  • Patent number: 5494881
Abstract: A ceramic honeycomb catalyst includes a thin-walled honeycomb structural body (10) and a catalytic substance carried by the honeycomb structural body (10). The honeycomb structural body (10) has a number of longitudinally extending flow passages (13) defined by an outer peripheral wall (11) and partition walls (12) with a reduced thickness (t). The honeycomb structural body (10) satisfies particular relationships between the partition wall thickness (t) and the open frontal area (OFA) or bulk density (G). Notwithstanding the thin-walled partition walls, the honeycomb structural body (10) has practically satisfactory compressive strength characteristics. • Patent number: 5488965
Abstract: Disclosed is a washing nozzle by which tableware 5 positioned at blind spots in a rack 6 can be effectively washed without disturbing the tableware. In the washing nozzle A, a support part 22 is formed at a central position of the washing nozzle A and arm portions 23 are formed on both sides of the support part 22. Extended portions 24 are formed at each end of the arm portions 23. Further, jetting holes 29A having substantially the same size as those of jetting nozzles 27, 28 opened on the arm portions 23 are dispersedly opened over each entire area of the extended portions 24. Thereby, a quantity of the wash water jetted from the jetting holes 29A to the tableware 5 can be totally increased, while the jetting force of the wash water jetted from the jetting holes 29A does not become so strong. Therefore, the wash water can be uniformly jetted to the tableware 5 set in four corners of the rack 6 without occurrence the blind spots, and wash unevenness can be avoided.

  • Patent number: 5486331
Abstract: A process for degreasing ceramic molded bodies containing a large quantity of paraffin wax includes a constant-temperature heating conducted for a certain period of time appropriately determined according to the size and shape of the ceramic molded bodies, at a temperature immediately below the temperature for the ceramic molded bodies to begin contraction, essentially in a low temperature region wherein the contraction occurs due to liquefaction of the paraffin wax and optionally in a high temperature region wherein the contraction occurs due to thermal decomposition of the paraffin wax. According to the process of the invention, build-up of stress in the ceramic molded bodies by heating is prevented and a temperature gradient between the surface and the inside of the molded bodies is leveled, so that crack-free molded bodies are obtained with a shortened degreasing schedule.
