  • Patent number: 6204506
Abstract: An n-type buried channel, a silicon oxide film, a poly-Si transfer electrode, a PSG film as an insulating interlayer, an aluminum interconnection, and a silicon nitride film are stacked on one surface of a p-type silicon substrate to form a CCD. The other surface is protected by a silicon oxide film, and a p+-type accumulation layer is formed on the silicon oxide film, thereby forming a back-illuminated CCD on which light, electromagnetic wave, charged particles, or the like is incident through the other surface. A glass substrate is anodically bonded on the CCD via an insulating polyimide film, and a conductive aluminum film. Therefore, the mechanical strength of the device is kept high, and the sensitivity can be increased by thinning the silicon substrate.

  • Patent number: 6202882
Abstract: An elastic arm part is provided on an outer periphery of a cylinder part of a cap, and a projection is formed in an outer periphery of an opening part. When the cap is loosened, the arm part engages the projection and is elastically deformed and after releasing the engagement of the arm part and the projection, an engagement between a first screw part and a second screw part is released. Even if an engaging distance between a first screw part and a second screw part is short, the cap is prevented from rapidly opening, and it is possible to lengthen a time a fuel steam is slowly discharged from the opening part.

  • Patent number: 6202511
Abstract: A hammer includes a rigid elongated support structure, a head carried at one end of the support structure, and a manually engageable gripping portion. An end of the elongated support structure includes a pair of vibration-receiving portions terminating in spaced apart relation with respect to each other and spaced from each other in a direction parallel to a swing plane of the hammer. The manually engageable gripping portion is formed from a resiliently deformable material molded around a portion of the support structure including the vibration-receiving portions so as to fill the space between the vibration-receiving portions. Vibration forces acting in a direction parallel to the swing plane of the hammer are generated by striking a striking surface of the head against an object.

  • Patent number: 6203882
Abstract: A cordierite honeycomb body is produced by forming a cordierite material including kaoline into a honeycomb shape and sintering it. The kaoline included in the cordierite material is at least partly composed of kaolinite having a Hinckley crystallinity index of 0.5 or more thereby having a less amorphous phase portion in a kaolinite particle. Therefore, when the cordierite material is sintered, the number of micropores generated in the cordierite is decreased due to the less amorphous phase portion in the kaolinite particles. As a result, density of the cordierite is increased without increasing a C.T.E. thereof. Thus, the cordierite honeycomb body has sufficient strength even when thickness of a cell wall thereof is decreased.

  • Patent number: 6199908
Abstract: The horn switch assembly includes a fixed plate on a connector arm and a movable plate in an air bag module. When those plates are electrically continuous, a horn sounds. The movable plate is urged upward apart from the fixed plate. • Patent number: 6200354
Abstract: A method of dyeing cellulosic fibers or fabrics using pre-metallized acid dye by pretreating the fabric with a cationic agent having a plurality of cationic centers and optionally after treating the dyed material with a cationic polymer is disclosed. The cationic polymer is desirably a polyquaternary amine material especially a poly(DADMAC) or polyvinylpyridine. Material dyed by the method has a “washed out” appearance similar to fabrics dyed using the “Jarofast” process, but the availability of a wide range of pre-metallized dyes gives a wider color range, and the method enables a wider range of substrates to be dyed successfully, including lyocell fiber materials e.g. those sold under Courtauld's trademark “Tencel” and blend/union materials with polyamides, easier processing and superior wash and light fastness.

  • Patent number: 6201822
Abstract: A parallel optical signal transmission apparatus suppresses a power source noise, a drift, and timing jitter and drift caused by changes in temperature. The parallel optical signal transmission apparatus has a reference current source 4, which outputs as a direct current reference current a current value that corresponds to a prescribed proportion of a drive current of the laser driver 11, installed on the transmission side and a reference laser diode 121, which emits a standard reference optical signal driven by the direct current reference current, installed on the transmission side. A voltage signal that corresponds to the direct current reference current, which has been converted by the current-voltage conversion circuit 21, is applied as the reference voltage Vref to the comparator 24.

  • Patent number: 6201602
Abstract: The present invention relates to a detector (1) of foreign fibres and to a corresponding detection method, which can be used for detecting foreign fibres and foreign materials in a measurement object (5) in the textile industry, for example in yarns, slithers and unformed fiber bands on, for example, weaving machines, spinning machines, bobbin winding machines, doubling machines, cards, drawing benches and bobbin frames . . . . The principle of the detection is based on the fact that a measurement object (5) and foreign fibres or materials which are situated in the measurement object (5) absorb the light emitted into the measurement volume (4) by a light source (2) to different extents. All the light in the measurement volume (4), or a representative sample thereof, is measured by photodetectors (3) and converted into a photoelectric signal.

  • Patent number: 6200772
Abstract: Sensor devices, and analytical methods using them, employing a detector protected from direct contact with samples being examined by a membrane made of a polyurethane modified with a non-ionic surfactant. The detector is preferably an electrode of conventional type (e.g. plantinum metal, optionally with pseudo, counter or reference electrodes) but especially an enzyme electrode. The surfactant may be incorporated into the polyurethane by admixture or by reacting chemically with the polyurethane, and is preferably a condensate of ethylene oxide with a compound containing a hydrophobic moiety—especially with a hydroxy-compound, e.g. an alkylated phenol, fatty alcohol or a sorbitan ester. Conveniently, the polyurethane membrane may contain up to 20 parts per 100 of polyurethane and be up to 10 microns thick, and formed by dip-coating an electrode. Measurements, using electrodes, may be made amperometrically.
