Abstract: A method for repairing concrete structural elements reinforced with steel rebar includes steps of: removal of debris and rust; attachment of expanded mesh zinc metal for sacrificial passive corrosion protection; and overwrapping with flexible panels of fiber-reinforced polymer composite material.
Abstract: Repair jacket is adapted for repairing or reinforcing elongate structures such as pilings, especially in marine environments. Jacket includes a cylindrical body of fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) material that is about 0.5 to 3.5 inches greater in diameter than the piling. The body is wrapped around the piling and sealed. Centering/damping springs keep the body centered on the piling and damp the blows of waves so the body is not damaged. A bottom seal is a resilient tube within an abrasion-resistant tube attached to the bottom of the body for sealing the gap. The resilient tube is filled with expanding grout to create a rigid seal at the bottom of the gap. The gap volume between piling and cylindrical body is then filled with grout to permanently attach repair jacket to piling and repair the surface of the piling.

Abstract: A boring tool for use in a tool holder, such as a boring head, that is driven about a drive axis and includes a pair of parallel bores for mounting boring tools generally includes a body including a cutting edge and a pair of mounting shanks for mounting in the bores of the tool holder. Preferably, the mounting shanks can be mounted in either bore and the cutting edge is disposed on the body so as to be different distances from the driven axis depending upon in which bores the mounting shanks are mounted.
Abstract: A golf club head includes a transparent cylinder with a sight on top and target on the bottom for indicating to the golfer when the club head is level and on line. An exemplary sight includes a centered disk surrounded by concentric rings; some rings being transparent. The target includes a larger central disk sounded by concentric rings of contrasting color or pattern. At the preferred club orientation, the center of the sight is vertically aligned with the center of the target and the vertical sight picture includes at least four concentric colored or patterned rings. In a second embodiment, the sight and target each include a swing stripe in the swing direction. The relative location of the sight and target centers and swing stripes show the golfer the position of the club head relative to the ball and aid in swing smoothness.

Abstract: Anchor 10 for reinforcing a structure against displacement forces and a method of installation includes drilling a borehole 50 in an anchor medium 110 adjacent the structure A length of roving 21 composed of filaments 24 is doubled and pushed into borehole 50 with free end 23 of roving 21 protruding. Backfill grout 41 or resin 42 is pumped or poured into bore hole 50 to embed roving 21 Filaments 24 of free end 23 are spread apart and attached to the structure by adhesive.
Abstract: A device 10 for spraying dry flakes 12 including: an enclosure 22 including a lower portion 26 for holding a supply 12A of dry flakes 12 and an upper portion 27; a gas flow conduit 50 including: a receiving portion 52 adapted for connection to a pressurized gas source, and a nozzle 60; a flake conduit 40 connecting enclosure 22 with nozzle 60; and air holes 36 in enclosure 22. Flake conduit 40 includes a valve 44. A flow valve 76, operable by the user, regulates the flow of pressurized gas from a pressurized gas source through gas flow conduit 50. Receiving portion 52 includes pressure regulating valve 77 for regulating the pressure of gas from the pressurized gas source at a given gas flow rate and a pressure indicator 78 for indicating pressure of gas flowing through receiving portion 50.
Abstract: Union nut (10) includes body (20) and lock member (50). Body (20) includes thread retaining end (30) with threads (33) for mounting upon a threaded pipe (120) and flange retaining end (40) including partial collar (41) for partially retaining a flanged pipe (140). Lock member (50) slidably engages with body (20) to fully retain and support pipe flange (143).
Abstract: Described herein is an apparatus for providing light to a structure consisting of a plurality of fibers, each said optical fiber having an emitting end and a receiving end, the emitting ends of the optical fibers for mounting in the plurality of apertures in the structure. The receiving ends of the optical fibers span to an enclosure for receiving a control circuit and a plurality of LEDs. The control circuit generates an oscillating sequence of signals for controlling the intensity of illumination of at least one of the LED's between at least two levels of illumination.
Abstract: A foundation system 50 for supporting a support beam 80 of a manufactured home and for preventing longitudinal movement of the beam; beam 80 having a longitudinal axis defining the longitudinal direction. Ground support pan 52 including blades 57 for insertion in the ground for preventing horizontal movement and a bracket 61 pivotably connecting lower ends 73 of a pair of rigid arms 70 substantially to the longitudinal middle 59 of pan 53 such that arms 70 form a V. Each upper end 76 of arms 70 is pivotably attached to a clamp 10 clamped to beam 80 such that the clamp 10 cannot move along beam 80.

Abstract: A protective cover for a column base connector having a lower portion set in a body of concrete and an upper portion in the form of spaced-apart, upstanding, first and second flanges extending upwardly from an upper surface of the body of concrete, each one of the first and second flanges defining a respective one of first and second flange bolt holes for use in bolting a column to the column base connector. The protective cover takes the form of an inverted pot having a lower edge and a size such that the inverted pot fits over the upper portion of the column base connector with the lower edge atop an upper surface of the body of concrete. The inverted pot includes a first side that defines a first cover bolt hole disposed in a position to align with the first flange bolt hole, and a second side of the inverted pot opposite the first side that defines a second cover bolt hole disposed in a position to align with the second flange bolt hole.
Abstract: A dental articulator for connecting first and second dental models generally includes upper and lower arms hinging at their rear ends by a hinge. Each arm front end is connected by a coupling to a dental model. Each coupling generally includes a ball, a coupling, a rear socket and a fastener joining the coupling and rear socket such that the socket is movable rotationally, up and down, and side to side on the ball to a selected position. The hinge also provides for movements of the arms mimicking those of a human jaw. The lower arm means for adjusting the height of the hinge. Upper and lower dental models each include a holder of an incisor spacing assembly co-cast into the base. The holders hold an incisor pin for adjusting the vertical spacing between the fronts of the dental models.
Abstract: A soft, flexible, solar pool heater for floating on water generally comprises independently inflatable outer ring and central portion. When chamber and cavity are inflated, the cavity is with the top and bottom planes of the ring. The ring can be inflated with water for holding the heater in a pool in winds. Holes through the central portion permit egress of air from under the central portion when the heater is placed on water. Valves for chamber and cavity are located near one edge such that the heater may be deflated by rolling from an edge opposite the valves. Magnets on the ring condition water and attach to similar floating heaters to form rafts.
Abstract: A spinner for attachment to the hub of a spoked bicycle wheel generally comprises a body assembly and a contact for contacting a spoke for spinning the spinner about the hub. The body assembly comprises a bearing portion comprised of a plurality of individual bearing arc sections adapted for insertion between the spokes of the wheel and joined around the hub and radial display surfaces, either integral with the arc sections or attached to the bearing portion. The display surface may include an attachable radially outer portion of different wheel sizes and configurations.
Abstract: A dental articulator for connecting upper and lower dental models made from dental impressions of teeth and for moving the mandible in opening and closing, protrusive and lateral motions generally comprises upper and lower arms each having a front end for attachment respectively to upper or lower model. The upper arm includes a pair of condylar slots for receiving journals of the lower arm such that the lower arm may perform the opening and closing motion, the protrusive movement, and lateral movement of the mandible. A cantilever spring attached to the upper arm biases the journals toward the centric occlusion position. Slot stops limit protrusive movement and axle stops limit lateral movement.
