  • Patent number: 4931340
Abstract: A honeycomb panel structure for thermal and acoustic insulation and for load bearing capability has a honeycomb panel which comprises a honeycomb core laminated with two facing plates, and a pair of housings. Each housing has a channel to engage and support a edge of the honeycomb panel. A first neutral axis passes through the center of gravity of the honeycomb panel and extends in the direction of the panel. A second neutral axis passes through the centers of gravity of the housings and extends parallel to the first neutral axis. The first and second neutral axes are spaced apart in a vertical direction so that the structure has much higher flexural rigidity.

  • Patent number: 4912322
Abstract: An optical type displacement detecting device including a main scale and an index scale, wherein a pitch of a first optical grating formed on the main scale is set at P and a pitch of a second optical grating formed on the index scale is set at P/n, thereby producing divided detection signal having pitch P/n. Furthermore, the pitch of the second optical grating is set at (u+v) P/u or (u+v) P/(2u) (u is a gap between a diffusive light source and the first optical grating and v is a gap between the first and second optical gratings), so that a collimator lens can be dispensed with. Further, higher harmonic components of the first optical grating are utilized, whereby the pitch of the second optical grating is set at substantially (u+v) Q/u or (u+v) Q/(2u) (Q=P/m, and m is a whole number of 2 or more), thereby preventing the pitch of the second optical grating from being divided into small ones.

  • Patent number: 4869528
Abstract: An electronically controlled fluid suspension system for preventing the lateral roll of a vehicle computes a predetermined estimated lateral acceleration based on the running speed and the difference between the maximum steering angle and the minimum steering angle within a predetermined period. The supply and discharge of the air to and from the air springs is rapidly controlled corresponding to the estimated lateral acceleration so as to prevent the vehicle from rolling due to the steering operation. Moreover, the electronically controlled fluid suspension system computes a predetermined target vehicle height based on the lateral acceleration. After the air is supplied and discharged to and from the air springs and the increase of the lateral acceleration is stopped, the vehicle height is restored regardless of the external disturbance, by controlling the supply and discharge of the air corresponding to the vehicle height difference between the target vehicle height and the actual vehicle height.

  • Patent number: 4841891
Abstract: A data processing device for a sewing machine stores basic pattern data indicating the relative position between a needle and a material holding unit and including X and Y components of an X-Y coordinate. After setting a reference point on the X-Y coordinate plane and two angles (.alpha.i, .beta.i) based on an X-axis and a Y-axis around the reference point, the data processing device rotates the X and Y components of the basic pattern data on the basis of the two angles (.alpha.i, .beta.i) to form a transformed pattern, and stores the transformed pattern data. The processes such as rotation, inversion and inclination are executed by a single operation by designating the angles (.alpha.i, .beta.i).

  • Patent number: 4834566
Abstract: A typewriter having an automatic erasing function, having an erasing device responsive to an erasure-start key, for effecting an erasing operation to successively erase the characters printed by a printing device, and a controller responsive to the erasure-stop key, for permitting the erasing device to interrupt the erasing operation. The typewriter has an input buffer for storing input data which is entered through a keyboard while the erasing device is operated, the typewriter. The typewriter may be arranged so that the input buffer is cleared upon operation of an erasure-stop key. The above arrangement may be adapted to erase successive words on a display device as character and space data are retrieved from a memory. In this case, a device may be provided to suspend a continuous erasing operation for a predetermined time each time the space data representative of a space between the words has been retrieved from the memory after at least one character has been erased.
