  • Patent number: 4912866
Abstract: A display structure is disclosed comprising rectangular panels each having at its upper edge a cross member (7) providing an upwardly open channel (80) which receives a central formation (68) of a retaining member (54) which provides, at its upper end, on opposite sides, respective downwardly open channels (60). In a lowered position of the retaining member, the outer wall (62) of each channel (60) extends on the outer side of the member (7) and can serve to retain the upper edge of a respective display card fitted in the panel. The releasing member can be raised, then tilted, while being held captive on the member (7) by an enlarged lower end part (76, 78) of the central formation which cannot pass between flanges (82) on member (7), to a position to one side of the respective side face of member (7) to allow vertical insertion or removal of the display card or the like.

  • Patent number: 4898708
Abstract: A method for producing thermoplastic tubular containers having a tubular wall section, open neck, and integral sealed bottom where a thermoplastic disc, is sealed to the inner wall of the tubular wall section, and the disc, while in a moldable state, is formed into a bottom wall by application of either a vacuum to the exterior surface of the disc or a fluid pressure to the interior of the tubular wall section, or both, to mold the disc in a mold cavity to a desired shape. A supporting sleeve surrounds the tubular wall section during application of the fluid pressure. Thermoplastic containers can be formed from a single thermoplastic material or from laminates, such as a laminate material containing an oxygen impermeable layer.

  • Patent number: 4881848
Abstract: An immersed dam foundation and a dam structure are formed in a body of moving water by forming a plurality of spaced piers having temporary support posts thereon. A current deflector is secured to the upstream support posts and sheet piling walls are driven to form upstream and downstream walls between the piers forming a base therebetween. The base is covered with a tremie seal and the walls cut off so that a prefabricated dam structure can be floated to a location above the tremie seal and lowered onto anchor points on the adjacent piers and secured to the piers and tremie seal. An exposed face of a pier is protected from the currents by barriers that serve as a portion of the next upstream and downstream walls, with gravel covered by precast concrete pads. The access galleries of adjacent prefabricated dam structures are closely aligned and seals provided therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4877221
Abstract: An expandable tap hole plug includes a plug comprising a cylindrical member having a circular nose and an outwardly extending flexible sidewall forming a variable obtuse angle with respect to the nose. The plug is adatepd to be oriented within a tap hole of a metallurgical vessel with the nose directed towards the interior of the vessel. An expander, in the form of a truncated cone, has a base and spokes extending outwardly from the base forming a variable obtuse angle with respect to the base. The expander is inverted relative to the plug and is attached to the plug with the spokes of the expander engaging the sidewall of the plug. The angle between the side section and base of the expander is varied so as to vary the angle of the sidewall of the plug relative to the nose thereof to block the tap hole.
