction based on a centrifugal force of a switching means. The power switching apparatus also brings end surfaces of the cages into frictional contact with the driven members so as to rotate together therewith.

  • Patent number: 6688444
Abstract: In a power switching apparatus which moves cages respectively corresponding to left and right two driven members in an axial direction, end surfaces of the respective cages are brought into frictional contact with the driven members so as to rotate together therewith, and a wedge connection occurs in a circumferential connection surface of a drive member to each of circumferential connection surfaces in both of the driven members according to an interposition of rolling elements, at a time of switching a power transmitting state from the drive member to both of the driven members. A spacer which is coaxially arranged with the driven members is provided between both of the driven members, and both of the cages are coaxially supported by an outer periphery of the spacer.

  • Patent number: 6667623
Abstract: A light emitting diode (LED) signal with an LED light output monitoring sensor. If the LED light output drops below a pre-set level, an output signal of the sensor via a comparator and deactivation circuit, deactivates one or more LEDs creating a visible fault display aspect, thereby visually indicating signal failure but allowing a continued use of the signal prior to replacement.

  • Patent number: 6644841
Abstract: A reflector for use with light emitting devices. Multiple reflective surfaces redirect light emission components of the light emitting device, for example a light emitting diode, into a desired direction. The different light emission components including a total internal reflection light emission component. Paired light emitting devices share common reflector surfaces creating an oval light pattern. Holes in the reflector accommodate electrical components and enhance heat dissipation. A deflector pattern on non-reflector surfaces minimizes sun phantom effect when the reflector is used, for example, in a traffic signal.

  • Patent number: 6642666
Abstract: A railway searchlight signal uses a printed circuit board populated by three arrays (green, red and yellow) of LEDs. The LEDs are lit by a standard color light power supply unit (PSU). As only one array of LEDs is lit at a time, an interface between the PSU and the LEDs is provided to select which LED array to couple with the PSU. External repeater contacts provide information on which aspect is displayed. This searchlight system design is failsafe in that no single failure of a component will produce a less restrictive aspect.
